    Trump assassination attempt conspiracy

Agreed. Dismiss any opinions suggesting Trump had this assassination attempt staged. That would be straight up nutso.

I have a little powder left in my Charles Schwab account. Right now DJT is $31.26 Easy temporary +10% at open. Could go through the roof the first hour or so… Sell around lunchtime… That’s the plan, anyway.

It is crucial that we settle this through the ballot box and not through violence. We vote. It’s what we do. We are Americans.

So a person tried to assassinate Trump

About the worst possible thing for our fragile democracy would be for Trump (or Biden) to be assassinated. This is terrible.

What do you think former president Trump meant when he said “if I don’t get elected it’s gonna be a bloodbath for the country”? Do you think it was a metaphor?

    Moab, Utah… ever been?

And then things took a turn… So, when you’re out on these trails you lose cell service pretty quick. During the Willow Springs/Tower Arch run I had been off the grid for about four hours… I finally regained signal just as I left the park boundaries… Like, eight text messages come through my phone… I pull over and check them out. The first was from my buddy from the blues fest a couple days earlier in Winter Park… It’s said something like: “hey, are you guys sick? Cassandra feels like chit and has a dr.’s appointment this afternoon…” And I instantly processed that the wife didn’t feel well this morning… Yada, yada… The wife has Covid. And not the “It just felt like a cold” Covid. It was the deep and gross, guttural coughing, filling up boxes of Kleenex, type of Covid. It was terrible. I had to get her home. We canceled the last night in Moab, two nights at Bryce Canyon, and I had some awesome plans to finish up in southern Colorado… I got her comfortably in the truck and loaded the luggage at 7:00 a.m. Moab time, we hit eastbound I-70, and on the birthday of this great nation we made it home to Central MO in 14 1/2 hours. Road Trip Grand Total: 2357.7 miles 44 hours, 38 mins (total drive time) 19.3 mpg At this point in the story neither of us needs to be back at work for like, nine days. …Many a slip twixt the cup and the lip.

    Moab, Utah… ever been?

Tomorrow I’m picking up my sweet new 2024 F-150, and the wife and I are planning a road trip! We’ll be on the road for about three weeks, so plenty of time to do/see things. We’ll be departing from the K.C. Area. I usually prefer to head west to see the sights this beautiful nation has to offer, but I left the destination up to her. Surprisingly, the wife wants to go to Moab, Utah. I say, Awesome!!! Back in the 90’s I lived on the western slope of the Rockies, and I made the venture to Moab a couple of times… I had a Jeep Wrangler back then and it was a blast! This trip I’ll be renting either a Jeep or one of those RZR off road vehicles. I remember next to nothing about the town and the trails. So, my question is; Has anyone ever been to that part of the country? Anyone familiar with the trails? Surrounding area? Some possibilities include: -Arches National Park -Canyon Lands National Park -Bryce Canyon I also kind of randomly found on the innerwebs some filming locations for the 70’s muscle car movie “Vanishing Point”, that I plan on checking out on the way to Moab. Not sure where we’ll go after Moab, but we’ll still have a week/10 days or so to keep the road trip going…

    Moab, Utah… ever been?

Sorry for the pause, but my storytelling got interrupted… By another road trip. I need to finish this whole story up… So back to the Jeep rental in Moab. For the afternoon I followed the suggestion of the guys at the rental place and did these two trails (one trail led into the other, so it was basically one long trail): Willow Springs Trail Eye of the Whale and Tower Arch trails. Willow Springs Trail is a back way into Arches National Park. You can actually access all of the park for free if you come in this way. Half way up this first section you come to the Willow Springs Dinosaur Tracksite. This was really cool. Google maps link There was a family of four with two daughters that were checking out the tracks when I walked up solo. They were super nice and kind of squared me away on where the dinosaur tracks were, and the kids were excited to share their impressive dinosaur knowledge! Turns out they were locals, and the dad was a good guy who gave me a little advice on finishing up the trails. So from there I pass through a couple of gates and eventually make it near the middle of main Arches park and find the trailhead for the Tower Arch trail. What an awesome ride this was! You could really get cooking in the sandy/curving sections. You keep these Rubicons in 4 Low most of the time you’re off road, but nowadays they have eight gears in 4L! The scariest thing about this trail is the threat of encountering someone coming from the opposite direction. I went the way my Jeep guy sent me! I met other drivers on two occasions. Both times I was in a good spot to let them pass, but there were a lot of tight, steep sections that bailing off to the side would not be an option. I felt like I needed to commit and move through obstacles pretty quick! Cool vids I found: Short video from YouTube 1 Short video from YouTube 2 Longer video from YouTube that is really well done except for the weird background music… What a great trail this was. Such beautiful scenery and some really fun driving! I finish the trail, and end up back on the main Arches NP road heading back down to Moab, ready to wrap up day 7(?) of the road trip…

    I'm Pretty Much Done Drinking...

Well, you say you’ve never smoked weed. Weed smokers build up a tolerance. Some guys can smoke it all day long. Some, like me… a little will do. So, if you go into a dispensary, but up front about your inexperience, and be prepared to cut your gummies in half. Ease into it. Find what works for you.

    Moab, Utah… ever been?

A little background: Back in the 90’s I lived on the western slope of Colorado in Ouray County. I had a 94 Jeep Wrangler and I hit all the difficult passes in the San Jaun Mountains, including Black Bear Pass and Imogene Pass, etc. So, back in the day I was a skilled and downright ballsy driver. So renting the Jeep was a big deal! So, at the end of the day after Arches, I was coming back into Moab and I stop in the Jeep rental place… I walk up to a guy who was working on an old hot rod and I says, “Hey, I’m Dozer and I rented a Jeep for tomorrow.” A guy pops his head out from under the hood and he was right on point! He was a good guy and he got an idea of my experience level and made some recommendations on trails. He squared me away with a book of all the trails, that I could read back at the room. Psyched. I rented from Jenn’s Jeep Rentals So the next morning the wife isn’t feeling well, so I figured I would do a more difficult trail in the morning, then maybe pick her up for an afternoon run. I walked from the hotel and got to Jenn’s Jeeps right at 8 a.m. The staff was two guys. The kid I spoke to the day before, and a new guy who was a big ole biker looking dude. They were great! They got me through the rental contract, got me up to speed on the Rubicon, gave me some final advice on the trails I selected, and I was on my way. First Trail: Fins And Things This is about a ten mile “loop” trail, so everyone using it is traveling in the same direction. The guys back at the shop told me they send people to this trail as kind of a warm up to more difficult trails. And that you could choose different routes around obstacles. The easy way and the hard way, if you will. There was one time on the trail when I came up to this really steep slick rock wall looking thing. You could see the black marks going up…but damn! I had no idea how to attack it! So I pull over out of the way and along came two Jeeps traveling together. I noticed that they were communicating with a radio… So the first driver was a guide, and he navigated the obstacle pretty quick. Then he got out of his vehicle and with his radio started guiding the second driver up. So I thought I’ll just take the easy route on this deal… and pretty soon I found my self in just as precarious a position as before, with nobody around! I hit some really steep parts… where I’d be balanced on three wheels…. Then slooowly perched on two wheels on the diagonal… and back to three wheels, back and forth for a couple hundred feet… So, it was a thrill to do some challenging driving, but I didn’t get too crazy! There are some great videos on YouTube about This trail if you’re interested. So, I finished up Fins And Things pretty early. I head back towards Moab and I check in with the wife to see if she wants to make the afternoon run. She says, “nah, still not feeling good, you go ahead…” So that’s what I did. Next up, “Oh yeah, these trails are easy…” said the lying bastards.
