  1. Bill Simmons said it on his cast.

    I agree.

However, I feel like the chances of him playing 16 games is about 30%.

75% chance of 12 games played.

    Thoughts?

I have to agree as well.

I saw an article somewhere (maybe Matthew Berry?) comparing Vick's numbers last year to Tom Brady's 50 TD numbers a couple years ago.

    Brady's 50 TD year = 380 points

    Vick's 2010 game avg *16 games = 450

I don't remember the exact numbers but I think that's close to what the article had. The difference between what we consider one of the best fantasy QB seasons vs what Vick did last year is eye-popping. For the first time in my 15 year fantasy career, I'm considering taking a QB in the first round.

If Vick finishes the season, he's going to be an undeniable monster. There really can't be an honest debate on it. His only drawback is health.

A lot depends on your league format as well. I have a 14 team draft tonight where I'd be much more nervous taking Vick in the 1st vs my 10 team draft this weekend. You bust on your 1st rounder in a 14 team league and you're likely going to be toast no matter how the rest of your draft went.

  2. I'm really having trouble gauging his value though.

He doesn't have much value at this point. Nobody wants to give up much on him since he's burned everyone that's ever had him. Wait a couple weeks, see if he actually puts up some numbers, and his value will be much higher.

  3. Good luck. I know I wouldn't give up much of anything to get him and I doubt many others would either at this point. Your best bet is to use him as a throw in on a package deal...something like a good WR + Portis for a good RB.

  4. For those just browsing and trying to learn something, ... this guy FAILED.

cdogge has lost all credibility here. I hope he is better in real life.

Who knows, maybe Brown will be better than AP the rest of the way including playoffs. Maybe Smith and Jones continue their current pace.....

regardless, that is error, poor judgement, and ineptitude.

That's plain stupid. Based on the info in the original post, cdogge gave a pretty good assessment of the situation. I agreed that he would be giving up a little too much until I saw the roster he was working with and realized he was only giving up spare parts. If his starting RBs were Smith/Jones with McFadden and Forsett backing those 2 up, I'd rather have Smith/Jones than AP/waiver fodder as my starting RBs. And then losing S Smith, who could easily be the #1 WR on the team, as well? Ehhh, I would have passed on that deal.

Anyway, nice team, nos23. Looks like you went CJ, AJ, R White, R Brown, R Rice, T Jones, McNabb, Garrard then picked up Sims-Walker and Burleson off waivers or drafted in late rounds. If you're stupid, it's so stacked that it looks like a 8 team league roster...but that could easily have happened in a 12 team draft. Great job.

  5. reggie wayne.... wait, gonzalez is coming back and peyton might spread it out. moss.

What has Gonzalez, a career slot receiver, ever done to make you think he'd take numbers away from Wayne? Wayne will always get the lion's share of looks no matter how well Gonzalez does. Garcon/Collie are playing great and Wayne is putting up top 5 WR stats...no reason this changes.

  6. Don't be a focktard. You can still have your baseball and apple pie with all your white brethren whenever you want it. And I'm surprised more companies don't market directly to Hispanics. It's the fastest growing market out there.

Idiotic discussion over....welcome to the Ronnie Brown show!! He can run, catch, AND pass...nice series so far.

  7. What do you think is likely from the Lynch/Jackson combo going forward? The first game with Lynch back 2 games ago, the carries were 9 to 8 in Lynch's favor with him getting more numbers out of the passing game. Yesterday, Lynch again got more carries 17-14 and 6-2 favor in receptions as well. Is Lynch getting back into shape to become a feature back with Jackson getting some touches here and there...or is this headed the way of the NYJ Jones/Washington 50/50 split?

I need to trade one of them as I have a good opportunity with a decent bit of depth at the moment. MJD/Benson/TJones/Lynch/Jackson at RB and RWhite/GJennings/BMarshall/NBurleson/DHester at WR. Looking at a Jennings + Jackson package for an upper echelon type RB or WR but I'm not sure whether I want to keep Lynch or Jackson.

  8. Yeah, anyone who actually thinks the titans are as bad as that 0-3 record is misinformed. They just had a horrible start. Still a talented team.

I don't think they are 30 points a game bad, but losing Haynesworth really, really hurt that defense. With him there last season, they rushed 4 each play, got a ton of pressure, and were able to drop 7 back. This year, they have to take a bunch more chances to get pressure. The secondary is much more exposed now. I'm more comfortable starting Garrard than MJD in this game.

  9. Wallace or Anderson...pretty much a coin flip, IMO.

Josh Johnson shouldn't be starting over anyone other than Jamarcus Russell. Skins have looked like garbage, but I think they start to stabilize this week against TB. I wouldn't go anywhere near Johnson in this game.

  10. Russell started 15 games last season and the run game still had some value. You just aren't going to get ADP number from McFadden so I'm not sure why people are freaking. I don't think you should have drafted him expecting much more than 1000/6 with potential for some decent receiving numbers thrown in as well. He's a little slow on the numbers so far (on pace for around 800 rush yards) but he isn't drastically off expectations. One good game and he's back on track.

The main problem is that it's getting to be a crowded backfield now that Fargas is back. All 3 backs are going to get the ball and, not being in a prolific offense, there's only so many carries to go around. McFadden seemed to get 2/3 of the carries with Bush getting 1/3. With Fargas getting healthy, he'll get some carries now too...but will he cut more into McFadden or Bush? Or both evenly? I find it hard to believe that, if all 3 RBs are healthy, McFadden averages more than 12-14 carries a game. Call it 13 carries a game for 13 more games at 4.0 ypr (avg of last year's 4.4 and this year's 3.6) and add in the 150 he has now and that's a 975 yard season. You just hope he gets lucky and breaks a couple long TDs and starts catching more balls and he moves into the pretty solid #2 RB category.

  11. Look at where MJD, Turner, Deangelo Williams, Forte, and other high 1st rounders this year were picked last year. This will give you a clue as to how unimportant picking a running back in the 1st round is. Fact is, you don't need to. Is it against the grain to pick a WR first? Yes. But it works.

You win the award for the dumbest logic ever to make a decent point. You're right...you don't HAVE to pick a RB in the first round. That's about all you're right about as the rest is just dooshbaggery babble in an attempt to look like you know more than everyone else.

As it is every year, what you draft in the first round is totally dependent on what spot you draft from and which players are available. Nothing more, nothing less. You limit yourself by position, you run the risk of over-paying and missing value.
