  1. He shot 51% last year, but he is overhyped! 41% FT hahaha...is Shaq a better FT shooter, 47% FT 53% career FT shooter
Well it seemed to me, when the pressure was on Shaq made his. BW was literally like 0-8 in FTs one game. Come on! Your being paid millions to make baskets. If you cant make baskets, free ones were talking about, why am i going to pay you $52 million? Because your a big body who can defend, block shots, and reb? Id rather take someone of lesser defensive talent, but far GREATER offensive talent for half the price.

Sorry, maybe im overreacting, because he stunk it up in the finals, but we'll see how we do wthout him. Coulda been the coaching/game planning who knows.

  2. Im glad he took his no good, worthless ft shooting ass on to Chicago

Sorry, i wouldnt pay $52 million for some guy to grab rebs, blocks shots, but miss 95% of his shots.

    GO DET!

  3. Give Florida a break. This is the most troubling incident I can even think of since Spurrier came to town.
You ever hear about Tank Black? Tank Black and a slew of agents had almost the entire squad of UF "star players" on the payroll. What about Mo Collins....who admitted after the Fiesta Bowl against Nebraska that he was indeed receiving agent money!

There is SO much that you dont hear about!

  4. Florida has NOT been clean for years. Matters like this usually somehow get swept under the rug. A couple years ago their players were involved in big brawls (throwing kegs at people), but it was never really made public.

The Gaytors do all they can to hife their mistakes, but i dont think this is one you sweep under the rug. Heres a link about the Avery Atkins incident....

  5. WOW! Talk about a coward. What a freken punk. Theres already affidavit from the Daytona Police Department againts Avery Atkins for False Imprisonment and Battery against his girlfriend/babymama. According to the witness statement, Atkins held her against her will in car, drove her around and struck her in the face about 13 times. She said her face, lip, neck, and shoulders were all bruised and swollen.

Heres a quote from Urban Liar from the previous week about Avery Atkins in general.

Atkins missed the final week of spring practice to tend to some personal issues back in his hometown of Daytona Beach. He returned to Gainesville two days before the conclusion of spring drills, but the coaches did not allow him to play in the Orange and Blue Game.

"Avery is doing much better," Meyer said. "He's making up some things. He's in the doghouse pretty good. Absolutely. He didn't vanish (in the spring). He had to go home and take care of some very important issues. That's where he went."

I wanna see Urban try to sweep this one under the rug.

St. Louis School Superintendent Creg Williams said one Columbia Elementary school teacher was fired and another suspended with pay for the lack of attentiveness that authorities said led to a possible sexual assault on a school playground Friday afternoon.

The ten young men thought to be responsible for the attack, all first and second graders at Columbia, have also been suspended. The victim, an eight-year-old second grader, is undergoing counseling.

Williams said while she is physically sound, the victim has suffered "emotional scars." The child will remain out of school for the remainder of the school year.

The superintendent said he terminated and suspended the teachers –- who were on playground duty at the time of the 1:15 p.m. incident during recess –- after meeting Monday with the girl’s family and Columbia administrators.

"These individuals must be held accountable for the children left in their stead," Williams said at a news conference today. "I’m not messing around with this."

The teachers were responsible, he added, for keeping an eye on the entire playground when the first and second grade classes headed for recess following lunch on Friday.

"Adults have to walk around to supervise and not stand still and supervise," Williams said..

According to Williams, the teachers first became aware that something was amiss when a student alerted them to a "huddle" of young men congregated around the victim. The girl was taken immediately to the school nurse, Williams reported...

Betcha it was a big game of I'll show you mine if you show me yours.

  7. I didnt know where to put this, but heres a video of Wimbley (#95) going against all pro OT Eric Winston of Miami & Marcus Hagans, QB of Virgina. SPEED KILLS!

  8. FYI, you dont draft players that dont fit your system. Ernie fits their system nicely.

Sims DID have Vernon Davis on LOCK when they played each other. He had a diving INT that game.

  9. Yes, thats the ONE concussion i thought he had. Thats nice you provide all those links (about the same game), but i think you answered the question about his "concussions" in your own post.

"Ernie has had several concussions this year, but not bad," Bowden said. "In other words, he could play. But we wouldn't dare play him if it was a risk. I think he's making an improvement and this week he might be questionable."
I dont know where these "several concussions last year" came from. Most of them were mild concussions which probalby werent even addressed. First of all, he missed spring practice and some of summer workout because of his broken ankle. There were only 6 games prior to the Duke game.

    Miami- Played the whole game

Citadel- Played majority of the game (let backups play when they got a big lead)

    BC- Played the whole game

    Syracuse- Played the whole game

Wake Forest- Played the whole game

    Virginia- Suffered concussion

Also, during his introductory press conference with the Lions today he addressed the issue when asked about it:

"I had four of them that were minor concussions and one of them that was kind of serious."

