Does anyone else build their own draft board?

Luckally for me, I work for FASTSIGNS, so I get to make my own every year. We do a live draft and like to keep it old school with a manual draft board. Here's what this years looked like http://i624.photobucket.com/albums/tt324/vandeusen/draftboard.jpg 8 team (4 keepers, all listed at the top).

to think, just a couple months ago we didn't know if today would happen. it's here! Thank god! GO MARK INGRAM!

Is There a worse "professional" Analysis

Good god, I'm glad I'm not the only one. He has been driving me nuts. He's such a blowhard, know-it-all. I cannot stand seeing him. We all need to take a couple minutes to write NFL network and let them know... he must go. How can the network that hand picked the best host(IMO), Rich Eisen then also find this guy and give him a shot. You can write to NFL Network here http://www.nfl.com/contact-us

    Trade I've Been Offered....

I'm pretty sure this is a no-brainer, but I just want to be certain before i pull the trigger. standard scoring plus PPR (.5), large roster, 8 team league, 4 keepers. I kept: Frank Gore Hakeem Nicks Reggie Wayne Mike Wallace I need a RB 1st round, I have the 5th pick. (1st round in this 4 keeper league is like the 5th in a re-draft), a team wants to give me MJD for my 1st round pick, IF Felix Jones is there. I think this is a easy deal to make, basically a 5th rounder for MJD, right? Here are the best RB's available. I think at least 2 if not 3 will go before my 5th pick. Michael Turner Steven Jackson LeGarette Blount Felix Jones Shonn Greene Ahmad Bradshaw Jahvid Best DeAngelo Williams leave me your link and I will reply. My draft is only a couple hours away! Like I said, I think it's a No-Brainer, but I want to be sure.

    Who do I drop for a K?

Kinda harsh, don't ya think? I do agree, you have plenty of people to choose from to drop, but you're team isn't as awful as outlined above. Carter is probably safe if you drop him, you could probably get him back. mine: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=387587

    WR4

I kinda have a thing for Burleson. I think he's got a lot of upside, and DET should be a pretty powerful offense. DB's will be focused on Megatron, Burleson could have a big year. Mine: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=387587

    How's my Squad?

I don't think you're TOO weak at WR. Britt didn't get the big suspension we all thought he'd have, and Lloyd was a beast last year. Julio Jones has lots of upside, and could be of value. Amendola could be serviceable since it's ppr. It's the price you pay for having really good RB's. At least since you had to pick "lesser" wr's you got some guys that have a good amount of upside. mine: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=387587

who scores more fantasy points this year

I tend to subscribe to this theory as well. Although I think Jacobs is the better back, Lynch will get more attempts / chances. mine: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=387587

    Kolb over Romo week 1?

I'd start Romo. Just because even with a tough defense, you know what Romo can do. Kolb COULD be great, but we just dont know yet. I wouldn't make such a risky move week 1. see mine, please http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=387587

    Big Trade For Rodgers

deal Shonn Greene, I think he has a lower ceiling than MJD. At least MJD have proven he can do it... and MAKE THAT DEAL! Good job, best of luck! Please see mine: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=387587

    I can't decide

PPR, 8 team, 4 keepers (I kept Gore, Wayne, Nicks, Wallace) I have the 5th pick. I'm positive at least 2 RB's will go before I pick, but possibly 3. Here are my options in how I currently have them ranked, but I keep changing my mind.... Michael Turner Steven Jackson LeGarette Blount Felix Jones Ahmad Bradshaw Jahvid Best Mark Ingram I'd really like to get 2 of those guys in the first 2 rounds, but that's gonna be tough to swing. How would u rank them?

    Am I missing something?

someone in the 5 bold predictions thread said he'd be the passing leader this year... so everyone has an opinion. But, you made the safer move for sure.

    F JONES

I'm right there with you. I want to believe. But it's hard. I voted top 20. Murray sure looked good in that last pre-season, even though that doesn't mean much. Just another point of concern for Felix.

My team is a BIG injury waiting to happen :(

risky, but depending on your scoring, league size, etc... could be a pretty nice team.

    So Excited to Draft...

10 team, starts 1qb,2rb,3wr,1te,1k,1def drafted from the 8 spot. here's my team Peyton Manning Joe Flacco Chris Johnson LeSean McCoy Beanie Wells Reggie Bush Jonathan Stewart Dwayne Bowe Marques Colston Julio Jones Sydney Rice Steve Smith (Phi) Dallas Clark I really like some of my guys, but I think my WR's are pretty terrible, other than Bowe I don't expect much. Talk me off the ledge!!! What do ya think?

