The Indictment:THE UNITED STATES OF AMERICA VDONALD J.TRUMP (eta: the 5th indictment)

This is a very good article from Lawfare, written by Roger Parloff… Why I Doubt Trump’s ‘Sincere Belief’ Defense Will Fly Before a Jury The author presents what he calls “8 Anchor Lies”, (specific, provably false claims about the election.) Playing the hits: 1. More than 10,000 (or, sometimes, more than 5,000) dead voters voted in Georgia. 2. 205,000 more votes than voters were cast in Pennsylvania 3. There was a suspicious vote dump in Detroit of more than 100,000 ballots in the middle of the night after the election. Etc., etc. And I like this blurb: “When confronted with individuals who relentlessly and pervasively make false statements, jurors usually conclude that they are liars. Jurors get lying. They’ve met liars in their lives. They’ve been burned by them. They don’t like them.”

New: Trump’s lawyers on the Georgia case are meeting with the Fulton County DA Fani Willis tomorrow to finalize the former president’s surrender Thursday or Friday this week, per ppl familiar. Among other things under negotiation: whether Trump will have his mug shot taken and whether it gets released if he’s photographed (Trump legal want no mug shot), as well as which day the surrender will happen.

Attached to this tweet is an email… From Trump DOJ Official Richard Donoghue… To Acting Attorney General Jeffery Clark… Donoghue rejects Clark’s scheme to falsely tell state officials that DOJ was investigating “significant concerns” that could change 2020 election results. Hand written notes on the hard copy of Donoghue’s email says: “discussed w/POTUS January 3, 2021” More evidence against Trumps defense that he believed the election was stolen. So many witnesses with so much to lose.

I really like when talent gets discovered out of nowhere. I’m also a fan of the “protest” genre. I’m glad to finally hear the song after noticing some kind of political dust up on the twitters. Pretty good song. Seems out of place to pigeon hole this as supporting any right-wing victimization. just let the guy play… -

Florida Man Pleads Guilty to Assaulting Law Enforcement During Jan. 6 Capitol Breach Defendant Participated in Coordinated Pushes Against Police in Lower West Terrace Tunnel and Passed Pepper Spray, Sledgehammer to Others... "According to court documents, Johnson, a member of the Proud Boys, traveled from his home in Florida to Washington, D.C., to protest Congress' certification of the Electoral College vote. On Jan. 6, 2021, Johnson marched with a group of Proud Boys to the west of the U.S. Capitol around the Peace Monument. There, a group of rioters confronted United States Capitol Police (USCP) officers who were standing behind metal barricades bearing "AREA CLOSED" signs. The rioters, including Johnson, then overran the officers and barricades. Johnson then advanced on the Capitol and was among the first to enter the restricted grounds." FBI agents arrested Johnson on Jan. 13, 2022, in Florida. A federal district court judge will determine any sentence after considering the U.S. Sentencing Guidelines and other statutory factors.
