    J. Maclin

I think that MAclin is better suited to catch the short and intermediate passes that Kolb excels in therefore he might get similar stats to DJax.

Which QB to have Brees or Peyton?

Receiving groups are similar, specially if you consider Bush similar in value in passing game to Clark for Indy. The biggest difference for me is the running game and OL which NO is a lot better than Indy which makes it harder to defend.

    5 Late Round WR Targets

There are several good WRs available in late rounds. Some with potential to be WR2 like: Mike Williams (TB) = big target that is excelling in camp James Jones (GB) = prolific offense + Driver will not last forever Jacoby Jones = Prolific offense + competing with Walter for #2 (I'm considering drafting Walter and Jacoby to guarantee that spot) Other sleepers: Hartline (Mia) = he is #2 WR now so worth watching in preseason McCluster (KC) = will get runs and catches + Weis will use him as a Welker-type Schilens (Oak) = Big body with talent that should be #1 WR there Berrian (Min) = If Rice and Harvin are hampered by injuries he can get a lot more targets

Jets are NOT Super Bowl Contenders

whenever you have a great D and good running game you have a good shot at the SB. The Jet's D is that good. If Revis plays then they have 3 veryy good CBs that can defend against any team. Plus they control the TOP which always gives them a better chance at winning. If Sanchez improves on last yr they can win it. As mentioned earlier there is no AFC team you can say is a lot better than the Jets.

    Welker a #1 in PPR?

If you get Welker you might consider handcuffing him with Edelman. That way you still get the points in the slot from NE.

Tell me why not to draft Michael Turner

I have turner as the 6th best RB behind Gore. Gore catches passes and has a better schedule during the season as well as in fantasy playoffs. The 2 new OL SF added will help Gore even more. Turner is still a very good choice and should be closer to 2008 #s than last yrs #s.

    Super Sleeper

Jason Snelling RB Atlanta....has been overlooked and people are drafting Norwood as a handcuff for Turner. Snelling is the actual replacement for Turner and still gets touches in games.

    Michael Bush

I like Bush this yr but I prefer having him as a #3 RB. He has been the best RB in Oakland the last several yrs so he should be able to get more carries than McFadden. However, they will still split the carries.

Randy Moss has a fiar shot at Rice's TD Record

All this argument is assuming that Moss is not injured in the next 3-5 yrs. durability was another incredible feat by Rice.

    Opinions on Kevin Kolb?

The problem with that strategy is that if someone takes Eli before you do you are left bare with quesitonnable QBs. I rather get a QB no later than the 7th round (14-team league).

Jamal Charles where should he be drafted?

Also take into account that Charles has a great schedule and the only guaranteed top run-defense is San Francisco. In my 14-team league I would get Charles in the middle to end of the 2nd round.

Are people sleeping on Keller as a late tight end bargain?

I'm not fond of Keller because all the WRs will take targets away from him. Plus the Jets are still a running team. As a bargain I prefer Zach Miller. Heath Miller will also be available and for a team that has traded Holmes they will feature him more. Carlson is also another sleeper who could do well since he is great catching but last year was forced to block because of the terrible OL. Keller might have some good games but I think he will be very inconsistent.

    Some mock draft observations

I also play in a 14-team league and agree with many of your points. I've done a lot of mock drafts and noticed that Brady, Romo, Schaub are gone by pick 40 (end of 3rd round) on average. Rivers might be a good pickup in the 4th if McNeil and/VJ return to action. You can get good values of RBs in the 2nd half of round 2 through rd 4. 5th round seems to be where there is a run of TEs after Davis is selected. Clark is going a lot sooner than Gates. I don't know my draft position but my preference is to go WR in the 1st and get a good RB in the 2nd. I prefer to have the picks from 6-11 as it guarantees I get a top WR and top RB. WRs are gone for people selecting at the end of round 2 and the value is not there for WRs in round 3 but it is a big gap until the end of round 4. I think Ricky is a better option than Brown. Brown is being selected in the 4th round and Ricky si going 1 or 2 rounds later. Zach Miller is a great option at TE in round 8, but also a lot of people are discounting Heath Miller who could be a steal, specially after Holmes was sent to NY. I agree that people are crazy when going for DEF in rounds 7-9. There is great value in WRs in the final rounds, but terrible value for RBs after round 10 unless you handcuff you top RB. I think Roddy White is going to be a top 5 WR and has proven it the past 3 yrs while Austin has only done it for half a season. According ot mock drafts there is no consensus on Fitz, some are going for him up to picks 11-12 and others are passing until round 2 just because of Leinart. However, he is a big WR who does not need a great pass to catch and is a red zone threat with no decent TE in the team so I don't know why he is being drafted after CJ or Austin. I'm not keen on Dez Bryant as a #2 WR as many are drafting him, but it is good strategy to select Roy Williams later. My best case scenario for draft from the 6-spot is: 1) AJ 2) DeAngelo Williams/Grant/Charles 3) Romo 4) Addai/Felix Jones/Best 5) Hines Ward/Nicks/Celek/Witten 6) Moss/Garcon/Maclin 7) Bradshaw/Portis/Michael Bush 8) TE or RB A 2nd option is to go for another RB in round 3 and follow with a TE (Gates or Davis) or a WR in round 4 and then go for Kolb (or Favre if he returns) in round 5 or else wait until round 6 or 7 for a QB like Eli Manning or Flacco. In general I prefer the 2nd option, but because my league scores 6 points per TD I'm leaning towards the 1st choice. What do you think? On a final note, a lot of these points will change after preseason games begin and people become more aware of current "sleepers" and RB depths are settled.

