It's so easy to stop this war, isn't it? What's your plan, we nuke Russia, send your Kids there to fight, tell me. Unless we do either of those then Russia ultimately decides when it's over. Whether you like it or not Trump is trying a diplomatic approach without fueling the fire. This can get uglier. You can disagree with his approach but I don't see anyone else stepping up, Biden sure as hell didn't and Dems just want to throw money at the fire. So what's your master plan for peace????

Maximum Overkill posted a topic in The Geek Club
WASHINGTON – The U.S. Department of Homeland Security (DHS) today announced U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) arrested a criminal illegal alien responsible for driving while intoxicated and causing the fatal car wreck that killed two American teens in Dane County, Wisconsin. On August 13, 2025, ICE arrested Noelia Saray Martinez-Avila—a criminal illegal alien from Honduras—who struck a vehicle while driving the wrong direction on a highway, killing 18-year-old Hallie Helgeson at the scene on July 20. Martinez-Avila also gravely injured 19-year-old Brady Heiling who died from his injuries on July 25. -

That is definitely a feel good story. Thank you for posting that. That makes me want to call ICE on the illegals working at my local garden center. To report suspicious activity related to immigration or potential criminal activity, call the ICE tip line at 1-866-DHS-2-ICE. This hotline is available 24/7 and can be used to report various types of suspected violations, including those related to human trafficking, human smuggling, and other criminal activity. -

@Ron_Artest @TimHauck @Sandy Loam @The Real timschochet Charges against Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky have emerged from various sources and contexts: Russia: Russia has opened a criminal case against President Zelensky and added him to its wanted list in May 2024. The specific charges were not detailed at the time, according to DW and NDTV. This move is largely seen as symbolic as Zelensky is not on Russian territory. Ukrainian Lawmaker Allegations: A Ukrainian lawmaker, Geo Leros, claimed in May 2023 that a criminal case had been ordered against top Ukrainian officials, including Zelensky, for treason. Leros alleged that the case concerned the appointment of Russian intelligence agents to key positions within Ukraine's security services. This claim was based on a court order to initiate a pre-trial investigation, according to the Anadolu Ajansı. Corruption Investigations and Criticism: Zelensky has faced pressure and criticism domestically and internationally regarding allegations of corruption within his government and his handling of anti-corruption agencies. While investigations into corruption involving individuals close to Zelensky have occurred, these are distinct from charges filed against Zelensky himself. Some critics argue that Zelensky's actions aimed at curtailing the power of anti-corruption bodies were intended to hinder investigations involving his associates. Zelensky, however, has stated that such moves are necessary to remove Russian influence from these agencies.

Historians Alarmed by White House Plan to Oversee Smithsonian Exhibits
Maximum Overkill posted a topic in The Geek Club
Historians and free speech advocates have begun to speak out to express their alarm at the White House’s announcement of a wide-ranging review of exhibits at the Smithsonian Institution’s museums and galleries. The free expression group PEN America said it feared the review “will rewrite history and strip truth from exhibits,” while Sarah Weicksel, the executive director of the American Historical Association, described the Trump administration move as a “major overstep.” Ms. Weicksel, who leads the country’s largest group of professional historians, said she had been hearing from some of its more than 10,000 members who said they have deep concerns. “Only historians and trained museum professionals are qualified to conduct such a review, which is intended to ensure historical accuracy,” she said. “To suggest otherwise is an affront to the professional integrity of curators, historians, educators and everyone involved in the creation of solid, evidence-based content.” -
Why Life May Not Be As Abundant As We Think
Maximum Overkill replied to The Elevator Killer's topic in The Geek Club
The theory of relativity may not apply to other galaxies. It may vary from galaxy to Galaxy. They could possibly have different parameters for life, we may never know but it's interesting. -
What's the alternative? American boots on the ground to beat the mighty Russian empire? How do you see this ending??
