Trump tariffs resulted in a loss of over 200,000 jobs during his first term. Hurt lots of Americans. His new proposed tariffs will be even more harmful. He's not going to do it he's smarter than that. It is a good political ploy that plays well with his base and independents. I'm not worried about it actually happening.

I believe there was a sense of "It's not going to get violent. they would never assault police and break into the capitol" and that if it were to turn violent the President would be able to de-escalate and wouldn't allow an assault on the Capitol on his watch. What we learned is that they were riled up and told to fight like hell or they wouldn't have a country and were capable of much more than thought. We also learned that Trump watched this happen... let it happen... wanted it to happen and did nothing about until it was clear that it wasn't going to work before calling off the dogs. So I agree with you now that we know that these people and their leader are extremely violent we will deploy the military to protect our democracy if needed. It's a shame we have to do this to our own people but it's where we are.

It really does come down to this. Life was better 2017-2019, so I'll take the guy in charge during that time again. Nothing else matters.

The reason for this is rather simple. Harris has supported more agents, more audits, more revenue. Trump has supported gutting the IRS resulting in less agents, less audits and more creative opportunities for high net worth individuals to pay less taxes and get away with it. Full disclosure I support being able to find new ways to pay less in taxes.

Or annual fees, or higher transaction fees resulting in businesses passing that along. Sounds like it will be people with good credit that pay their balances that will suffer.

This sounds good but I don't know how it works. How do you put a cap on this? What if credit card companies simply stop giving out credit because it's not profitable anymore? Unintended consequences.

Trump set the kindling up for the fire. Covid recovery started the fire. Biden threw gasoline on it. The difference is if Trump didn't create the means for the fire then everything would have collapsed. unfortunate necessity.

There are numerous reports of Haitians not being good drivers. It's not racist. Just like women in America aren't good drivers, or Asians. It's not racist. It's insurance data.
