Wow, really? For sake of comparison, what WRs do you think his value is closer to? Maybe I overvalue Decker and Brown, but how much better of a WR is anyone really gonna give for Spiller?

Charles, 16 carries 87 yards Hillis, 7 carries 16 yards, 3 rec 8 yards So after a week 1 loss the split was 16-10 in terms of touches, and Charles looked much better and produced more. Hillis didn't vulture any TDs either. As a Charles owner I'm pretty happy about that after the incessant Hillis chirping.

Great post overall. To respond to your specific questions: A. Im not sure but Im glad you specified "in week 1" because there are certainly going to be guys that come out of the woodwork to make the RB depth seem better later in the year. B. I went RB heavy early in 2/2 of my standard scoring leagues. In one league I snagged a top 3 RB, in the other I took 2 RBs at the turn. I still feel good about both rosters. I'm not sure that there is necessarily a "more 'sure thing'" next year either. My main question is that considering the points you have made about the state of the RB position, don't you see a decided advantage for any owners who were lucky enough to pair a top 3 RB with another solid RB2? Very few teams will be able to claim that, and those that do seem like they will have a nice weekly advantage for it.

Ouch. Terrible for a 10 teamer, and unappealing for a 12 teamer. You have no dominant RB's or WR's with very little upside to any of them, making your roster feel very thin and prone to get beat up if your opponent has nice skill position players. I like the guys you got for $2 though, there's some value there. Spiller at $8 is nice too. But you wayyy overpaid for Jennings/Cruz at $72. IMO that's what crippled your team. Without seeing the other rosters in the league, I'd still bet that there are at least a few I would choose over yours. If you take the $72 you spent on Jennings/Cruz and the $52 you spent on McGahee/Benson/Spiller/Miles, thats $124 on your top 6 RB/WR's and you couldn't do better than what you got? I have a hard time believing you couldn't have spent $124 dollars with better results or at least a stud or two. Rodgers is butter but not enough to cover the whole slice, you're just gonna be spread way too thin.

Percy Harvin to me is one of the most interesting WR prospects because of his rushing attempts. And despite having a crap QB and offense, he still came out as the 8th best WR in 2011. What are you expecting from him this year? Is 1100 rec yds, 8 rec TDs, 400 rush yds, 1 rush TD reasonable?

First of all I cant believe Gates has been balling in the NFL for 10 freaking years, that's incredible. I remember watching his Kent St team play college hoops. But onto more pressing matters, I'm curious to see where you guys project Gates' TD total this year. The stars are seemingly aligned for a big year; Gates is healthy, last year's #1 WR in SD is gone, another of Rivers' favorite targets is severely injured, and the running game will be shaky until Matthews proves he's back. And did I say Gates is healthy? All this leads me to believe that he is in for a big year, and I see his yardage total at 1000 with the potential to go higher if things go very well. Feel pretty good about that projection, but I'm more curious about TD's. Gates' season high was 13 TDs in his sophomore year, way back in 04 or 05. I think he could easily match that this year if the Chargers can get the ball in the red zone consistently. What say you? I think anything less than 10 would be a disappointment.

For any people that think Adrian Peterson is not healthy enough to be effective at the beginning of the season, you've got to think Harvin explodes in the mean time. He's Minnesota's only playmaker, he has proven chemistry with Ponder, and they give him carries. And he'll probably take a kick off to the house at some point too. He's going to have all the opportunity in the world if AP doesn't come back the same as he was.

Can someone with knowledge of the Giants secondary tell me who is matching up with Dez all game, and whether it's a favorable matchup for him? There's a lot of big name players in the Cowboys/Giants Wednesday night game, so I'm sure we all have a lot riding on it.

I don't believe that the Jags are just going to give Jennings the "ceremonial" start and then let MJD run the rest of the game. Jennings has earned his start and they're going to honor that for the first game, in my opinion. I'm counting on Jennings to run a full game's worth of carries, so that means MJD isn't playable week 1 unless you're in a deep league.

I'm with you. And the thing that people are also forgetting is that Charles has never been a high volume carry guy. It doesn't matter if Hillis gets a fair share of touches, Charles' game has always been about breaking off big ones. You don't need 20 carries to be the fantasy goods when you're capable of ripping off 40+ yarders at a moment's notice. Let Hillis get his, there will still be plenty left and more for Charles. And people keep mentioning that Charles going down with an injury is part of Hillis' upside. That's true, but you have to say the same if the tables were turned. If Hillis ever went down with an injury or couldn't perform, Charles' value sky rockets if you believe the 50/50 Hillis hype. Can you imagine Charles as the unquestioned workhorse in KC? That's top 5 RB potential.

Well to be fair, the Chiefs have explicitly stated that they want Hillis and Charles to receive a 50/50 workload split by season's end. But I agree with you that we may not see that on the field.

How many better RB2s are there than Charles? Big play homerun hitter who has an easy schedule.

Bush is a superior running back, but he just doesn't have the opportunity that Hillis does.

I have an offer from a different team thats Hillis for Mike Wallace. Does that change anything for you?

RB's are at a premium in this league due to a few teams successfully hording them during the draft. I'm considering giving Peyton Hillis for Antonio Brown. 10 Teamer. Would you do it? Obviously Brown is the higher drafted player but I love my RB depth. Some teams in my league are starting guys like Greene, Ridley, Green-Ellis as RB2s and sometimes RB1's (yikes!).
