FBI conducts search at John Bolton’s home

The Dow Jones Industrial Average (DJIA) hit an all-time record high of 45,631.74 on August 22, 2025, surpassing its previous record set on December 4, 2024, and closing at 45,014.04. The rally was driven by a combination of factors, including improved investor sentiment, rising corporate earnings, and a receding fear of a recession, which benefited blue-chip stocks. -

If you could be gifted any one bottle
Maximum Overkill replied to Meglamaniac's topic in The Geek Club
There's a Bourbon here in South Carolina called Jimmy Red Bourbon, the brand is great in general. They make a very rare 10 year anniversary Bourbon. I have a bottle for very rare occasions and 2 stashed away but I'd love to get more if anyone is feeling generous. For those of you who haven't heard of it, here's s a description: Our flagship spirit, this bourbon is made from 100% Jimmy Red corn, a magenta-hued landrace grain grown for decades on James Island and nearly lost forever. For 10 years, we’ve worked with a team of researchers and farmers to rebuild a secure seed supply for the most flavorful whiskey corn we’ve ever tasted. There were only 2 cobs of Jimmy Red corn left after the last man known to grow it passed away. His family gave the seeds to Ted Chewning and he was able to bring it back to life. From two ears in 2013 to an estimated 250,000 lbs in 2017 the production on Jimmy Red corn has exploded. High Wire Distilling in Charleston, SC began playing around with this corn in 2014. This bourbon is an incredible example of how heritage/heirloom grains are changing craft spirits. Craft distillers are using them to redefine the spirits we love. Tasting Notes: Really nice notes of underripe pineapple, caramel, vanilla extract, cornbread, dried soil, and hints of hot chocolate powder. The palate is tart cherry, dark chocolate, and leather but the chocolate is prominent. An undercurrent of coffee bean, barrel char, smokey vanilla, and ground cinnamon being the most prominent spice but still a plethora of baking spices. The finish is tart cherry skin, dried cacao, leather, and ground cinnamon. Jimmy Red Bonded Bourbon 10Yr Anniversary 750mL – Arthur Cantina Wine & Liquor https://share.google/TsNoB3OL3QX1V1Mp9 -

National Guard mobilizing in 19 states amid immigration, crime crackdown
Maximum Overkill posted a topic in The Geek Club
Up to 1,700 National Guardsmen are set to mobilize in 19 states in the coming weeks to assist the Department of Homeland Security with President Trump’s nationwide crackdown on illegal immigration and crime, Pentagon officials confirmed to FOX News. Documents obtained by FOX News show planning for activations in Alabama, Arkansas, Florida, Georgia, Idaho, Indiana, Iowa, Louisiana, Nebraska, Nevada, New Mexico, Ohio, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Texas, Utah, Virginia, Wyoming – with status effective from August through mid-November. Texas is projected to host the most significant Guard presence. The National Guard soldiers being mobilized will effectively serve as a support pillar to a sweeping federal interagency effort, while also serving as a visible deterrent force, a U.S. Defense official said. The service members supporting ICE will be preforming case management, transportation, logistical support, and clerical functions associated with the processing of illegal migrants at the facilities. "The in-and-out processing may include personal data collection, fingerprinting, DNA swabbing and photographing of personnel in ICE custody," the official said. 1,700 National Guard troops to deploy in 19 states for immigration | Fox News https://share.google/c6pxaWyUDE66HBD8u -

The Dow Jones Industrial Average rallied to an all-time high Friday after Federal Reserve Chair Jerome Powell signaled the central bank could begin easing monetary policy next month. The Dow climbed 846.24 points, or 1.89%, reaching a fresh high and closing at a record level of 45,631.74. The S&P 500 rose 1.52% to end at 6,466.91. At its session high, the broad market index came within three points of its record. The Nasdaq Composite gained 1.88% and settled at 21,496.53. Shares of megacap technology stocks soared on Powell's comments. Nvidia added 1.7%, while Meta Platforms jumped more than 2%. Alphabet and Amazon each climbed more than 3%. Tesla shares jumped about 6%. In a tepid speech at the central bank's annual conclave in Jackson Hole, Wyo., Powell said that "the baseline outlook and the shifting balance of risks may warrant adjusting our policy stance." The Fed chief added that "the balance of risks appear to be shifting" between the central bank's dual mandate of full employment and stable prices. He cited "sweeping changes" in tax, trade and immigration policies. Expectations for a quarter-point rate cut in September surged to roughly 83% following the speed from about 75% earlier in the week, according to the CME Group's FedWatch tool. -

Illinois trans volleyball player incident unleashes parade of angry parents on school board meeting 🌈😂
Maximum Overkill posted a topic in The Geek Club
Trannies are funny! Mentally ill crossdresserss pretending to be Girls HOFFMAN ESTATES, Ill. - A trans athlete made a girls' high school volleyball team in Illinois, igniting chaotic debate among many of the town's parents. Conant High School in Hoffman Estates, Illinois, saw a parade of angry parents speak out at its school district's board meeting Wednesday night amid the local controversy involving the biological male making the team. An anonymous parent told Fox News Digital that her daughter did not make the cut for the team while the male student did make it, prompting her daughter to break into tears after her first day of school Monday. The mother said the trans athlete quit the team the very next day amid the controversy. The anonymous parent and another parent, in a Facebook post, claimed that the school's girls' volleyball coach quit her position amid the situation and is now only coaching boys' volleyball at the school. Many speakers at the District 211 board meeting on Wednesday spoke in opposition to trans inclusion in girls' sports, but others, in the left-leaning community, spoke in defense of it. Karen Powers, a mother of a Conant graduate, yelled loudly at the board members in outrage at girls having to compete against a biological male. Powers also referenced the apparent resignation of the coach from the girls' team. "A longtime beloved coach of the girls' volleyball team quit, and if she is here or watching, I have the utmost respect for you standing firm on your morals and values," Powers said, later raising her voice to yell, "It's not a girl's responsibility to feel uncomfortable or unsafe for the sake of a boy pretending to be a girl! He should be participating in sports designated for boys because he will always be one! When do the girls in D 2-11 get to feel safe, recognized and protected!?" Fellow Illinois mother Angela Christman, a longtime teacher, delivered a tempered lecture in opposition to males in girls' sports. "The current policy is trampling on the rights every other girl and her rights to privacy and protected spaces," Christman said.
