  1. Between Dallas, Philly, and Tampa, I'm not sure any of these teams want to make the playoffs. Dallas could have locked it up a week ago, but couldn't get it done at home. You can make all the bold predictions you want, but that's not going to make it happen. Let's try something new here...instead of telling about what they're going to do, and then watching them fail, let's wait for them to actually accomplish something and then we'll talk.

This is going to be an exciting fight for wildcard spots in the NFC. No one seems to want it badly enough right now. Should be fun to see who finally steps up.

What are you doing with DeShaun Foster?

    Yes, without a doubt.

What are you doing with DeShaun Foster?

Adam Schefter was reporting Gore will likely sit. I'm rolling with Foster.

For sure? No. But barring any set back in warm up or something, he's a go. The signs have been pointing to him playing all week. It would be a big surprise if he didn't go.

Hard to say. But it will certainly stack the cards in someone's favor.

Matt Waldman predicts Megatron will out perform Moss

I hope you are not arguing the loss of Kitna compares to Brady. Kitna was on his way out even before getting injured. The impact is not even remotly comparable. Not only did the loss of Brady significantly downgrade the QB position, NE vastly revamped their offensive game planning for significant portions of the season which may have been the biggest blow to Randy's numbers. Cassel was way off on the deep ball for much of the season, and NE merely looked to dink and dunk for stretches -even had nearly 70 attempts in a game where he hardly looked Randy's way. Detroit never stopped trying to feed the ball to Calvin, regardless of who was in there.

Matt Waldman predicts Megatron will out perform Moss

It was pretty much a lock when Brady went down. 16 games with Brady and Moss probably has the better season.

    Romo-Do you have the guts?

The biggest concern for me is if he can make it through the game. I'm telling you, he is beat to hell right now and really had to gut it out to finish last week. If Marrion Barber can't take all the reps, Choice is a concern as a rookie trying to protect against the complex blitzing schemes your DC throws at offenses. He's coming in with a bad back, and is going to get hit, and hit hard a number of times, particularly if Dallas looks to throw down field, as is their preference. That's the risk you're taking here with Romo.

    Romo-Do you have the guts?

Romo's bangged up, Barber's bangged up, they're facing a desperate Baltimore defense... There are legitimate reasons to be concerned with this one, so you have to consider your options here.

    T.O. destroying the Cowboys

Let's see how they play this week before we say he's destroyed them. Maybe this will hurt them, maybe it won't. They've got a huge game this week, so we'll see.

I am going to boycott ESPN!

I agree, but we all know this is exactly what Jerry Jones wants. Most teams see this sort of thing as a distraction. You think a football guy like Bill Parcells would consider letting the Hard Knocks crew cover his team? Of course not. But that's not how they run things in Dallas. They welcome the attention -they invite it.

I am going to boycott ESPN!

Dallas gets more coverage than any other team by far. The love affair is with the Dallas product, not necessarily hyping them as a great team -but make no mistake, give them half a reason to and they'll be all over that bandwagon. As for last year, have we forgotten all the TO/Romo/Jessica Simpson coverage last year? You can't escape it.

You should be looking at your owner. This is Jerry's creation, and ESPN has a love affair with Dallas...by design. Get over it or find another team. It's not about football in big D, and you know it.

    Tough RB call

Can Barber really sit after the owner called him soft? If I had to make a wild guess, I say he plays.

A "good chance" that Brandon Jacobs is out

He has a partially damaged PCL. The team wants him 100% for the playoffs, so I can't see him playing.
  17. xenophobe

    Jacobs?!?

I highly doubt he plays. He has a slightly damaged PCL and the team doesn't want to risk not having him 100% for the playoffs.

    Marion Barber Out!

Dallas down to their 3rd string RB, and will have to relay on a rookie picking up the Steeler blitz.

    Cowboys playoff hopes

Well, we're sure going to see what Dallas is made of. They have a tough stretch of games here to close the season and any slip up could land them on the outside looking in. We can talk about them being back with Romo returning and playing well, but the fact of the matter is, their issues have been a lot more than that and his loss only cost them ONE GAME. So now we'll see if there is any substance behind the hype.

    Detroit Lions

WRs are a luxury position. A good one can be the missing piece and a really good one can raise an offense, but you absolutly can not build a team around the position. This team wasted four high first round picks on the position, and as a result, they have no core on either side of the ball. Calvin Johnson is amazing and I think talent wise he is the best I've seen in a long time. But as good as he is, its kind of hard for him to have an impact when his QB is getting plastered every time he drops back and his defense can't get a hand on anybody. They should have the top pick this year and some extras from the Williams trade. As bad as this team is, they have one bonified superstud and some real draft leverage build this thing up the right way.

I'm calling it now: Jets vs Cowboys in Superbowl

I think the way Tennessee is built, you can see them having success in the post season. They're well coached, tough on defense, they run the ball, and they can win the close ones. Combine that with the (likely) advantages of the number one seed, and you have to see them as a good bet for post season success. That said, my gut puts my money on Indi in the AFC. As much as I like Fisher and the Tenn defense, Manning just gives them too much of an edge, IMO. The Jets are certainly tough, but between Mangini and the chance that the bad Brett Favre could crash their party at any time, I just can't jump on that bandwagon. The Steelers have some pieces in place, but I don't see them making it all the way through the playoffs with that o-line.

Who went WR-heavy in your drafts?

I went Moss, Owens and Calvin Johnson. I'm leading my league in scoring and record. My other guys are Turner, Kevin Smith, Slaton, and Rodgers. I was a pick away from drafting Forte.

    John Carney

I'm pretty sure they went with Tynes last week because of the 20MPH winds and he has the stronger leg. Carney is more consistent, but has a weaker leg on kickoffs. This is not shaping up to be a game of field position, and elements will be a non factor in Az, so my guess is Carney would be the guy. But that's just my guess.

Kurt Warner: Hall of Fame QB?

It does have some similarities. The key difference for me though would be that once Steve Young got his shot he never looked back. Warner had a few great years and then things started falling apart. He lost his job in a couple different places and took him years to land back on his feet. I don't think Young was a system QB. He brought a lot to the table. I don't know that I'm exactly saying Warner is a system QB either though. I think in the situations he's found himself in in St. Louis and Arizona, he really does run those offenses as well as anyone would. The problem for him is he turns into a train wreck when you can pressure him.