    setting draft positions

In my 14-team league we have always set the draft positions right before the draft. I tend to do a lot of research before it, but now I don't know whether it is better for me to know the draft position 1 or 2 days before, a week before or as soon as the draft begins? On the one hand, I do several mock drafts at different spots so I am prepared no matter where I choose while others might not be if they suddenly have to pick first or last. However, I keep thinking that knowing 1 day before might help me since I can set my strategy and focus on particular players. The biggest discrepancy in my strategies is where to select a QB. If my position is is at the end of round 1 then I might choose a QB in rounds 1 or 2. If I select in the middle I might go for a QB in the 3rd round and if I select at the beginning I might go for a QB in round 5. Should I talk to my league to set up the positions before the draft? How much earlier would benefit me the most?

    GFIAFP Rookie Bust pick 2010

I woult also take a lfier on Spiller in final 3 rounds....however I doubt he lasts till then. I think the bust candidate might be Tate, he is a bit overrated in my opinion plus if Foster is decent and with Slaton back Tate might not have as big a role as people think.

Why go for WR/WR in 1st 2 rounds?

I've noticed that several who pick in the 10-14 (14 team leagues) are going for the WR/WR strategy. What is your reasoning for it? Won't it leave you weak with RBs? Does it force you to go for a QB in rounds 5 or 6 and not get a top QB? Is there such a large gap between Miles, Marshall, White, etc...with the WRs available later (Crabtree, Steve Smith 1 and 2, Ocho-Cinco, etc.) Or is it just because you play in PPR leagues?
  17. cheesesteaks

Why go for WR/WR in 1st 2 rounds?

How about settling for RB/WR or WR/RB and then doing the same for rounds 3 and 4? On a second note which QBs are you aiming for in later rounds?
  18. I've done a lot of mocks and the RBs that are available in those spots in no particular order are Charles, Greene, Deangelo Williams, Mathews, Benson, Pierre Thomas, Grant, and sometimes Mendenhall. With good values of WRs in CJ, Fitz, White, Austin, Miles, Jennings, DJax, Colston and Marshall they are pushing RBs back. Also the 3 top QBs help as well.
  19. Usually I have gone for a RB in the 1st, but in this draft I only see the top 4 as RBs. I like AJ in the 5th or 6th spot. After that Gore, Turner, SJax are my only worth RBs. In 14-team league I prefer to go for either Moss, Wayne, Rodgers or Brees and then come back with a RB in round 2. There is good value for RBs in the beginning to middle of round 2.

preparing for draft with a flex position

Because 2 QBs can be used people will dratf them very early. Brady, Romo and Schaub might go in the 2nd round. In any case you can trade 1 of the QBs for a stud RB or WR later one to a desperate owner.

    Brandon Lloyd replacing Brandon Marshall

He might be worth a late flier in the last few rounds as a #5 WR.

    Aroushmadu or Knoxx?

I can see Knox and DA being the starting WRs over Hester. I would wait til the preseason games to see if Cutler has any preference. Based on the last few games in 2009 I would say DA has a better shot.

    Who's worthy of a 1st round selection after 6th?

I think Gore will be very good this year given his upgraded OL and nice weapons in Davis and Crabtree to open up running lanes. Turner should be solid and worth a 1st round selection. AJ is my best pick for the 6th spot or later. Other than that I would consider Moss, Rodgers and Brees in the 1st round. Since I'm in a 14-teamer the value at the end of the 1st round is equal to that of the beginning and middle of the 2nd.

    Is Forte a #2 RB?

Forte and Chester Taylor are very similar RBs. Forte is a bit more talented and showed potential his first year but was terrible last year. Taylor is a better pass blocker. If Forte improves his pass blocking will he be very good in Martz offense? Will they split the carries? Would you take Forte ahead of Felix Jones, Jahvid Best, Addai and Ronnie Brown?

    Welker Off PUP List

My biggest concern with Welker is how he will handle being hit. For a WR that does a lot of his catches in traffic that could be problematic. Will need to see him in preseason games, if not then draft him if he drops.
