    Anthony Gonzo v. Lance Moore

Moore isn't the #2. Depending upon the site (Saints web site or Sportsline), he's the #3 or #4 on the depth chart (the Saints web site doesn't make a distinction between #3WR and #4WR). Moore is completely erratic in his fantasy performance and his past success has only come during the injuries of those in front of him. I wish you played in my league.

    Anthony Gonzo v. Lance Moore

Geez. Gonzo was predicted to have a GREAT year before getting hurt. He runs circles around Collie and Garcon...who nobody heard of until Gonzo got hurt (gee, I wonder why). Lance Moore is fine as a bye week replacement but Gonzo can consistently start as your #2 in the Indy offense. Now then, he may need to shake off a little rust but he'll very much be in shape. He is a workout out, physiological fiend. I'm actually somewhat surprised there is a comparison and an actual thread on this topic.

RB quandry - Kevin Smith or Ricky Williams

I would pick Ricky this week. Pittsburgh will own Detroit - i.e. Pittsburgh will be able to build a lead quickly and cause Detriot to play catch-up...which they will, of course do miserably. Smith will not be a big factor. At least with Williams, while the Jets defense is good, the Jets offense won't jump out to a big lead. The Jets-Dolphins game will be more balanced and afford Ricky better opportunities. He's actually playing relatively well so far this year even though he's not getting featured touches.

    Okie Dokie

I like Garcon a LOT this week. I guess you have to go with Burleson this week with Hass back. I'm not entirely sold on him yet but he's been donig pretty well so far.

Who to start? Choice, Grant, Moreno, LT?

Choice, Moreno and Grant. LT is too hobbled against a great defense and SD is something like 0-13 in Pittsburgh during regular season games (no, seriously).

    Week 4 RBs

If Portis were healthy, I would definitely say him against the Bucs D...even though Portis is very much hitting the decline in his career now. But, alas, Coach Hankey Spankey is spanked up so I would say Leon also. It's close, though, because Memo is excellent when they use him...

    Shaub or Rodgers. WDIS?

Schaub and expect AJ to have an off week with Revis covering. Sleeper WR this week is Walter.

    McGahee, or McFadden?

Actually, I would ride McFadden this week. Overall, I don't think he's long for this league but this is the one week where I think he can be productive.

    Hester and Manningham.

    Willie Parker - Turf Toe

Bones40 hit it - turf tow is painful, not enough to keep you out of the lineup but enough to affect your performance. It's really, really hard to get rid of unless you stay inactive for a long while. (think plantar fasciitis) As for Parker's "breakout", it wasn't so much his stats as it was his explosion, burst and quickness displayed last Sunday that has been missing for a while. The Steelers o-line has some serious issues but Parker actually showed some of his old skills. Will he continue to show those skills - not with turf toe.

    Pick my felx option

Slaton can still pick up receiving yards even if he is stuffed on the run...

    Which RB would you sit?

I know everyone is high on Fred Jackson right now (and I like him too) but the BUF offensive line is still very questionable as it Trent Edwards. I know they had a good showing against NE but the NE defenses is very different from last year's team (Vrable gone, Bruschi retired, Harrison retired, Jarod Mayo is injured, etc.). Jackson did well because the NE defense will be mediocre AT BEST this year. Also, Tampa Bay is not as bad as Dallas made them look. I expect Jackson to be serviceable but not put up as high of numbers as McFadden against a horrid KC defense and MJD.

    Jamal Lewis

Terrell Davis was a 6th round pick too...

    Braylon Edwards

Agreed. Don't underestimate Cribbs. Not sure if this will be his breakout year but he's like Devin Hester in that he has pure, raw talent and just needs some polishing.
  15. Was watching the Ohio State - Navy game today and noticed Ohio State has had a fair number of players that were sons of former pro athletes. Some recent ones I know of for Ohio State are: Duron Carter - son of Chris Carter Cameron Heyward - son of Craig "Ironhead" Heyward James Laurinaitus (last year) - son of pro "athlete" Joe Laurinaitus who was Road Warrior Animal of the infamous Road Warriors in pro wrestling Brian Robiskie (last year) - son of former NFLer (and current NFL assistant coach) Terry Robiskie Also, on the VT - 'bama game tonight, Russ Grimm's son plays LB at VT. I think there is someone else on Ohio State as well that I'm missing but it just made me wonder where are there other sons of pro athletes playing right now. Anyone have any others?

  17. Barry Foster - what an ultimate NFL bust...but apparently a thrify spender. From Wikipedia: http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Barry_Foster Specifically... In 1992, Foster became the starting running back and showed what he could do. He rushed for a Steelers single season record 1,690 yards and also broke Franco Harris' team record for 100-yard games in a season with 12, that also tied Eric Dickerson's NFL record for 100-yard games. He was voted to the Pro Bowl that year and also scored 11 touchdowns.... ...He left Pittsburgh for the Carolina Panthers in 1995 but was cut in training camp when he failed a physical. Later that season, he signed with the Cincinnati Bengals but retired a few days later without playing a game. He announced that he had saved his money and had enough to retire.

    Slaton, Westbrook, Turner

Slaton and Westbrook. I have Westbrook as well and I'm thinking of starting Slaton over him (and Thomas Jones as well). (My other start this week is Pierre). The danger with Westbrook is that they could rest him if they get up big, which is likely because Washington is playing like one of the 5 worst teams in the league - they are horrid right now and just a complete disaster of a team.

    Critical playoff call

I have Orton and Thigpen as well (plus Schaub who I'm starting this week). If it weren't for the weather, I would take Orton - the matchup is good. But since I think there's going to be some wind (plus being outrageously cold), I would take Hill in your situation. (Thigpen will have a decent week but probably not as good as Hill). Hill lit up the Rams in week 11 and I expect the same this week. Keep in mind that KC has the 30th rush defense and with Ronnie Brown and Ricky Williams, Miami will keep it on the ground and control the clock. i.e. Thigpen will be on the field less...

My RB "Happy" Problem - Choose 2

    Thanks everyone!
  21. I'm loaded at RB but I can only start 2. I've been mostly riding Thomas Jones all season (although not entirely and that has worked out well). Slaton was a nice surprise and great fill-in based upon match-up - especially when Westbrook was injured. Picked up Pierre on the WW - unfortuately after the trade deadline. (Also had Hillis for a few games...) Which 2 to start. I'm leaning towards Pierre and Slaton. Westbrook vs. WAS T Jones vs. SEA Slaton vs. OAK Pierre vs. DET (I think this is a must with Bush now out for the season and well, it's Detroit) Please help me solve my happy problem...leave link and I'll respond.

    Which QB? Championship game!

I love Schaub (in a platonic, manly way) but I've got to go with Cutler this week. I think Houston will be able to run on Oakland a lot and not need to pass much. It's not like the game is going to be a shootout with Oakland. With Cutler, they'll need to pass since their running game is a little patchy right now...of course, that makes it a little more difficult to pass sometimes. But Buffalo has given up 7 passing TDs in the past 4 games - not much yardage but definitely giving up the TDs. Go with Cutler.

    Garrard or Warner- bleh

greggmoh - sorry I didn't respond to this in time. I would've said Warner - Given the numbers Garrad put up last night, shows what I know...

    For the W!

I'd definitely go with Thigpen, Jackson and Jacobs. Caddy is stealing a pretty good load from Dunn and I expect they'll pretty much split these last 2 games of the season.

QB: Thigpen (vs SD) or Schaub (vs TENN)

I have the same choice and I'm going with Thigpen.
