You're really comparing the US Govt to a private business? Taxpayers fund the govt and vote for representatives to represent their interests. Citizens have the right and duty to question the people they vote for and the decisions they make. Citizens have the right to protest the govt. Of course people can protest private business as well but I really have no say in how starbucks runs their business. I don't fund starbucks. I don't even go there.
