    Teacher brings guns to school

It’s legal for Missouri school boards to allow teachers to carry during school hours and functions. If I recall correctly, there’s only one district, somewhere down near the boot heel, that has the policy in place. During my entire time working in public education I knew maybe… ten teachers I’d trust with a gun in any kind of stressful situation. Maybe ten. Oh, and I’m one of ‘em.
  4. Twitter Thread In Trump's NY criminal case, prosecutors file their so-called "Sandoval" notice—disclosing uncharged prior bad acts they intend to use at trial to impeach his credibility. Trump’s New Company, net-worth balloons to $6.4B

It’s $26.40 right now… if it gets to $18 or so I might buy some. Like, if we get a couple days before a verdict is read and Trumpworld covers Twitter with claims of his innocence… maybe sell the morning before the verdict is read…

    Now THIS is journalism!!!!

Oh man! Beats me… it’s been since the 90’s since I was actually in the place. The reason I know it’s still open is it came up in conversation as a possible dinner spot with a buddy who still lives in Denver. His wife used to be a shaker there.

Anybody buying down at these levels? I wonder what the next catalyst will be…
  9. I’ve dipped my toes in both the educated and uneducated worlds. I started as a teenager working on framing crews and basement crews until I got back in school as a non-traditional student, graduated (Colorado State University) and did the whole Shop Teacher thing. I finished my education career as an administrator, (At this point I became over-educated with a post-grad degree), and more specifically, I was the Director at two different Career Centers (that’s Vo-Tech School for you old guys.) Then when I retired I formed a General Contracting business and built or flipped about 30 houses. Now I’m just kind of a sore old guy who needs cortisone injections just to shuffle around the wood shop, but I’ve interacted professionally with the entire gamut of the education spectrum. Some of the smartest people I know work in the construction field. I know a guy who couldn’t tell you a thing about Pythagorean’s Theorem, but he could calculate the pitch of a roof and how to cut the rafter tails in his head. Conversely, I met some really downright dumb people in college. Seriously, they are everywhere. There are all kinds of ways to get a college degree. One way is to be really smart and be a good student. Another way is to work your ass off and put in more time than everyone else to make up for a lack of intelligence (<—The Dozer Method.) My point is, it doesn’t matter what your education level is… if you still think Trump won the 2020 election… you are stupid.
  10. I don’t care what you say, man. I find your comments insightful. If the nothing burger thing happens as you predict , then I guess we’ll see a possible defense for Trump.
  11. Yeah man, you’ve been pretty cool. I appreciate that. I don’t think you’re missing a thing. I just think it’s pretty obvious that the orange man is bad. I think he’ll be found guilty on most of the charges he is facing.
  12. Yeah, I guess. For now, I’m sticking with Orange man bad… You do you though.
  13. But… the orange man is bad. Right? Or, are you saying the orange man is good? Just trying to get my bearings…

    Trump INDICTED

The prosecutors in Manhattan say the Access Hollywood tape rocked the campaign, and led to Trump agreeing to pay off Stormy Daniels.
  20. Hi Jerry, Like you, I believe that many of the J6 defendants were rubes. And by rubes I mean gullible Americans who got swept up in a “stop the steal” frenzy, and followed others illegally into the Capitol. But I wonder if you consider the defendants that were found guilty of Seditious conspiracy as rubes? The guys with a plan, who were wearing body armor and in stack formation as they made their entry into the Capitol. Who had a quick reaction force in communication and ready to join the fray at a moment’s notice. The defendants doing real time. Decades in the joint. Are you including those defendants in your classification of rubes?

***SNOWFLAKE TRIGGER WARNING*** The “idiot” defense: NBC News Article- Why Trump can't use the 'idiot' defense other Jan. 6 defendants often lean on Capitol rioters and their lawyers often concede they were “gullible” for believing 2020 election lies. Donald Trump’s lawyers have to argue his concerns were fact-based and reasonable. Defense lawyers seeking leniency for Jan. 6 rioters have often struck a similar theme in trying to explain to federal judges and Washington juries how their clients fell for thoroughly debunked lies about the 2020 presidential election. Lawyers defending Jan. 6 rioters have argued that their clients were duped and manipulated, that they were poorly educated, had low IQs and lacked critical thinking skills.
