I have Torrey Smith on my team, and am perhaps a bit higher on him than others, but I also agree with the others - Maclin.

Vereen's the kind of guy that scores three TDs on your bench and then does jack squat when you play him. I know he's supposed to get more work this year, but I don't trust him. I don't trust anything NYG. I don't know enough about Maclin to intelligently comment. I'm optimistic abotu Torrey Smith with Kubiak at OC this year, but I'm not sold yet either, as you will see on my help thread. But since you're picking two from this list, he'd be one, IMO. Bush is the no brainer of the group. Take a look at mine and see if you have any thoughts: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=436122

I've had pretty good luck at RB this year, but at the expense of a lot of roster moves. Usually I have a gut instinct on who to play, but this week, I got nothin'. Pick three and explain why, if you don't mind. As an added bonus, the stats and info may help some of y'all out there. Peyton Hillis @MIA: Never bench Peyton Hillis, so this is my only given, I think. LT @NE: NE is 16th vs. the rush in YPG and 20th in RuTDs yielded, with 9. It's MNF. DMC @SD: SD has a tough defense, giving up the 3rd fewest yards, but they've allowed 8 RuTDs. They get turnovers, though, and Oakland's offense is kind of anemic these days. Blount vs. ATL: ATL has a good defense vs. the run, giving up the 6th fewest yards and only 4 RuTDs (best in NFL). They're on the road though, and TB has been playing well. Mike Goodson @SEA: It's CAR, so I don't trust them at all, and they're on the road in SEA, which is a tough road trip. SEA is 22nd in rushing yards allowed though, and they've yielded 11 RuTDs. Goodson's had a nice little run here lately, but Stewart may get back into the mix a little bit. Brian Westbrook @GB: I just snagged him off the WW. He ought to have fresh legs, and he looked good as Gore's sub, but he's old and run down and tweaked his ankle. He's on the road and GB has only given up 5 RuTDs. They are 18th in rushing YPG allowed. With Rodgers likely airing it out, I'm not sure if Westbrook will be used much in the running game, though he can light it up catching the ball as well. Thanks for any input, and leave a link to your question and I'll offer what insight I can. Good luck to all this week.

The Browns are 21th in rushing yardage allowed this year, but 1st in RuTDs allowed, with only four. The Browns are on the road, though. Is Ronnie Brown really back to 100%? The Packers are at home, and their rushing defense is 18th, so only slightly better. They've given up 5 RuTDs, so they're also stingy in that regard. Ronnie Brown hasn't had a good game all season. Westbrook is going up to GB to play in the bitter cold. It's supposed to snow on Saturday in GB and reach a high of 27 degrees on Sunday. Westbrook's as used to the cold as anyone can get, and if the track is messy, maybe the game comes down to running. Both teams have taken the ball away 26 times on the season. PHI has 19 INTs, so most of their damage is done through the air. PIT forces lots of fumbles (20, w/ 12 recovered) and still gets INTs. I'd go with PIT. Schaub will probably throw a pick, but he rarely throws two INTs in one game. I think PHI will roll, but it won't be because of huge turnover numbers. PIT has a better chance to get TOs, IMO. Plus, the Steelers have a couple more sacks on the season. Take a look at mine, please: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=377872

Tolbert's just short of a no brainer, IMO. OAK is in the bottom half of the league in terms of rush D, and SD is going to have the luxury of running the ball after they build up a bit of a lead. Rice is facing a defense that has only allowed 704 rushing yards this season (top in the NFL) and only 4 RuTDs (top in the NFL). I'd lean Boss vs. WAS. ATL is a middle-of-the-pack pass defense, but they really don't give up too many TDs to TEs, I don't think. Their CBs are average, and they give up some long passes to WRs. They're both rivalry games, so both games have teams that know each other very well. So I think the difference is Washington's awful defense and Eli's tendency to go to Boss lately. I'd say Gerhart for sure. He's no AP, but he'll probably score. I'd lean Goodson over Stewart because of the versatility. The Panthers are probably going to utilize the guy quite a bit over the rest of the season so they can see what they have. They'll work Stewart back in, but with DWill gone, Goodson gives them that two-back system they want. Take a look at mine if you can. TIA: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=377872