  10. Heres a lil sum'n sum'n on Reid

Reid finally broke through for FSU's offense when he was picked in the third round by the Super Bowl champion Steelers.

Reid's big plays on special teams -- he had an 83-yard punt return for a touchdown against Virginia Tech and an 87-yard punt return for a touchdown against Penn State -- certainly helped his draft status.

In an interview with the Steelers' official web site, Pittsburgh receivers coach Bruce Arians said Reid was too good to pass up at that spot.

"He is another extremely fast quick guy who can play inside outside and is a great return guy," Arians said. "He is a dynamic player with the ball in his hands. In the Orange Bowl, he made some big plays as a punt returner. It is hard to pass on guys like that. He was ranked so high."

Reid said he had hopes of being drafted higher, but liked where he landed.

"I think everyone has expectations of being drafted higher than they really are," Reid said. "I'm just happy to be a Steeler, to be with the loyal fans, and to play for one of the great organizations in football."

As a senior, Reid posted 1,325 all-purpose yards leading the 'Noles. His statement games came on special teams in both the ACC Championship game and the Orange Bowl against Penn State where he returned a punt for a touchdown. The Super Bowl Champs are hoping to use Reid in as many ways as they can.

"They're bringing me in because I'm an all purpose guy," said Reid. "It'll be interesting to see how they use me."

The 5-foot-10, 188 pound athlete will be reunited with former Seminole Bryant McFadden when he reports to mini-camp in a few weeks.

"It'll be nice to know someone," said Reid,."I'm going to have to compete for a spot, but it's a big honor."

Reid is one of my all time favorite Noels. He is a class act, humble guy.

I don't really get into the hard line guarantee's of "this guy will fail" or "this guy will succeed."

But those of you who are counting WR out should note that he is in the same situation as Steve Smith with Carolina. Steve was considered too small and his first year he only caught 5 or 6 balls but lit it up on Special teams. Then he got more WR reps the next year and we all know about him now.

Reid's trophy case houses the ACC Championship and Orange Bowl MVP tropies and he ran a scorching 4.34 at the combine. He's got serious talent.

  11. Pros:Scott is a quick pass blocker and displays the footwork to slide well. In pass protection, he rarely has been bull-rushed and protects the outside very well using his long wingspan and strong hands to force rushers wide. He bends his knees well and has the flexibility to adjust to secondary moves. He has a huge, bulky frame with very long arms and displays power, agility and quick hands. He could easily start at right tackle early in the NFL. He has a strong lower body and he shows good movement at the point of contact with the strong leg drive. At the Senior Bowl, he showed pass protection skills and the ability to force rushers wide of the pocket.

Cons:At times he will be beaten off the edge by speed rushers, but graded out better in pass protection than as a drive blocker. He needs to flash better pop at the point of contact as well as finish stronger. He can get a powerful push at times, but he needs to show consistency in that area. He could show more nastiness and finish stronger. He will play high at times, which negates his power and athletic ability.

Numbers:At the Combine he ran the 40-yard dash in 5.35 seconds with a 24.5” vertical jump and an 8’5” broad jump.

Skinny: Some inconsistencies have hindered his final grade and likely put him behind the top four or five tackles. He starts a second tier of tackles in this deep class. He will probably go in the first 75 selections and is a good mid-first day pick with the Texans and Bills interested.

  12. Pat Watkins is a stud. I dont know how how he lasted till the 5th

copy & paste this into the broswer to view his highlight reel

    java script:void(window.open('http://cosmos.bcst.yahoo.com/up/sports?ch=396337&cl=401525','playerWindow','width=793,height=608,scrollbars=no'));

NFL.com has him as a tweener b/t safety and OLB, he is no way an OLB...then they go on to say one of his weaknesses is his long legs hinder his ability to change direction quickly, then in the next line they say how he is surprisingly good at moving his hips to cover tightends...then they say how he isn't a good tackler and misses way too many tackles...im sorry but i cant remember Pat ever missing tackles, one of the best open field tacklers i've seen at FSU.

  13. walt, sims did not miss a game in college because of his alledged concussions. therefore, he is no bigger a health risk than any other player who did not miss playing time in college.

wil backer position is vitally important in a cover-2 scheme, as are safeties. the lions got two important starters on day 1. your assessment of them being able to trade down and still get sims is a false one. at 9, he's not a reach: he was the 2nd-best linebacker in the draft on most boards and kiper had him going as high as 7 to oakland.

other than that, the grades are meaningless at this point.

If i remember correctly, he had ONE concussion, rest of them were him geting his bell rung. He did have a broken ankle at the beginning of last year. He was held out of practices because he was too much of a threat to his teamates and himself. Team officials and doctors looked into his injury history...there were no issue/complications.
