    RUTGERS.....

Great win last night! Great game! This opens the door for the Trojans to make yet another run at the title! That's right......if they can take down Oregon, Cal, ND (and finish with W against cross-town rival ucla) they'll leap over the Auburn, FL and TX based upon strength of schedule. Now, if Michigan takes down the Luckeyes in a close one.....Ohio State probably stays at #2, but if Big Blue loses........they'll fall from contention. Before anybody starts yappin.......with a 36 point ROAD WIN over what looks to be a ONE LOSS Arkansas team from the oh so mighty SEC , a slap job on Nebraska and what would be wins over a ranked Oregon team......and two top tens in Cal & ND....the Trojans would have played the toughest schedule of any team ranked inside the top 5. Fight On!

    TRADE MCNABB NOW.

Great post! Right on the money! I'm a McNabb owner who has had Bulger on his bench all year for this exact reason. McNabb has helped to lead me to what looks to be 7-1 thus far. Most the other "owners" in my league have been ragging me for not trading Bulger to fill a need, but I've held him in case of injury to McNabb AND because of his last six games.....five are in warm cozy domes (4 at home) and the other is against the Raiders in what should be decent weather. Note: My league splits the pot.....50% head2head winner and 50% total points (so...weeks 16 & 17 are important).
  3. Please rank them not only 1-6, but also with a "WR1".."WR2"...and "WR3" tag. My thoughts: Harrison WR1 AJ WR1 (although...after 4 weeks can we forget that last year in 12 starts he had only 2 TD's and less than 700 receiving yards??) Stallworth WR2 (IF healthy..and that's a big "IF") Glenn WR2 Galloway WR2 (a bit risky..? being that we really know nothing about Gradkowski) Jennings WR2/3 (through five weeks he looks like a solid WR2, but...it's early..and he's a rook) Thoughts?
  4. Currently, Bulger is my backup whom is a great bye week filler and/or replacement if my starter (McNabb) goes down. My WR corps is thinned by injury (Stallworth) and bye weeks (Harrison & Jennings). My league scores all passing/rushing/receiving TD's as 6 points. So, QB's are worth a bit more than in most leagues. 1 pt per 25 yards passing....1pt. per 10 yards receiving/rushing. Although I don't see Phily running away........my concern is McNabb sitting at the end of the year (we play a head2head schdule as well as total points) as well as all those cold weather games (sure is nice knowing I've got Bulger playing in a dome in late November and early December if McNabb was stuck playing in a snow/rain storm). Thoughts on Andre Johnson & Vick (as my new backup) in return for Bulger?
  5. I'm having a hard time putting Ronnie on my bench. Please help. Detroit is tough against the run, but because of their weak pass D.......they give up lots of yards & points. All it takes is a few trips inside the 5 yard line to get Chester Taylor a few shots at the endzone. As for Ronnie Brown....."ALWAYS PLAY YOUR STUDS"........but, the Pats have looked pretty good against the run and could jump out on Miami forcing the Dolphins to pass more & run less (yes.....Brown will catch some balls, but......so will Chester). Brown is the better RB, but I just see the Vikes getting into the redzone more often than the Dolphins this week. Opinions??

Is Portis an automatic start this weekend?

I'm leaning toward benching Portis for Ronnie Brown and CHESTER TAYLOR (at Buff). If I didn't have viable options.........I'd start Portis, but in this case.....I just feel that Taylor has a better opportunity to produce (fingers crossed).

NFL players sure can be drama queens about pain

I played in the NFL for 12 years, NHL for 10 years and am currently a high profile WWF wrestler. These current players are wimps.
  13. Any info would be appreciated. Thanks!

  16. 1 point per 10 yards rushing/receiving......6 pts per TD. NO point per reception.

Who does Vince most remind you of?

