  1. Trade for Sanchez? I’m 5-5 in a 14 team PPR league where 8 teams make the playoffs and I need a QB. Lost Foles, but replaced him with Palmer. Waiver wire pickings are weak: McCown, Bridgewater, Austin Davis, Carr, Hoyer, Stanton, Metternburgler etc.

The Luck owner has Sanchez and needs WR help. If you had my roster would you trade Wayne or Torrey Smith for Sanchez or grab somebody like McCown off waivers and roll the dice?

Note: QBs get 1pt for 25 yards and 4 points for TDs (-2 for INTs).

We Play: QB, 2RB, 2WR, Flex (RB/WR/TE), TE, K, DEF

My team:

    QB: ?

RB: Denard Robinson, Gore, R. Bush, Pierre Thomas, Ball

WR: A. Brown, Mike Floyd, Wayne, Torrey Smith, JOSH GORDON

    TE: J. Graham

  2. Thanks in advance for your help.

I'm in a 12 team 1pt PPR (Yahoo) and we can keep 1 player for the next two years. We get them in the same round we drafted them last year.

We play 1 QB, 3 WR, 2 RB, TE, K, DEF.

    - RBs and WRs get 1 pt per 10 yards (bonus at 100 etc)

    - All TDs are 6pts. Top QBs dominate based on scoring system.

Which one player below would you keep?

    - McCoy (for my 2nd rd pick)

    - Ryan Mathews (8th)

    - Fred Jackson (10th)

A week and a half ago I was certain Mathews would be my guy based on the best value, but now it's up in the air. I can see the logic in keeping any of the RBs.

  3. McCoy's upside and floor are high and plays in a high octane offense with no competition.

While Ryan Matthews is the best value, but yet to show he is durable.

Fred Jackson is a good choice but will be sharing carries with C.J. Spiller.

    My Choice would be McCoy.

    Thanks for asking!

Thanks a lot for your prompt reply. One thing I left out though. The player I keep I get for the next TWO years in the same round. Would it change your mind at all knowing that this season and next season I would get Mathews in the 8th round?

  4. I'm in a 12 team 1pt PPR (Yahoo) and we can keep 1 player.

We play 1 QB, 3 WR, 2 RB, TE, K, DEF.

    Things to know:

    - Last season the top QBs scored hundreds more points than top RBs (1pt 25 yrds, 6pt TDs and 2,4,6 pt bonus for yards).

    - RBs get 1 pt per 10 yards (bonus at 100 etc)

    - WRs get 1 pt per 10 yards (bonus at 100 etc)

  5. Sure, Jennings is great, but he's currently battling post-concussion symptoms and will definitely be available into the 3rd round of most 10 team PPR leagues. No way you give up the 18th overall pick for him right now.

VJax is the way to go here by a mile. Sure, there's risk due to the Tampa offense, but this is how you win leagues. If he takes care of business you've basically gotten him for free and you still have your 2nd rnd pick.

  6. That's too easy, McCoy is going as a top 4 overall pick, so him as a 2nd rounder should be your choice.

Thanks to everyone who answered so far. I was secretly leaning towards McCoy because of the security, but a 2nd round pick is so much more valuable than an 8th or 10th it's hard to decide.

I can't imagine McCoy having a year like last year with 20 TDs, but I'm hoping his receptions go back to 2010 numbers and he should be great in PPR.

  7. Right now I have ballard and there is potential I could gain alex green in a trade that would contain vick ballard. basically i would be trowing in a 5th rd rookie in a 16 team league. any thoughts?

Well, you answered mine so thanks. However, I'm going to do you a favor and not answer yours because this is way over my head. I'm only in my second year of FF and I can barely keep up with the goings on in a 12 team league with 1 keeper.

Good luck and at least this post will give you a bump!

