With the Bengals slinging the ball the Chargers will need to throw to keep up so this game feels like it will be more of a shoot-out than KC-Buff (although that game could blow up too as KC feels due to have an offensive explosion). Dissly could have a nice game. Keep going back and forth on this one.

Don't think the NFL doesn't have their own narratives they like to see play out (like making sure the Vikings don't get too far ahead of the other teams in the NFC North and/or get in the way of another current darling of the NFL the Detroit Lions). Feel good stories equal more eyeballs on the games equal more revenue.

All scoring plays are reviewed, right? A safety is a scoring play (by the defense but still a scoring play). The NFL was getting a nice feel-good story with America's sweetheart(s) Kupp and Stafford back together (and to a lesser degree, Puka) and beating the tough Vikings. They weren't sure Darnold and the Vikings were going to fully cooperate so the refs on the field (and the booth) looked the other way.
