  1. Fox Sports' James Brown said Jason Campbell's "done for the year." Broken collar bone. He is survived by the 2 lousy points he left those who had the misfortune to start him today. I'm not seeing any other person specifying how long he's to be out with most just confirming the broken collarbone. http://profootballtalk.nbcsports.com/2011/10/16/report-jason-campbell-has-broken-collarbone/ Colston broke his collarbone and is still playing after a few weeks' absence, but then he's also not making frequent passing motions.

    Question about Tebow

The Newton controversy ended with the Heisman win and NCAA investigation. Right now he's just an excellent rookie QB but one who has yet to win half his games, something Tebow, as terrible as he may be, can say, and that's with a much worse supporting cast. Plus "everyone" is impressed by what Cam is doing while Tebow, for whatever reason, has people tuning in to watch him succeed or fail.

That sounds plausible, but then it's been two months now of actual game days and workouts. Any flab or lack of pushing it in workouts should have been resolved by now. I'm sure the team is monitoring his routine since getting his big payday. I want to see him in action for myself for a bit, but I get the feeling he really is just mailing it in. Everyone knows RBs burn out quick. He's been running hard for a few years now and finally got his money. No need to risk long term injuries and health concerns which can ruin his quality of life down the road, especially when he's likely to hang it up in three or so years whether he wants to or not due to health and age.

    Meachem is a mutt !

Brees, Graham, Sproles, and Colston are the only ones worth starting. Meachem, Henderson, and Moore are desperate plays at this point for those hoping for a bye week home run that's unlikely to come. Jed Collins would be a better waiver play given how many goal line TDs he vultures. Ingram and Thomas are generally good for about five points; would be an okay fill-in except that these were guys people actually drafted and still hold some value, however slight.

    Ray J, not Reggie.

    Chris Johnson going forward?

Well, he was increasing his totals with each game prior to this Sunday. It certainly contributed to the notion that he was gradually getting back into the swing of things. I believe Sunday was a fluke in that regard. He is better than that. He has to be. That said, he's also not likely to produce anywhere near as expected. The only thing which keeps him worthy of starting over other backs is that he remains the sole carrier on the team, which is beyond rare these days. It doesn't make it a better situation than would having either DMC or M. Bush, but it's still a positive. Sorta. I swear. If they're not dropping like flies, then they're posting some ugly numbers and falling short. Feels like we're in a dead-ball era for FF.
  7. How in the world do you have both ADP and Foster? Kinda hard to brag when playing with a stacked deck.

    This Tebow thing

Damn, if I knew Rodgers was going to be a top QB this week, I wouldn't have started Beck! I look forward to a future full of your amazing insights until the eventual ban.

    Chris Johnson going forward?

http://www.tennessean.com/article/20111023/SPORTS01/111023003/Texans-hammer-Titans-41-7?odyssey=tab|topnews|text|Sports%20Tennessee%20Titans If CJ's the same player as last year, wouldn't the line be made up of the same? I haven't had a chance to watch any Titans games to see. CJ had a 100+ yard game against the Browns in week 4. Yeah, it's the Browns, but I think it and a couple other totals show he's not exactly dead, at least not all the time.

    Tim Tebow!

ESPN doesn't send ball after ball sailing ten yards over his WRs heads. I will say that he should be allowed the typical rookie window so many players go through to adjust to the NFL, but Tebow really needs to be more accurate than he currently is regardless as a starting QB. He struggles with his reads. He has difficulty passing. This is year two. He remains a poor QB. Until he can pass further than he can run on a consistent basis, better teams will stack the line and make life difficult for him. He won't find a more inviting opponent for the rest of the year, an away game in a place he long made his home against a bottom feeding team whose fans rooted for him more than their own QB. The Sanchize can occasionally win a game for his team and do well in spurts. That doesn't make him a good QB, either.

    Official Week 7 F.U. thread........

CJ, earn your money. Don't be Jamarcus and get fat and lazy once you get paid. You should be "football ready" by now. Shurmur, you give Hardesty 30 carries. Do that for Hillis. Do it now. You're not in the running for Luck. Shanny, I'd blame you, but I should know better. Still hate you. Torain will be dropped first thing, and you'll tempt me again next week. I won't buy it. I can't wait for this nightmare season to end.

    Waiting for Tebot

Tebow's first half results are pitiful. He's lucky the Broncos recovered his fumble. Tebow can't be this terrible, right? He did well last year. He did well this year. He's playing Miami. What's the deal?

Holy crap. He has to get this 2 pt. conversion. He's the chosen one.

    Waiting for Tebot

Tebow's never been a great passer, but he has done it in the past, as recently as a couple of weeks ago. Does the Lloyd trade have anything to do with his poor play, perhaps the other WRs being terrible and unable to break away from the enhanced coverage they now draw? Is the over reliance on Tebow-friendly play calling making the team that predictable for defenses?

Torain's on the board! 1 carry for 2 yards! Update: 2 carries for -5.

    D-Bag Move?

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=W42iiCcFbxE I'd be fine with it. I agree that there should be rules in place, not to prevent such tactics but rather to discourage them, such as forcing players to retain a player for a full day or two. So, you'd still be able to work the system but at the expense of your own bench. If there is not, then tough luck. The rules are in place, and in a league where only 32 start, it already puts great importance on that position, more so if you need to start two. I see this as no different than, say, when Morris was pegged as the starter over Best. That occurred after the usual mid-week waiver period, meaning it became first come, first serve. You wouldn't prevent someone from grabbing him unless the Best owner had a shot or would give someone with weak depth in the RB spot first claim in the name of sportsmanship. The same goes here.

I know he's "just a kicker," but he's been an awesome "just a kicker" this season, tied for first in points in my league. What are owners doing with him? Cutting him outright or looking for a fill-in and leaving him on the bench? At his age, I have to wonder if he'll heal quickly from this injury, so I guess I'll be dropping him like many seem to be doing as well.

Janikowski out against KC; maybe more

Having to waste two spots on kickers to carry Janikowski through the bye is bad enough, but having to cut someone to do it is killing me right now. Since I can add and make the move prior to kickoff, I've held off on cutting him outright hoping the situation would improve as more information came out. I'm targeting Conner Barth. He's coming off a great game against NO (17 points in my league), plays for a pretty weak Bucs team, and is going against Chicago. It's just a matter of who to axe to make room for him.
  22. Does the NFL on-line pass show all games including blackouts? I know I came close to getting the NBA's version last year but backed out once I saw how many games were not available due to such restrictions, defeating the purpose of paying for such a service. Right now I just use a P2P site for out of market games which is free but generally poor quality.
  23. I thought it was amusing. Then instead of weathering the expected mild backlash, you whine more than anyone else has in this topic who you've now pegged as "limp wristed sissies."

    Saints Fans...What's up with J.Graham?

Shouldn't be serious. Probably just a precaution. With David Thomas returning to the available lineup, the team won't have to lean on Graham as much as it has... which is probably worse news for Graham owners than any insignificant break from practice. I wouldn't worry much though, cause it's easily apparent that Graham is the man and will still be the main TE out there.