  8. You guys seem to agree that I should not be afraid to take a RB with my first pick if there is a good one available. My question is how should I decide on whether to take a RB or WR with my 1st pick? Simply, if the #8 RB and #9 WR is available I should go with the RB? What cheat sheet/projections should I use?? Can you give me some scenarios based on the RB's and WR's that are available from the list below? In other words if any of these 3 RB's are available at the 7th pick take them over any of the WR's.....See list below

RB's----Sproles, Turner, Matthews, R Bush, S Jackson, Fred Jackson, M Bush, F Gore, T Richardson, A Bradshaw, J Stewart, B wells, Mendenhall, P Thomas, D McFadden, Cj Spiller, J Best

    WR's----L Fitz (prob wont be available), a johnson, J Nelson, S Smith (Car), P Harvin, B Marshall, M Colston, m Wallace, H Nicks, V Jax, G Jennings, P Garcon, R Wayne, D Jackson, B Loyd

Yes, don't be afraid of a RB with your first pick. Injuries are common and it will also give you a chance to make a trade if necessary. Also, there's the playoff schedule and teams being out of the race at the end of the season. Last year McCoy killed a lot of people in week 16. That said, great possession WRs in PPR leagues are money. Last season in my league WELKER (i haven't seem him mentioned) was the #2 overall WR and he should do great again. Nicks, Andre Johnson and Jennings (check health) are all big time WRs that you should consider.

    Good luck.

If anybody has a second please help with mine:

  9. I'm in a 12 team 1pt PPR Yahoo league and we get to keep 1 player from last season (get them in same round as last year) and we get them for the next TWO years (forgot to add this before).

    Things to know:

    - Last season the top QBs scored hundreds more points than top RBs (1pt 25 yrds, 6pt TDs and 2,4,6 pt bonus for yards). The top QBs scored hundreds more points than top RBs.

    - I won't know my draft postion until after everyone declares their keeper (I suspect Brady, Rodgers, Stafford and maybe Brees to be kept).

    - RBs get 1 pt per 10 yards (bonus at 100 etc)

    - WRs get 1 pt per 10 yards (bonus at 100 etc)

    - We play 1 QB, 3 WR, 2 RB, TE, K, DEF

Which one player below would you keep (and why if you have time):

    - McCoy (for my 2nd rd pick)

    - Brandon Marshall (4th)

    - Colston (6th)

    - Ryan Mathews (8th)

    - Fred Jackson (10th)

A week ago I was certain Mathews would be my guy based on the best value, but now it's up in the air. I can see the logic in keeping any of the RBs.

Thanks in advance for your help. Leave a link and I will help with yours.

  10. So what was your best trade or pick up this year?

    I had two:

#1 Trading Cedric Benson for Matthew Stafford at the start of week 3

    &

#2 Picking up David Akers at the start of week 3.

Both of those led me to the championship last week!

No doubt, picking up Cam Newton on waivers after somebody dropped him after a poor performance in week 3. After that, grabbing Laurent Robinson after Austin's second hammy was huge.

And I have to give props to the David Akers and the SF D which I had for the second half of the season (and I HATE the niners).

I should mention, I did play Gaffney over Robinson in my championship game and it made a big difference, but the game was won by Cam, Brandon Marshall, and finally getting help at TE from Gresham.

  11. Laurent has been my fantasy rock these past 4 or 5 weeks, but felt like I just got lucky with his td catch last week. He wasnt on the field all that much.

Is he still a solid play for the 'ship? Who is sticking with him, and if you are benching him who is it in favour of?

Right now I've got Gaffney playing over LRob. I'm torn though, and I may change my mind tomorrow morning after hearing the latest on his shoulder. I'm in what looks to be a really tight finals game and if Gaffney can pull in 6-7 balls for 75+ yards that would be solid in PPR.

I'd ask God for help, but, well... he doesn't know the NFL very well unless it's the Broncos...

  12. Damn, I really thought he was gonna get me double digits this week.

    Go Gresham!

For the Dolphins, tight end Anthony Fasano has been ruled out with a head injury. The other three players on Miami's injury report -- cornerback Will Allen, tackle Jake Long, and receiver Brandon Marshall -- all participated fully in today's practice and are listed as probable.