    So Excited to Draft...

Yes, this shocked me. First round went Foster, Peterson, Michael Turner!!!, Ray Rice, Michael Vick, Mendenhall, Andre Johnson, Chris Johnson, A Rodgers, Calvin Johnson. Round 2 Jamaal Charles, Fitzgerald, McCoy Gore, McFadden, White, Jones-Drew, Rivers, Brady, Nicks So, yeah. Michael Turner went way too early. And the guy who drafted him does pretty well, I wouldn't say he's a bad drafter before that pick... so the fact i got McCoy and CJ is pretty awesome. But I would have had CJ and Fitzgerald had he fell one more pick.

    So Excited to Draft...

Thanks for all the feedback. I appreciate it. Here's the order I drafted everyone in: 1. (8) Chris Johnson RB 2. (13) LeSean McCoy RB 3. (28) Peyton Manning QB 4. (33) Dwayne Bowe WR 5. (48) Marques Colston WR 6. (53) Dallas Clark TE 7. (68) Julio Jones WR 8. (73) Beanie Wells RB 9. (88) Sidney Rice WR 10. (93) Reggie Bush RB 11. (108) Joe Flacco QB 12. (113) Jonathan StewartRB 13. (128) Steve Smith WR 14. (133) New Orleans DEF 15. (148) Garrett Hartley K I think I made ONE big mistake that really cost me throuhout the rest of the draft, and that was Manning in the 3rd. It was way too high, I saw how quickly QB's were going off the board (2 in the 1st round and 4 in the 2nd) and really blew it. Had I gone WR WR at 3&4 I think my team would have ended up much better. It sucks though, It's seriously depressed me for like 3 days now. haha To keep myself from going off the edge, I'm going to have to assume Peyton and CJ play week 1. If they do, I have the best RB tandem in the league, for sure. I have a top 3 QB (IMO)one of the best 2 TE (IMO) and I like Bowe. Not to mention Beanie COULD be an impact player this year since ARI hasn't run out to get anyone else, he's gonna get lots of carries and Bush is going to start in MIA. If this league had a flex pos. instead of the 3rd WR, I would completely change my tune.

    Common Sense Found Here

Keep dropping Manning down your board... I'll gladly take him a round later.
  20. Altho, like the author states, it probably wont work, but it's a very interesting theory. You can see the full article here To summarize, maybe instead of avoiding players on the same bye week, you draft players that have the same bye week, tank horribly one week, but be at full strength the rest of the season instead of having someone out every week during the bye's. Interesting, and I figure it could be a good argument on here. The article is taken from godhateslosers.blogspot.com pretty cool little site. Let's begin arguing.
  21. I agree with you completely. For all the same reasons, I wouldn't do it. I tried to do it during a mock, but it just easly gets jacked up and your forced to get crappy players or give up on the theory. but it is interesting.

    Draft Award Ideas...

I work at a FASTSIGNS, so I'm going to use that to my advantage this year. Along with making our draft board and a banner to hang outside the house we draft at, I'm going to make some draft awards. Some little 4"x6" plaques on black PVC. I'm going to give them out for stupid things. Here is a sample: http://i624.photobucket.com/albums/tt324/vandeusen/PlaqueSample.jpg So far here are my ideas... Last to Arrive First Kicker Selection First to Pick a Player Already Selected First to Pick an Injured or Suspended Player HOMER AWARD - First to Draft 2 Dallas Cowboys (we are located in North Texas) Only thing is I'd like to stay away from "subjective" things like "best draft" or "worst draft". And the funnier the better. I need probably about 12 ideas, so everyone has a chance to get one. I know y'all are super creative so let me hear what you got!!!
  23. Was looking into the Fantasy Football Index subscription as well as Rotoworld, but are any of these things worth it? Can I really be getting any more than what I can find on great sites like this one, and with my own experience and research? If you've purchased one of these, give me your thoughts. Thanks!

Are any of these draft guides worth buying?

Yeah, people always bag on Magazines, but i like flippin through and checking stuff out. I know its not all up to date, but its fun to have something to flip through and look at. Although my smart phone has overtaken a mag. for bathroom material. haha

    Is this site down?

I've been doing mock drafts here several times a day, but today I go and it can't find it... how about y'all? www.fantasyfootballcalculator.com
