  1. I wouldn't take him before the 5th round. Even if he gets traded he will still have missed all of training camp which will only hurt his chances of performing well this year. Really I wouldn't take him at all. There are other backs you can count on this year. You should only take the risk on MJD if you are forced to.

  2. Chris Johnson has been a hot topic of debate this preseason.

With an improved offensive line, a full training camp, and a new attitude towards success, I expect flashes of the old Chris Johnson to reemerge this season. I’m predicting 1,500+ total yards from scrimmage and 13+ touchdowns. My rationale is explained here.

What do you think? Will Chris Johnson finish the season as a top 5 RB?

  3. After Gronk, Graham, Hernandez, and maybe Gates, no other TE matters. With the exception of those 4 guys the position is basically plug and play week to week. Just about any other starting TE will get you between 4-7 fantasy points each week. Unless your opponent has one of the top 4 the position is likely going to be a wash. Just take the best available starter each week and plug him into your lineup. Don't waste picks on any other TE but these four.

  4. SJax

    Charles

    AP

    Richardson

    Martin

SJax has finished top 15 fantasy player for 7 consecutive seasons. Charles has had more time to rehab than AP. Richardson just had knee scope and is unproven rookie. Martin less talented than Richardson and unproven.

  5. This is a fan contribution program where fans can submit posts/articles on anything fantasy related. The articles will be reviewed and then featured on the site. It is not a paid writer position but you will of course get full author credits on all of your work.

Great opportunity for bloggers and forum posters to reach an even larger audience and establish your writing profile.

  6. I'm in a 12 team keeper league. You can keep up to 2 players each year. The first time you keep a player you have to give up the draft pick 2 rounds higher than that player was drafted the previous year. So if Marshawn Lynch was drafted in the 6th round in 2011 and I want to keep him in 2012, I give up my fourth round pick. Effectively this means all 1st and 2nd round picks are thrown back into the draft each year. Usually the 3rd rounders go back too because no one wants to give up their 1st round pick.

If you keep the same player for a second year in a row you give up your pick 4 rounds higher than the previous year. So if I had Matt Ryan in the 12th round in 2010. I keep him in 2011 giving up my 10th round pick. In order to keep him again in 2012 I give up my 6th round pick.

The next year I would have to give up a pick 8 rounds higher so in the example above I wouldn't be able to keep ryan for a third time. Only players drafted in rounds 14 and 15 can ever be kept a 3rd time.

For trading picks and keepers, we can trade a potential keeper for a draft pick. So using Matt Ryan again, if I have him as a potential keeper in the 6th round. I can trade him for say a 5th round pick. The other team gets Matt Ryan in the 6th and can only designate 1 more keeper. I get an extra draft pick in the 5th round but now can only designate 1 keeper total.

No player can have more than 2 keepers.

We are in our 4th year under this system and so far it has worked out really well. The draft is still full of good players and no one team has ever been too overloaded with talent because of keepers.

  7. Seems unlikely that Lynch will be suspended this season for a few reasons.

A DUI is considered a violation of the league's substance abuse policy rather than a violation of the conduct policy. Goodell has been quick to act on violations of the conduct policy, even prior to a conviction. However, the substance abuse policy is treated a little differently. It would be unprecedented for Goodell to suspend Lynch prior to the case playing out in court since is falls under the substance abuse policy.

Goodell is likely going to wait to see what happens in the legal arena before taking action. With this in mind, Lynch's lawyers are dragging their feet trying to push the case past the 2012 season.

If Goodell was going to break precedent and suspend Lynch prior to a criminal conviction for this violation of the substance abuse policy there would be no reason to wait around. He would have taken action already. The fact that no action has been taken by the league in over a month, is a good sign that Goodell is trailing his decision behind the court's.

  8. I would go Murray/Julio Jones. If you are talking about end of 1st round and beginning of second round, I think it is too early for Stafford. MJD is too scary since he still isn't in camp. Forte is going to lose goal line carries this year to Michael Bush. As for Graham, I still don't like the idea of spending a 1st or second round pick on a TE. Let someone else take him and Gronk.