  13. Matthews over CJ and its not close. Gresham is your best bet at TE. Id go with Gaffney over Laurent due to higher targets and Minnesota is awful against the pass. As for defense I would go with either SF or HOU. Both are top 5 options in my opinion.

    Thanks for answering mine.

Thanks for your input. I'm either going to start Gresham or Fasano. If Fasano is healthy, I like his match up and he's avg 10 pts a game over the past 3 games in our league. The Gaffney vs Robinson debate is tough. I really want to play LRob because he's money when it matters, but Gaffney will see more targets - no question.

Glad the dude I'm playing grabbed HOU. They only got 6 pts tonight and I figured they'd get at least 12.

  14. Non-ppr league championship game. Not sure what the world is coming to when this is even a question but Reggie has been on fire and is more importantly healthy while Peterson may still be a risk considering he is still recovering form his ankle sprain and his workload is not certain. Normally I'd roll with AP regardless because he is a stud but Reggie has been a top 5 back the last month. Do I stick with him in a game for all the marbles or do I run our All Day and sink or swim with the guy who brought me to the championship game? My other RB is Foster so playing them both is not an option.

Thanks in advance to all those who reply. Leave a link and I will respond.

I can't imagine a scenario where Bush is on your bench. Minn has nothing to play for and they're on the road - likely in crappy weather - and AP isn't 100%.

    My dilemmas:

    http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=398141

  15. 1. Mathews

    2. Gresham

    3. L. Robinson (he only had three targets because Dallas got out to such a big lead against the Bucs. Shouldn't be an issue this week.)

    4. S.F. Def

Thanks Larry. I also think Robinson will see more targets, but it's still a tough decision in PPR. I'm expecting Gaffney to see close to 10 targets and I'm still strongly considering him.

  16. Help me pick which 2 RB's to start, standard scoring, non ppr:

    A. Peterson @ Wash.

    C. Johnson vs. Jax.

    C. Spiller vs. Den.

    R. Helu vs. Minn.

    F. Jones vs. Philly.

    And which 3 WR's:

    R. White @ NO

    V. Jackson @ Det.

    M. Colston vs. Atl.

    M. Austin vs. Philly.

I'm already starting J. Witten at TE so I don't want to start too many Cowboys. Please leave a link and I will see yours, thanks in advance.

I'd go AP and Spiller because it's standard and CJ hasn't exactly been putting up big yards and Felix may be gimpy.

Sit Austin. I think Philly will play well and do their best to slow him down. However, keep an eye on V Jax. If his groin is really a problem your decision may be made for you.

  17. I'm thinking of starting Percy & Julio, and then deciding between Santana Moss & Laurent Robinson for my flex spot. Moss is apparently the #1, but he's not producing like it...however he has a better matchup than Laurent. Tough one. Thoughts?

Bonus question: Matt Ryan or Cam Newton? We get 1 point per completion and yardage bonuses, so I'm leaning toward Ryan.

I'd lean on starting Moss, not just because his match-up is better, but because Robinson only saw three targets last week. That really worries me. Of course, if I sit him, he'll catch 6 balls for 100 yrds and a TD vs PHI because they'll be worried about Austin and Dez.

I would play Cam this week. Last week I played Ryan, and it worked out (by a few points), but I envision Cam going nuts this week at home against a brutal TB team. I think he'll have a huge game throwing and running. HUGE.

    Good luck!

  18. So, against all odds, I made it to the final game as FF rookie. I'd like to thank everyone on the board who has responded to any of my previous posts and I'd especially like to thank the NYG vs WAS for playing a ridiculous game that saved my season (the guy I beat had Nicks, Cruz, and Grossman playing... and Reggie Bush, but I don't want to talk about that).

Cam, McCoy, Marshall, Colston, and Akers are obviously starting. Now I need to make a couple moves to tweak my team.

We start 1 QB, 2 RB, 3 WR, 1 TE, 1 DEF, 1 K. Here are my questions:

    1) Do I start CJ1K (vs JAC) or Mathews (@DET) as my #2 RB?

