just drew the 12 pick in a 12 team snake draft!?
Militia replied to svtballa's topic in FFToday Board
I would go to fantasyfootballcalculator.com and do a crap ton of mock drafts. you can pick to draft from the 12 spot, only thing is you can't factor in keepers. but it might give you an idea. -
Great post, I like hearing your thoughts... Maybe don't buy into all of them, but I like your thought behind it and insight... Lets hear your reasoning...

I play in a 8 team, PPR, Keeper league (keep 4) Starts QB,RB,RB,WR,WR,TE,FLEX,K,DEF. I kept Frank Gore, Hakeem Nicks, Mike Wallace, Reggie Wayne. I took a ADP list off of FantasyFootballCalculator.com and omitted every player that was kept and is therefore unavailable. Then I broke them down by round and where I pick in each round (1.5, 2.4, 3.5, 4.4...etc) Here's what I have: 1.1 Michael Turner RB ATL 1.2 Steven Jackson RB STL 1.3 DeSean Jackson WR PHI 1.4 Vincent Jackson WR SD 1.5 LeGarre. Blount RB TB 1.6 Dwayne Bowe WR KC 1.7 Mike Williams WR TB 1.8 Ahmad Bradshaw RB NYG 2.1 Ryan Mathews RB SD 2.2 Marques Colston WR NO 2.3 Dallas Clark TE IND 2.4 Brandon Lloyd WR DEN 2.5 Brand. Marshall WR MIA 2.6 Jer.Finley TE GB 2.7 Shonn Greene RB NYJ 2.8 Jahvid Best RB DET 3.1 Jeremy Maclin WR PHI 3.2 Wes Welker WR NE 3.3 Vernon Davis TE SF 3.4 Tony Romo QB DAL 3.5 DeAng. Williams RB CAR 3.6 Jon.Stewart RB CAR 3.7 Steve Johnson WR BUF 3.8 Ryan Grant RB GB 4.1 Owen Daniels TE HOU 4.2 Cedric Benson RB CIN 4.3 Matt Schaub QB HOU 4.4 Sidney Rice WR MIN 4.5 B.Green-Ellis RB NE 4.6 Austin Collie WR IND 4.7 Kenny Britt WR TEN 4.8 Santonio Holmes WR NYJ 5.1 Mark Ingram RB NO 5.2 Ryan Torain RB WAS 5.3 Matt Ryan QB ATL 5.4 Felix Jones RB DAL 5.5 Percy Harvin WR MIN 5.6 Michael CrabtreeWR SF 5.7 Pierre Garcon WR IND 5.8 Joseph Addai RB IND 6.1 Pittsburgh Def DEF PIT 6.2 Steve Smith WR NYG 6.3 Daniel Thomas RB MIA 6.4 Malcom Floyd WR SD 6.5 B.RoethlisbergerQB PIT 6.6 Pierre Thomas RB NO 6.7 Fred Jackson RB BUF 6.8 A.J. Green WR CIN So now Im going thru seeing at each one of my picks who would be available and who I would want. This also gives me the opportunity to look forward and say "might as well wait another round on a WR since there is one I like available to me next round". Now, I DO KNOW that the draft wont happen exactly like this but it does give me a idea of who should be where according to my actual league and with our keepers etc. This might only work for those of you who are in a keeper league. I know its not perfect, and I'm not trying to get on here and brag about something I'm sure a million other people do, but I'd like to hear any ideas or thoughts.

Am i the only one who think Matt Ryan is ready for a breakout?
Militia replied to Urlacher54's topic in FFToday Board
I do see him doing big things this year. But lets not go so far to compare a player we've NEVER seen play in the NFL (J. Jones) to Reggie Wayne. But yes, I think he is being ranked too low. -
Until reading this I didn't realize my league was in the vast minority. We keep 4 in an 8 team league. Keepers have to be declared by Superbowl halftime. I don't know if this is a good or bad way, but one advantage is you can really do your research on who you want based upon who is left. Also you can kind of tell which position each team needs in the first round or two. The draft order is determined by the previous years finish (last place to champ).
-
Anyone else doing any of these? Pretty cool, goes by quick, uses default Yahoo! rankings for any team that doesn't get filled by an actual person. Good time waste if nothing else!
-
found one at fantasyfootballcalculator.com too. It goes a lot quicker, just a little less "aesthetically pleasing". The computer picks in 2 seconds instead of 10 in the yahoo one. But your right, drafts do look very similar because everyone has the same rankings in front of them. Although Yahoo lets you import your own rankings if you choose to do so.

