The definitive S-Jax vs. Addai poll

It's interesting to see how definitive people are about Addai "wearing down at the end of the season" when he's only been a full time starter for one year. I think he could have played most of those snaps if the Colts weren't running away with the AFC South. I'm more concerned with Rhodes stealing goal line carries. Not guessing whether Addai will be "worn down" at the end of the year.

Going to be honest........think you could have done better. Think you took a few guys too early.

    Chester Taylor 2008 = Ladell Betts 2007

I never saw Betts as proven by that stretch the same way I felt when I watched LJ run or Taylor run. And the worst part was he was a lot bigger gamble, going in the first three rounds even though Portis was likely to be the starter. Saw him actually go before Portis in a draft. To say that Taylor compares to that bandwagon is dramatic. I've seen Taylor go pretty late in some drafts and places I would definitely consider drafting him with or without Peterson.

    Chester Taylor 2008 = Ladell Betts 2007

Betts was never a LJ or Taylor to me. And O-line wasn't even close. Maybe to some. Also I saw people losing their minds and taking Betts in the 3rd round last year. Which is far different than LJ's ADP in 2005, and Taylor's this year. There is a difference between saying don't reach for Taylor early and don't draft him.

    Chester Taylor 2008 = Ladell Betts 2007

Larry Johnson was a proven commodity and had a great O-line. Like Taylor. Ladell Betts was unproven and behind a below average line. And is a below average back.

    Chester Taylor 2008 = Ladell Betts 2007

Comparing Chester Taylor to Ladell Betts and Correll Buckhalter?? Not all backups are created equal. I don't like reaching for handcuffs, but there are some times when handcuffs are a KNOWN commodity. Priest-LJ ring a bell? By your logic you shouldn't draft LJ for the same reason you wouldn't draft Buckhalter, even though LJ and the Chiefs O-line was a known commodity. Taylor has proven he can start and play well (started the whole year in '06 before AD). And like LJ he has a Pro Bowl O-line.
  9. I feel he's going to have a huge season. Think Buffalo going to have a better overall team. Overall defense. Good O-line. I know he's climbing the draft boards, but has anyone here lost their mind and drafting him or keeping him over a top tier player like Westbrook or Addai?

Sounds like you're trying to convince yourself lol You shouldn't reach for a backup RB just because you have the starter. But if AD goes down, Taylor is a gold mine behind that O-line and 5 yard per carry average and you're nuts to completely "not draft him"

    Just got done drafting

To me Westbrook/Grant/Turner at RB along with AJ (Colston)/Harrison/Branch at WR would have been better. But had you been able to look one round into the future and know you were going to get Harrison it would have made your decision easier. I feel Grant's value has taken a hit, but he is still a starting RB who will get 20 carries per game. Which is a pretty valuable commodity today.

    Just got done drafting

Think you could be hyperventilating into a brown paper sack concerning your RBs if Westbrook gets dinged up. Like your receivers a lot. Play matchups with QB you should be OK. Ryan Grant falling that far is pretty sick. I would have taken him if I were you.

    Addai's production this year...

Wouldn't mind giving Rhodes some of the carries, The important part to me is where he gets those carries. Two years ago Rhodes and Addai rotated in goal line situations. I know Rhodes was #1 back then has aged 2 years, but that still concerns me a bit. I can see Dungy pulling that ######.

    Another interesting take on Belicheat

Fall apart?? Belichick has stopped two of the most prolific offenses in NFL history IN the Super Bowl as a BIG underdog..... The '90 Buffalo Bills and the '01 St Louis Rams. The defensive gameplan against the Bills is actually in the Hall of Fame. It took Levy three quarters to realize that the Giants were conceding the run, so maybe there was some stupidity on the other sideline involved, which is why BB is where he is today.....the coaches on the other sideline are about 75 IQ points lower than him. Same with the "Greatest Show on Turf" who couldn't score until late in the game......wouldn't even been a close game had the Patriots 2nd half 99-yard defensive TD not been called back, resulting in a 14 pt swing. As for this year's Super Bowl I would hardly call holding the other team to 17 points a "meltdown". What do you need a shutout?.......if the Pats had put up their typical 30+ pts it wouldn't have been a problem. The Giants D was the story.

    Willie Parker

Parker situation reminds me of Tiki Barber's a few years back. Tiki had decent yardage, but only had one or two TD's the entire season. In some of my twelve team leagues you could have him mid/late second round the following year.

    Matt Jones

Considering his laid back sleepy attitude I would have made 10 guesses before getting to Coke.

So you would take a 50/1 shot of the Cowboys coming back over a 100,000/1 shot.

Can we all agree that FF playoffs are more lucky than anything?

Or like poker. Luck can play a major role in any one hand. You can have the best cards and get your money in as a huge favorite, but can still get cracked by weaker cards. Short term is a crapshoot. Skill factors in long term results, just as it does in FF.

Can we all agree that FF playoffs are more lucky than anything?

In one game it can be 100% luck. Face the wrong team on the wrong week, it doesn't matter how much better you drafted or your players are. Over the course of a season and more games, the luck factor evens out. So, yes, in the playoffs where one game means everything, more luck is involved.

    Stupid Wetsbrook

So you think it's more likely Philly fumbles the exchange and Dallas goes 99 yards than Dallas getting the ball back with 2 minutes and scoring twice? I can think of maybe once I've ever seen a botched kneel down in all the years I've been watching football. But have seen scoring twice in two minutes on a regular basis.
  24. seattleslew

    Stupid Wetsbrook

He played the odds, and the odds are overwhelmingly in favor of falling down there. It's powerball lottery that Philly somehow botches taking three knees, AND Dallas drives 99 yards to win the game. Philly kicking the ball off and Dallas scoring twice? Well that kind of thing happens virtually every week in the NFL. Unfortunately for us fantasy owners Westbrook might have set a precedent. Two years ago Shaun Alexander did the exact same thing, but he went in for the TD, and got me into the playoffs. The Seahawks ended up losing the game.
