    Deandre Hopkins....with Mallett at QB

The Texans named Ryan Mallett their starting quarterback for Week 11 against the Browns. Coach Bill O'Brien praised Mallett's command of the offense, acknowledging his progress running the system, and said it's time to give Mallett "his shot." With the Texans on their bye, it was a prime time to make the switch. Fitzpatrick is 21st in the league in completion percentage, 15th in passing yards, and 11th in YPA. However, he managed just an 11:8 TD:INT ratio and took 21 sacks. The world has been waiting to see if Mallett can play in the NFL. And now is his time. In the final year of his rookie deal, Mallett has a golden opportunity to earn some good money in the offseason. Andre Johnson is said to be a big fan of Mallett's. Mallett has a big arm and will be able to get the ball deep to both Johnson and DeAndre Hopkins, but he has big-time accuracy issues in the short-to-intermediate range.

    What happened to Oliver?

Not sure who would have scoffed at that, that was always the plan with Oliver taking over as the passing back. Today they got away from the run because they got their butts handed to them. I started him too......

    West

Citing "a little birdie," ESPN Cleveland's Tony Grossi suggested on Twitter Sunday that Terrance West might lead the Browns in Week 9 carries against the Bucs. We wouldn't take this as gospel, but Grossi is among the more plugged-in Browns reporters. It's also worth noting that over the last two weeks, Ben Tate has rushed 31 times for 62 yards (2.0 YPC) in two plus matchups -- and then thrown his offensive line under the bus. West, whose been surging past Isaiah Crowell over the past couple weeks, is a good bet to at least share the workload Sunday.

    Yeah, very strange....we will see.

    Bobby Rainey time

Doug Martin (ankle) is inactive for Week 9. With Charles Sims also in street clothes today, Bobby Rainey should pile up touches against Cleveland. Martin is safe to drop in 10- and 12-team leagues. Look for Sims to rotate with Rainey in Week 10 against the Falcons. N

    Charles Sims............

Bucs activated RB Charles Sims off injured reserve/designated for return. The Tampa Bay Times reports the Bucs plan to be cautious with Sims, and he isn't a lock to have a role Sunday against the Browns. With Doug Martin (ankle) doubtful, Bobby Rainey is expected to start and handle the majority of carries. Sims figures to be eased in initially, and could be limited to passing situations. Fantasy owners should hope Sims becomes a usable flex by Week 10 against Atlanta. The Bucs face a ton of weak run defenses down the stretch.

    Purposely leaving empty roster spots

I don't like it because you are giving someone a potential win. We require you to have a starting lineup with all slots filled. Part of the game is being able to manage your team, making trades, or through the waiver wire or whatever, but I will say that we do have enough bench spots to accomplish that.

    would you veto this?

    Looks fine to me

    where will d.martin end up

    out of the NFL?

    Sims

ESPN's Dan Graziano suggested on NFL Insiders Friday that rookie Charles Sims could play a big role down the stretch. Eligible to return from I.R./recall in Week 9, Sims has resumed practicing after fracturing his ankle in August. "He may get a shot to get some serious carries in the second half (of the season)," were Graziano's words. Sims is worth stashing in 12- and 14-team leagues. Doug Martin has been ineffective for a sustained stretch, while Bobby Rainey has been prone to fumbles.

    Who Didn't I Start

Left Garcon on my bench, almost cost me.

    Titans blocked FG?

Yes, it was blocked for sure.

    Drew Stanton cleared to play

ESPN's Adam Schefter suggested on NFL Countdown that Logan Thomas could mix in for Week 6 snaps "even if Carson Palmer or Drew Stanton starts." Schefter said the Cardinals may throw "curveballs" against the Redskins, perhaps activating all three quarterbacks and using more than one of them. Thomas does have athleticism that neither Palmer nor Stanton can bring to the table, although coach Bruce Arians has never made extensive use of his QBs as runners. He's a classic vertical-pocket-passer coach. The only clear takeaway we can glean from all these Cardinals QBs reports is that Arians has everyone guessing. Even people inside his own organization.

    Carson Palmer starting ++++++++

According to FOX's Jay Glazer, Carson Palmer's (shoulder) status is not final for Sunday's game against the Redskins. Previous reports that Palmer will start appear to have jumped the gun. "In order for Carson to start, he has to show Bruce Arians he can make all the throws," said Glazer. ESPN's Adam Schefter had a similar report on ESPN's Sunday NFL Countdown. The concern is with Palmer's arm strength, as his nerve still isn't all the way back yet. We'd still guess that he ends up starting, but we won't have official word until roughly 3pm ET.

  17. I don't see how you could bench him.
  18. I have him and want to start him, but I just can't do it until I see at least one game of production where he doesn't leave early for something.

    Drew Stanton cleared to play

NFL Network's Ian Rapoport reports Carson Palmer (shoulder) will get the start Week 6 against the Redskins. Big news. Palmer was said to be throwing at just 80 percent on Friday, and coach Bruce Arians admitted he honestly had no idea who his quarterback would be this Sunday. Palmer missed the past three games with a nerve issue. His return will be a boost for the entire passing game, though we'd look for the Cardinals to work the offense around Andre Ellington in Palmer's first start in a month.

    Bone headed commissioner moves

I do this as well.I have played in way too many leagues where other players voted down good trades.
  21. Jordan Reed (hamstring) has been cleared to play Week 6 against the Cardinals. Reed hasn't played since the opener. He has a great matchup this Sunday against Arizona, but usage and snap count is the concern, especially with Niles Paul playing well as a pass catcher in Reed's absence. Reed's a high-risk TE1.

Ronnie Hillman, Andre Williams, Branden Oliver

I had picked up Williams before this week's game, and got Oliver off waivers. I didn't go for Hillman because I don't think he's better than Ball, and Ball has not played well. The #1 priority for a RB in Denver is to make sure Manning doesn't get killed.

    Larry Donnell?

    Yep, he's in there

    Gordon

I also have him on my bench and I will trade him if I get a good offer, otherwise I feel great about having him as a late season addition. Cleveland really needs someone like Gordon, and he has has been practicing so it's not like he will come in there unprepared.
