    Miles Austin or Reggie Wayne?

In terms of yards the both will be about equal. The question comes down to TDs and whether you think Dallas looks for Austin in the Red Zone or not. I think that Austin is the 3rd option there while Wayne is #1 or #2.
  2. I agree that you should take your best player available even if you reach for a player like Greene. In my case AJ is the safest pick at this spot and is my BPA and in the 2nd round I will get a RB that are of good value (Mathews, Charles, DeAngelo, Grant).

    Tier 1 QBs...I count 6 of them.

I don't like Rivers unless Vjax is a definite for the season otherwise they have terrible underachieving WRs outside of Gates plus a rookie tailback. People are in love with Flacco but he hasn't shown much in fantasy and is in a run-oriented offense though he could improve with Cameron. Kolb is an unknown but the pass-first system and great skill players will make him a solid bet even if he has 1 or 2 terrible games. Eli is underrated but could be solid with up and coming WRs. Favre should be ahead of these QBs, but I feel that eventually his age will catch up and he will be injured.
  4. MDC the big issue you have to consider is how much value do you see in the top QBs. I see Rodgers as equal to Romo and Schaub. Then there is a dropoff with mid-tier QBs that have potential (Flacco, Kolb, Ryan, Cutler) but are risky. If that is the case then in a 14-team league I would go WR/RB or RB/WR and pick a QB in the 3rd round. Otherwise, if you believe that the QBs in rounds 5-6 are good enough then you can go RB in the 3rd (Benson, Pierre Thomas, Wells, McCoy) and then go for a WR/TE in the 4th round (Harvin, Bowe, maybe a Steve Smith, Nicks, Wes Walker if recovered, Garcon or go for Gates or Vernon Davis if they are there). The other option is to go for a WR in round 3 (Steve Smiths, Boldin, Crabtree, Ocho-Cinco) and hope that Felix Jones, Jahvid Best, Addai or Ronnie Brown fall to the 4th round.
  5. I would take AJ without a doubt at the 6th spot even in standard leagues. After him I would go for Turner as I feel he will be solid this year and the schedule is not that difficult. Another option is SJax but I don't think he can hold up for a year. I'm not fond of getting a QB here since you can get a good one even in round 3 (Brady, Romo or Schaub).

    Miles Austin or Reggie Wayne?

I would pick Wayne as Manning likes to throw to him. As for Miles the problem is that Dallas does not concentrate on 1 receiver. Romo likes to throw to Witten in the red zone and will then look at Roy Williams or Dez Bryant there as well over Miles. RBs also get a lot of action in pass plays.

    Is Forte a #2 RB?

Even with a down year Forte had 929 yards in 258 carries and in the pass he was targeted 72 times for 471 yards. I can see a slight improvement in numbers for Forte and he should get more TDs. The one thing that is in his favor is that the WRs are average at best. The big question is the OL.

Santana Moss with McNabb at the helm?

The problem with analyzing these stats is that the Eagles have not had great WRs except 2 yrs and AR offense is based on spreading the ball. Also Westbrook has been an integral part of the passing game which took away from the WRs. Since Moss a true #1 WR I expect him to catch a lot of balls plus his speed will help. Devin Thomas might be valuable with McNabb because McNabb waits for the WR to get open rather than throw ahead of them which fits Thomas if he can improve.

Convince me to wait on my TE in a PPR draft...

Out of the TEs that I feel are worth as #1 TEs are Clark, Gates, Vernon, Celek, Finley, Witten, Gonzo, Winslow, Owen Daniels, Shiancoe, Zach Miller, Cooley....which equals to 12 TEs. So you should be able to get a TE in 12-team leagues and even in 14-team leagues which I play in. I should be able ot get one of these TEs in the first 9 rounds.

    Another great article

It is too early to tell about these teams. I think Campbell is a lot better than any QB Oakland has had in years so that could help the team. Also wait until the 1st 3 pre-season games to see if any preference is made for WRs. For the Bills I think Fred Jackson will be the #1 RB but will share a lot...so I rather avoid them...plus Lynch will be featured some just to give him value for a trade next year or mid-year. Seattle has a new regime so that could change the offense specially if the OL improves. Most people assume the Rams will start with Bradford at QB, but I think that they will let him sit and play Feeley who has enough experience in this offense to make somebody outside of SJax relevant. I will wait til preseason games to see if any of these teams improve and have players worth drafting in later rounds.

I agree that Zach Miller is a good consolation prize. I think people are overrating Witten a bit....yes he is good, but Dallas has too many weapons that I see a drop in TDs for Witten this year plus he only had 2 TDs last year. Finley is a boom or bust candidate. I have Clark, Gates and Davis as top 3 TEs because they offer WR numbers. The rest are Finley, Celek, Gonzo, Daniels, Winslow, Shiancoe, Zach Miller. Other 3 options that have potential are: Cooley where McNabb likes to throw to the TEs (remember LJ) and there are no great weapons at WR; Carlson is a great TE but has been asked to block a lot with the terrible OL in Seattle, if the OL is fixed he is a #1 or #2 receiving option there and he did have 7 TDs last year so a red-zone threat; Heath Miller, after trading Holmes Miller is the clear #2 receiving option so he will get his yds, plus an average OL and running game might force Steelers to pass a lot like last year.

    RBs With 'Heavy Workloads'

OJ Simpson in 74 was 27 yrs old and had been in the league for 5 years Eric Dickerson in 84 was 24 yrs old and had been in the league for 1 year, however he had carried 390 times in 83. Barry Sanders in 97 was 29 yrs old and had been in the league for 7 years. Terrell Davis in 98 was 26 yrs old and had been in the league for 3 years, however he had carried for 345 and 369 carries in 94 and 95 respectively. Jamal Lewis in 03 was 24 yrs old and had been in the league for 2 years and had carried for over 300 times in 2000 and 2002 and had been sidlined all 2001. Chris Johnson was 23 years old last year and had only carried 251 times in 2008. Because of his age, no previous injuries, not carrying too many times in 2008, and not having a punishing running style like other RBs might allow Chris Johnson to have a good 2010 season. Who would you draft ahead of CJ?

The issue with picking TEs early also depends on how your draft is going. If you select a QB and TE in the 1st 5 rounds you might end up weaker at WR or RB. I either go for a TE in the 1st 4 rounds or a QB, but rarely both. There are also a lot of TEs this year compared to last year (Gates, Clark, Finley, Vernon Davis, Celek, Owen Daniels, Shiancoe, Winslow and later on Cooley and Zach Miller).

Another reason to avoid QB in the first 2 rounds

The point is not comparing Brees or Manning to Matt Ryan or Carson Palmer, but do people think there is a big difference between Brees, Rodgers and Manning with Romo (3rd round), Schaub (3rd or 4th round) and Favre (5th or 6th round)? I did not mention Rivers because if Vincent Jackson and McNeil don't play then I don't think he will be very good this year.
