    EJ Manuel

Sure you have - they are the ones who keep telling you that you have no idea what you are talking about.

    EJ Manuel

I am beginning to think either Orton or a bills fan stole your girlfriend. http://www.nfl.com/news/story/0ap3000000406584/article/jimbo-fisher-denies-badmouthing-ej-manuel-to-nfl-teams also, seems that story is bogus fwiw.

    EJ Manuel

only to someone who only stats (and some of the most misleading stats too boot) and not the eye test. Do you not see a theme here of Bills fans, who watch the games, all having the same opinion and then there's you.

    Allen Robinson vs O'doyle Beckham?

a lot of mouths to feed in NY. I think Allen Robinson will more constantly catch 5-6 balls, while Beckman will have games where he does squat.

Kyle Orton New Starting QB in Buffalo

How can you "tell me so,"? I am unsure if you are able to read and comprehend my statements. I hope this is more clear - I am in now way arguing that Orton will win tons of games and be a franchise quarterback. I think its entirely possible the bills are 5-5 in 6 weeks. I certainly hope they are better, but they are still a pretty good team with a weakness at the most important position, quarterback. My point is that I believe Orton gives them a better chance of winning at the moment than Manuel did, and watching every snap they both have played this year has only strengthened that belief. It might only be a minor upgrade, but it can be the difference between winning and losing (as we saw in Detroit) and I am glad my team is doing the best they can to try to win.

pot, meet kettle. Also, the point of this thread was to discuss Orton replacing Manuel - not the state of the Bills and their future. Is there a chance all that you just projected happens, sure. However, rather than speaking in conjecture, why don't we reflect on what has happened - which is that Orton won a game in Detroit doing things Manuel hasn't shown he could do.. Orton is not a franchise quarterback, but to get back to the actual point of the thread, If I had to choose a starter to play next week it's Orton, and its not close.

Kyle Orton New Starting QB in Buffalo

I agree with much of this - but i liked the move up to get a potential franchise player in Watkins (only time will tell if he lives up to that, but it is what they were trying to do.) Also, I agree with taking a QB in every draft until we find one, but not necessarily with our 1st round pick. 1st round picks should be about trying to get a starter and value - if that happens to be at the QB position, all the better.

I'm confused, Who are you quoting? you are telling a bills fan how they view their players?, I can tell you as a bills fan, who lived in Buffalo, no one thought of SJ or Price in the same light they view Watkins - and rightfully so. Watkins was a 4th overall pick while Price and SJ were 53rd and 224th, respectively. Also, what does Vick have to do with bills fans? The bills suckered the Falcons into giving a first round pick for him, a move that I (and other bills fans) loved.

First, they traded down to get EJ (and got Kiko Alonso with the extra pick) so not sure what you mean. Also, don't think they are the first team to miss on a draft pick- it happens...to all teams, all the time. Lastly, what does trading up to get watkins have to do with Manuel - they traded up to get him because they thought he was an elite player at the WR position, a position they do not have any superstars at.

I think you are confusing "instant gratification" with trying to win football games. Manuel was only their guy because they had not better options, they went threw camp and preseason and realized that, hence why they signed Orton. Did they want him to come out and look like a franchise QB - of course, but it just didn't happen. The reality is that he played poorly last season, in the preseason, and in his 4 starts this season and anyone who watched the games could tell you this. So why not bench him and try to have him learn on the bench - obviously starting him wasn't developing him properly - and if his confidence is so shaken by being benched, then he never had the mental makeup to be an NFL QB anyways...

And how will you be proven right? If EJ put's it together and becomes a viable NFL starter in the future - then they made the right decision by benching him and letting him learn and grow as a backup. If he never starts again, well then they were right to bench him and put themselves in a better position to win games now and compete for a playoff spot.

They are on top of the AFC east at the moment - that's what the organization is trying to accomplish. They have identified that Manuel is not ready - so he will sit and try to get better. If he doesn't get better, they move on. Is a better plan for the organization to let and otherwise good team loose games and fail with a QB who is not NFL quality - makes no sense.

This. However, don't waste your time discussing/arguing your with JT or Dabeerz. While it is obvious that you watch the games, based on your accurate understanding, you will be contradicted by people who have no idea what they are talking about.

ya, curious to see if JT comes back to eat some crow. Its only one game, but pretty obvious which qb gives the bills a better chance to win.

The Rain, The Park, And Other Things

rain might be that last straw for Cordarelle Patterson, might bench him. Would be helpful if my best other options weren't Sanu, Justin Hunter, and Denard Robinson (can play him as WR).
  19. ffexpert

    Let's talk Denard Robinson

I think he is worth a look for sure - you have a guy with a 5-7 point minimum based off approximately 8-10 carries and a couple catches carries going forward, anything he does above that is gravy. In a 12 team league, that is not a bad option as a WR3

You must have a very unfulfilling life to get so worked up on a fantasy football message board - you should talk with someone about that. I am sorry that you cannot understand the distinction between acting like an authority on a subject and proclaiming to be an expert. Ultimately, I stand by my assertion, and I think most people agree (especially those who watch bills games), that the Bills have a better chance of winning with Orton than Manuel.

Kyle Orton New Starting QB in Buffalo

I think you are missing the point - I never said I thought the bills would make the playoffs or that Orton would lead them their. What i am saying is If you watched the games, there is no chance you would believe that EJ gives the bills a better chance of winning games than Orton. Isn't that what teams are trying to do? Also, from a fantasy prospective I think Orton provides for good potential buy lows on Watkins and/or spiller.

Kyle Orton New Starting QB in Buffalo

Ok so you know 12 teams make the playoffs: 8th in defense is 8th in defense - you can't watch the games and not think buffalo has a pretty good defense - Playoff caliber, check The team is 13th in rushing- also, don't you think they would run a little more effectively if they had any threat of passing efficiently -. Playoff caliber, check. You didn't address special teams, so im assuming you know those are playoff calibre. Look, I most definitely do not have rose colored glasses. Orton is not the answer, but I think he certainly gives an otherwise solid team a better chance of winning. Also, I think you are incorrect to thing they are giving up on EJ - as the plan was for him to sit behind a veteran (kobb) for a few years and learn the position. Even if they are giving up on him, so be it, he hasn't shown he can be an effective quarterback at the NFL level and I would rather move on to trying to find our franchise quarterback then settle for years of below average QB play.

I really don't think reading comprehension is your strong suit. I never said that you claimed to be an expert, I was pointing out that stated you do not watch the games but you were acting like an expert.

Kyle Orton New Starting QB in Buffalo

Great, you entered you opinion and I entered mine - which is that you are incorrect in your line of thinking. I never said you claimed to be an expert, but you seem pretty defensive for someone who admittedly doesn't watch EJ paly. The stats you are using, and sequentially defending to validate you opinion are misleading and I think almost anyone who watches Bills games can substantiate that.

The intent was not to "anoint him the starter, " He was drafted as a project with the intent of taking their time with him. Kolb was supposed to be the starter - but injuries ruined that plan. They fixed that by paying quite a bit for a backup in Kyle Orton.
