3 hours ago, Torn said:Maybe - At this point, most opt outs aren't keeper quality choices anyway. David Price, Kopech and maybe Posey (as a round 30 pick) may be the only three at this point. In many cases, they can just be dropped without heartburn.
My bigger concern with COVID is for players who only miss some games as opposed to all. I'll bump it to 2 slots. That's likely as far as I'll take it. We have a 10 man bench and IL slots galore, so that should cover it. If things get weird during the season, I'd be open to reconsider. Same rules apply though. Only COVID related reasons are valid for using the NA slots.
Can you please commish add posey back to my roster so I can put him in the 2nd NA spot?
-
This all sounds good to me but I would ask that we get more NA spots for covid reasons. Nobody should have to waste roster space for a covid related player issue.

As long as you trade favorably with me I’m good with it. jk thanks for taking over

With the unfortunate news re: Ted, I have to admit it sapped a lot of my energy out of my excitement for getting this going.
We will play on though. Posty, you are welcome to manage Ted's team if interested. If not, I will just populate his roster as best as I can week to week. I will only do so to add/bench players to ensure his team has uninjured guys starting and that IP limits are met. No trades. I will only add/drop if it is necessary to fill the lineup card.
I'm also thinking that I will donate his $25 fee to a cancer related charity. As I understand it, he'd been in a battle on that front. Any objections?
That all sounds good to me. Please donate my 2020 fee to the charity you choose for his $25.

1 hour ago, posty said:There is no shame in canceling the season... I would venture to guess that more and more players will be opting out this season and when it gets to be bigger names, where is the fun in that?
Let’s just play and maybe some teams will become inactive this year because it is admittedly semi stupid. I 100% agree the MLB season is unlikely to be successful and honestly I don’t even think it is a good idea to try. With that said I don’t know about you I’m jonesing for some entertainment and that’s what fantasy baseball is for me. To quote Mills Lane...LETS GET IT ON.

Sounds fun to me.

Seems like we could probably use 2020 rosters for 2021 keeper selection but just not +1 a service year for guys as if 2020 didn’t happen?
also we need to decide if draft order will repeat from 2019 or 2020 season ending. I don’t actually think it matters
-
I think that we should play the season as normal but not count 2020 as a service year for keepers and not play for money. We already have a draft. Yeah, it’s sucks. People will lose guys to electing not to play or god forbid the inevitability that someone gets covid. If we take the money and service year off the table I think it alleviates most issues.
-
I voted no but don’t care really. I actually in general prefer not playing for money as long as others stay engaged.
-
New record finishing the draft 4 months before opening day!
Hypothetically if there is no 2020 season will these rosters stay for 2021?
-
So when can I see my terrible team that won't actually play this year in Yahoo!?

1 hour ago, Torn said:Yes, this is devastating. The impact to our economy, our health care systems, travel, the upcoming elections, the general attitudes of our already fractured/polarized politics, work life, home life, school life and our hobbies/entertainment are all in jeopardy due to this virus.
On a less serious note, what will a bunch of guys like us do without sports? I don't even know if there are channels that show anything else. Anyone know?
Asking the hard questions. Let's crowdsource a good list of viewing options and avoid anything scary or post apocalyptic because that seems to be our reality now.
I will start with some classics.
How I Met Your Mother
Seinfeld
Arrested Development
Currently Tacoma PD is pretty funny.

Just now, Torn said:Trying to decide if this is a compliment or sarcasm. LOL
I think it is both great value at this point even with him being hurt but also like the joke that he is in mid season form. You’re basically taking everybody I want so I need to jab you somehow.
-
Paxton is already in mid season form! On the DL...
nice pick though
2020 Rule Changes - Applies only to this season (I hope)
