You're doing it right now. They demonstrate that they only look for anything and everything that confirms their bias. Sheer volume proves nothing, yet you believe it does. The fact that some liberals on this board may have gotten the story wrong doesn't mean they are right in everything they post or that somehow their postings are "evidence" because it's not refuted as vociferously by the other side.

That has been said for years. Urban heat islands is a term that's been around for decades. Like I said, I disagree with the premise, although the data in the article is clear. More black people in cities obviously means more black people affected by heat. It said nothing about it not affecting white people, just that as a percentage of population, black people are more affected.

Confirmation bias. Just because he posts hours and hours of videos that support his viewpoint and others do not does not make his viewpoint reality. You know this, his information just confirms your bias as well. With the added bonus for you that you don't need to look for it yourself. And, by the way, just because liberals on this site don't post hours of liberal content ala LC or Blue Horseshoe doesn't constitute proof that there is nothing to back up their claims. It just means that most people here are not that online or don't have hours in their day to scour the internet for information that wins arguments on a fantasy football off-topic message board.

While I don't agree with the premise of the BBC headline or the reaction of the OP, people living in urban areas, particularly big cities where heat is absorbed by asphalt and concrete, have more heat stress than those living in rural areas, so it follows that a greater percentage of African Americans (and Latinos, and probably Asian people) will be affected by heat than white people because a greater percentage of African Americans live in urban areas. Which is what the article, which I actually took the time to read instead of just a posted a twitter link, said

Yes, what most demographic experts consider "black" are people who have sub-Saharan African ancestry. Samoans aren't in that group. They are considered Pacific Islanders, or of Asian descent. But I guess some folks can't see beyond the melanin level of a person's skin.