Rice is the only guy I'd say stay away from. The Steelers are going to try and stop the run first. Felix Jones is facing a terrible rushing D and the Cowgirls might finally be pulling it together a little bit. Expect Jones to do well. The Bengals may have mailed it in, but I expect TO will still try and get his. Take a look at mine if you don't mind. TIA: http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=377872

Garrard is an absolute no-brainer here. I'm trying to figure out who's expendable on my roster so I can find a one week spot for him.
-
L. Blount @ ATL or P. Hillis home vs. NE? Will answer yours.
-
Thanks for the advice. I started Hillis and got 31 points.
-
Neither? LOL. I'd go Campbell, actually. Cassel is not going to do much, and Campbell will throw the ball a bit more, plus he might get a long TD on a short little screen pass to DMC.
-
DET has actually been putting up defensive numbers this season, so I'd lean that way. I also think I'd take CHI over SEA for the reasons stated above. See mine? TIA - http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=375979

This is really between Steve Smith and Fred Jackson, IMO. Jackson has a bit of a passing game behind him, but it's inconsistent. He'll get the bulk of the carries ,which is good. But since you said PPR, I have to say Steve Smtih.
-
I kind of have to lean toward Tamme, with Manning tossing him the rock. PHI has a good defense, but Manning can throw on anyone, and Tamme can help them in the RZ more than the WRs. See mine? TIA - http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=375979

Start 1QB, 2RB, 2WR, 1RB/WR, 1TE, 1DEF, 1K. Team is as follows: QB - Orton @SF, Fitzpatrick @KC, Ryan on bye RB - Best vs. WAS, DMC vs. SEA, LT vs. GB, Torain @DET, Hillis on bye WR - RMoss @NE, MAustin vs. JAX, DBess @CIN, SHolmes vs. GB So I think DMC is a must start, as is Randy Moss. After that, I'm not sure about Miles Austin with Toni Romo down. Davone Bess has been quietly doing well. At RB, I kind of think LT is a start, but Torain has been doing well, and Best is one of those HR threats because he gets the ball on receptions as well as rushes. Plus, he's had time to recover from his injury. Any advice would be appreciated, and I'll offer what insight I can into your questions. TIA!

Would it be blasphemous/stupid to start Fitzpatrick over Brees this weekend?
Eriadoc replied to Gandalfthecat's topic in A Little Help!
I don't think you're crazy at all. The Madden Curse seems to have caught up with Brees a bit (strained MCL early on) and the PIT defense is likely going to catch up with him even more than that. Fitzpatrick is quietly playing great football right now. See mine? http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=375092 -
We have similar problems at the RB spot. I agree with you on Foster and DMC. Gore, I'm not so sure about. Best is the kind of guy that can take it all the way on any given play, and he gets receptions as well as rushes. Torain has been solid, and is facing DET. If you're comfortable taking a chance, based on who your opponent is playing this week, I'd consider Best over Gore. At WR, you're honestly dealing with two players that can realistically be expected to give you a zero. So with that in mind, I'd play the guy more likely to score a TD, and that's Williams, IMO. Was McFadden not on your radar/draft board at all?
Eriadoc replied to Matt Mueller's topic in FFToday Board
Bush went right around his ADP in my league, but DMC went undrafted. I lost in week one and spent my WW pickup on DMC. I've played him every week he's been on the field since. -
So basically, don't interfere with a receiver trying to catch the ball.
-
Harrison, you're going to quit? Can I have your stuff?
-
I apologize. I overestimated the Texans DEF.
-
I think I'd have to play Eli this week.
-
OK, my starting WRs are Miles Austin and Randy Moss, and I'm starting Torain at one RB spot. For the remaining RB spot and at WR/RB, I have the following to choose from: Addai @WAS: slightly banged up, not very productive, but seems to get the TDs when I don't play him. Best @NYG: turf toe, has been up and down, NYG defense can be stout, but can also be burned by screens and draws. Hillis @PIT: slightly banged up, facing the toughest run D, rookie QB starting 1st time .... I just put him here for the sake of being complete. DMC @SF: coming back from injury, still a little banged up, losing touches to Bush, but if healthy, we all saw what he can do. SF defense doesn't scare me too much. MFloyd @StL: dream matchup, has Rivers throwing him the ball, coming off a huge game, but can just as easily put up a zero. SHolmes @DEN: don't know much about DEN defense, he's still working his way into the offense, Sanchez doesn't throw a ton. Thanks for any input. Leave yours.