Breaking news on ABC local in Dallas tonight was that Dez Bryant was banned for 90 days from North Parks Mall. haha. If that's not dumb enough, it was for arguing with an off-duty officer after the cop asked him to pull up his sagging pants....
-
I think you are a fool if you believe a lock-out will last 2 years. As far as your dynasty league, I'd say pretend it didn't happen.

He's been keeping this list for a while now. Ranking all the NFL Franchises by playoff appearances, conference championships, and super bowl appearances and titles. There is a mathmatical formula (some have no problem with it, some argue). This was actually so popular last year ESPN stole the idea and used it last year. What do you think? http://sturminator.blogspot.com/2011/02/franchise-rankings-part-3.html By the way, yes Bob Sturm works in Dallas, but grew up in Wisconson and is not a Dallas homer, actually a huge packer backer, complete with a Green Bay tattoo on his arm.
-
I figured this would stir up some kind of mess, but it is pretty objective, and like I said, he is in no way a cowboys "fan". But, as a Cowboys fan, I would really prefer to switch entire teams, coaching and ownership with the Packers.
-
Gotcha. I wish someone would set this up as something you could enter. Sounds fun!
-
Is this hosted somewhere? Somewhere other people could get a league in? or are y'all calculating this yourself?
-
YES YES YES! Oh, what a day. I'm so glad Brady and his bunch wont be coming here to Dallas. Thank god! It's a good day.

I couldn't ever find any lists that I really like, and that are custom to my league, so I've started making my own the last few years. I've just started for next year, with all this years stats. I went in and typed in all the info, including stats and FF points according to my leagues scoring system (standard yahoo + ppr). Take a look at the file, let me know what you think, if you have any ideas, etc. There are 4 tabs at the bottom for QB, WR, RB, TE. Some of the fields are not filled out yet (haven't got around to finding out how many games all these people played in, and some of the fields I cannot fill out until the full schedule comes out next year). Good thing about making a spreadsheet is I can sort the information how I need it. http://owenglenn.files.wordpress.com/2011/01/player-rankings.xlsx
-
Exactly. After I posted this, I learned you could do that. I have just done it in the player "name" field. Put in coaching changes, injury updates and so on. This way I can keep tabs on everyone. Thank you. Will do. I understand, and I agree at this point. But what I will do when the season rolls around next year and training camps get up and going and pre-season starts (assuming all that happens as scheduled...) is I'm going to add MY rankings, and MY projections based upon changes during the offseason, etc. Then I will sort them by my rankings for what I actually take to the draft. I can also enter my mock draft results into this, average draft position, strenth of schedule, etc., that going to sportsline is not going to offer me. As well as I can delete the information that I don't need. But you are right, it is a lot of work. Going back and finding players ages was a pain in the ass, and now I'm going to have to go back and enter in how many games they've played.
-
Man, he's really going to regret not retiring one season earlier. This year has been a disaster. Hilarious for someone like me who can't stand the dude.
-
I wish there was any easy way to put "notes" on a spreadsheet. I don't want to use a field to write a sentence or two in, does anyone know if there is a way to do this? Something that is "hidden" until I want to see it?

Keep 4. 8 Team League. Standard scoring + PPR. 1qb,2rb,2wr,1te,1flex,1k,1def Ben Roethisberger Frank Gore Ryan Grant Reggie Wayne Hakeem Nicks Jermichael Finley
-
He's supposed to have his stitches out and return to practice Wednesday (per Yahoo). I just barely got into the playoffs, and could really use him. If anyone has any updates on him, please let me know.... but if he is good to go how confident do you feel rolling with him?
-
Standard Scoring + PPR. We keep 4. start 1qb,2rb,2wr,1te,1flex,1k,1d Here's the guys I have in consideration in order of points they have scored in my league this year.... Frank Gore Hakeem Nicks Reggie Wayne Mike Wallace Ben Roethlisberger Jermichael Finley Obviously Finley and Big Ben would be higher on the list had they played all season. My initial thoughts were Gore, Ben, Wayne and Nicks. But I wouldn't mind keeping Finley and not having to worry about a starting TE in the draft. What's your thoughts?

Big Ben plays vs NE Eli vs DAL Standard Scoring. You can just vote. Leave your link.

I think ya gotta start Fitz. He's got the most talent.