    2) Every week I choose the wrong TE. I'm thinking of dumping Daniels (@CAR) for Fasano (@NE) or maybe Gresham (vs AZ). There's also a couple wild cards available like Jared Cook (vs JAC), Todd Heap (@ CIN - 9 targets last week), or Heath Miller (vs STL).

    3) Do I play L. Robinson this week (vs PHI) or Gaffney (vs MIN)? Last week Robinson only had 3 targets all game. Luckily one was a TD, but 3 targets is scary. Other players available that I don't trust as much are Titus Young, Doug Baldwin, James Jones, David Nelson and Eric Decker.

    4) DEF matters. Last week I played CIN (7pts) over SF (18pts) and it easily could have cost me the game. So, who to play this week? SF (@SEA) or CIN (vs AZ). HOU (@IND) is also available, as is WAS (vs MIN), but I dont' trust them as much.

Thanks in advance for you thoughts.

  19. I drafted Chris Johnson in the 2nd round, and started him in the majority of weeks this year. He's had a couple of good weeks but mainly he's been a major disappointment. I think Tennessee has lost all hope for any kind of playoff dreams, and Chris Johnson doesn't seem motivated anymore. I did manage to wriggle into the championship game despite having Chris Johnson this season.

    (Tue, Dec 20

Although Johnson's ankle is sore, tests on the ankle came back negative, Tennessean writer Jim Wyatt reports.

Recommendation: Johnson will officially be listed as "questionable" and should miss some time during practice this week going into Saturday's game against the Jaguars. If Johnson is unable to play, the Titans will not have many options to run the ball beyond rookie Jamie Harper.

    (Rotowire.com))

I know the pathetic stats Chris Johnson puts up when he's not motivated and it's enough to sink your game for the week. I also read somewhere that one of the passes that was in the direction of Chris Johnson ended up being intercepted. The thing is, is that the coach said Chris Johnson could've put up more of a battle on that pass so it wouldn't have been intercepted. So, my read is that the coach isn't liking his play and Chris Johnson won't have any reason to play with any gusto if at all. So, the plan I dreamt up is to drop Chris Johnson for somebody(anybody at this point), and try to get my opponent to pick him up and start him against me. It may not be a big enough bullet to sink his whole team, but it will probably put his team in great jeopardy of losing if he does play CJ.

If you do this, and CJ plays well, which is highly possible, you will never be able to forget it. The Titans are a desperate team and they should rally at home against a terrible JAC team - especially coming off last weeks loss to IND. CJ's ankle is supposedly fine and they should run him 20-25 times assuming they're ahead.

I haven't decided yet if I'm going to run CJ or Ryan Mathews (it won't be Blount!), but I think CJ has another big game in him with the chips on the line. Of course, I'm in a PPR league and his ability to catch passes pads his meager stats. Anyway, you don't have to play him, but I wouldn't put him up for grabs.

  20. I hope phillyjinx went with Mathews. If I had played him over CJ1K I'd be in the Finals already. Anyway, if I get a few points tomorrow night from Akers, I'll have a tough decision to make next weekend. Well, the way Mathews has been going, maybe not that tough.

  21. I've ridden Cam Newton ever since I picked him up after week #1. But all the Fantasy Football websites have Cam and Romo almost neck and neck BUT Romo's projected stats are WAY better since Cam is up against the strong Texans defense - which have allowed very few passing or rushing TDs.

The other problem is my opponent has L. Robinson and F. Jones which can negate some of Romo's numbers since we are 4pts for QB passing TD (6pts rush/rec).

    So.....Cam or Romo?

Well, I wouldn't be concerned with who the other guy has because the numbers will be the numbers regardless. I think Romo is going to yield more fantasy points and that's the way I would go. In fact, I went with Matt Ryan over Cam last night and Ryan (even though he was pulled late in the 3rd qrtr) got about 27 points which I think is more than Cam will get. And the guy I was facing had Julio Jones who ended up with 20. But, points are points.

FYI, I'm hoping for another big game from Laurent Robinson (I need it or I'm most likely dead), so he'll probably end up with 4 catches for 66 yrds and no TDs or something like that.