We're talking about the same guy right? Vince "Mensa" Young? The guy that scored 6 out of 50 on the Wonderlic?
  18. Depending on individual leagues...is one setting better than another? With all the RBBC situations this year I was leaning toward "Compiler Recommended", but wanted your advice. I'm in a 10 team league. We start 1QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE, 1K, 1D/ST We only draft ONE backup at each spot (yep...ONE at EACH SPOT..no stockpiling at any position). Backups can ONLY be selected AFTER all rosters have selected ALL starters (1QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE, 1K, 1D/ST). So, in other words........10 kickers will have been drafted before RB3, QB2, WR4, etc. Weird......I know........I'll save you the stories of years past that caused this rule to be implemented. My league doesn't allow trading......so......all free agents can be picked up for $5.00 a pop (obviously.....an owner would have to drop a player prior to picking up a free agent at that same position). If more than one owner wants the same player..........bid away.....in $5.00 increments........at times........players go for as much as $100. This method increases the pot by leaps and bounds thoughout the year. All TD's are 6pts (even QB passes).....we give a bonus 3 pts for all TD's over 50 yards. RB, WR & TE are 1 pt per 10 yards.....QB's get 1 point per 25 yards of passing. We score Defense pretty heavy....2pts per sack and fumble recovery......3 pts per INT.....10 pts for holding opponent to 10 points or less (which has the Bears coming up in my Top 10 when using the compiler........what the hell do I do about that?????). Anyway..........with the above in mind...........can you recommend which of the methods you would use when running the compiler? Thanks so much!! Note: I draft 10th (serpentine style.......so 1.10, 2.1, etc.) in this 10 team league.....and regardless of which of the options (Last player/last starter/compiler recommended/median, etc) I keep getting the Big 3 RB's, Tiki, Peyton, the Bears D, Holt, S. Smith, and Fitz and either A. Gates or the Jags D in my Top 10. This is why I'm so confused as what to do....due to all the RBBC situations.....I was thinking RB/RB..., but with all the WR's coming up in my Top 10.......I'm thinking either RB/WR or WR/WR (which would suck). Thoughts?
  19. But, isn't this even more of a case (guaranteed 3 of the top 30 WR's) to go RB/RB at 1.10 and 2.1?? I understand your point of a RB falling to me at 3.10 or 4.1 and not getting to take advantage of it if I had already gone RB/RB, but with all the RBBC's (and the question marks such as Portis) in the league right now I've got to think that's (a RB falling that far) highly unlikely. Thoughts? Thanks for all the help!
  20. In my league.....scoring for D's is high...2 pts per sack and fumble recovery......3 pts for an INT......10 pts for allowing 10 pts or less. But, it doesn't matter if I use "Last Starter Drafted"...."Last Player Drafted"...or "Compiler Recommended"........I'm still getting the Chicago Bears D/ST in my Top 10 and the Jacksonville D/ST in my Top 20. With my leagues scoring for D's.......do I actually consider the Chicago D at "the turn" (1.10 or 2.1) or completely ignore the value put on D's in my league by the Compiler (due to our scoring system)??? Help out please! Thanks! Note: We start 1 QB, 2RB, 3WR, 1TE, 1K, 1D and draft ONE backup at each spot. All other players are free agents and a bidding process (big money by year end) takes place for those players (obviously...you must drop a player at the position you are trying to add a free agent at).

    I'm drafting #10 in a 10 team league.

Thanks guys..........anybody else? I just don't understand why we throw out the value score put on the D/ST that the Compiler spits out........JUST BECAUSE they are a D/ST. ???? I agree that taking a D/ST in the first round or early second would seem to put one behind the 8-ball, but........can somebody explain why would should just toss the unbiased Compiler numbers out the window when it comes to D/ST?? Thanks!

    "Distance Scoring" question.

Any and all help would be great appreciated. The Excel document provides me with a "low range" and a "high range" for lenght of TD. Lets talk Running Backs. My league scores rushing TD's as 7 points and adds a 3-point bonus for any rushing TD 50 yards or longer. The 7 points for the TD should already be accounted for in the standard scoring. How do I add in the "3-point bonus for any rushing TD 50 yards or longer"?? What's confusing me is the following options: Low Range Yards High Range Yards FFPoints 0 9 0 10 19 0 20 29 0 30 39 0 40 49 0 50 59 0 60 69 0 70 79 0 80 89 0 90 99 0 How do I input my scoring system? Do I put "3" in ALL five of the "FFPoints" spots (that currently contain a "0") in all the colums 50 yards and over and leave "0" in ALL four spots under 50 yards (that currently contain a "0")? Please advise in detail. Thanks so much!
  24. I'm in the exact same spot and plan on picking RB/RB.
