the "Jerry Porter was a DUMB Pick" League

i'm reading in solo's post that passing td's = 6 points. is that correct? if that indeed is the case, qb's will be at a premium in this league.

fractional scoring really isn't complicated. if you get 1 point for 10 yards receiving, then you get 1.1 points for 11 yards receiving, etc (that's just a random example i used). same for rushing yards, passing yards, etc. btw, how much is a passing td worth from a qb standpoint? 6? 4? 4.5? etc.

are we going to have fractional scoring? it seems to make ties much more rare. i played in one league that had no fractional scoring last year and it seemed like we had like 6 ties during the season. just a suggestion. yahoo (i'm almost sure) has a feature that decides draft order randomly. we can use that or the other one you talked about. also, the weekend or on an evening would be best for me for a draft.

scooter- i really don't know you well, but right now, you calling solo a schmuck is pot calling kettle. personally, i vote for flex. and if you haven't noticed, no one died and annointed you God either. you might actually consider not being so self-centered and be more of a team player. solo's being quite diplomatic about this. please try doing the same.

it's exactly like receiving yards for wr's or rushing/receiving yards for rb's, but it's punt/kickoff return yards instead. 25 yards (or 20 or whatever) ='s 1 point type of thing. some people use individual yards, some use the defense/special teams for return yards. some use both. personally, when you get to the flex position, it's just soooo much easier for someone to find a players off the ww to use when everyone is getting hurt or it's the "bye week from hell" and there's just noone out there to choose. alot of wr's that are #3's on their team (read: no receptions/yards/td's) are many times the punt/kr on their team (i.e. dante hall). that makes them viable choices for the flex position. makes the pickings on the ww go from total crap to semi-total crap. it helps.

let's use the flex position. let's also use individual return yards on punts and kickoffs. that way your choices don't suck so bad when you're scraping the bottom of the bucket for a flex.

Real draft going on right now

i would think that a defense would score more points every week compared to a te. that would be the more valuable pick (if defenses usually score more than te's in your league every week).

Real draft going on right now

i would think that you should go ahead and pick up warner now. if he fits into your plays and is going to start 1/4 of your season or so, i would think you should pick him up pretty darn quick. a guy in a ppr league that was on the top passing team with 2 good wr's and one good rb that will catch out of the backfield against a favorable schedule is a good pick here. especially with his history of getting hurt, you should play him in the first part of the season before he does get hurt. anyone else have some thoughts on that?

On the clock! (no poll version...old school?)

fyi, bledsoe had 49 sacks last year, 2nd highest in the nfl. if you deduct points for sacks in your league, you might want to consider that. brooks had 33 in 13 games. http://www.nfl.com/stats/playersort/NFL/QB...1=13&_1:col_2=8

No #1 in Denver: Bell/Dayne to split carries

i've said it before and i'll say it again-bell is a good back with great speed and good hands. he also has been hurt every year in the nfl. he also was hurt every year when he was at oSu. if history repeats itself (and personally i think it will with him), he'll be hurt again this year too. bell is just another version of julius jones. he'd be a good back on a good running team if you could keep him healthy, but it ain't gonna happen. ron dayne had this type of blocking scheme at wisconsin. he had great success in this system. when bell gets hurt again, i think he'll step in and do very well. he'll be one of the steals of the draft this year. jmho. fwiw.

    #1 WR in 2006

how much was philly behind when they were throwing to t.o. in 2004? were they behind alot? something tells me that when they went to the superbowl with t.o. they weren't behind too much. personally, i just don't see where that makes much difference in this scenario. jmho, fwiw.

    Tatum Bell = Ultimate 06 sleeper !

bell is a good back with great speed and good moves. he has good hands too. having said that, bell has been hurt every year he's been in the nfl. bell was hurt every year he was at oSu. if someone wants a rb cheap in the mid-late rounds on a good running team, draft ron dayne. when bell gets hurt, he'll step up and won't have anyone to steal goalline carries from him. he'll be a steal this year.

    Parcells on Julius

regardless of what parcells says, mb3 will be on the field alot this year due to the fact that jj just keeps getting hurt.

What do you guys think of Mcgahee?

    Tatum Bell will start!

Tatum Bell/Ron Dayne the starters in DEN now?

bell will get hurt before half the season is over. i'll be targeting dane in the mid-latter rounds myself. i think he'll be the starter before the season is over.
  25. stonecoldsoonerfan

    Tatum Bell

bell was hurt alot at oSu and he's been hurt in denver also. he'll get hurt again. personally, i'll be looking at the backup denver rb in the mid to latter rounds in my draft.
