The White House is big mad that Amazon is showing the tariff charges on items because they were counting on gullible supporters to never figure out that tariffs are paid by consumers, i.e. them. Do people understand yet that American consumers pay Trump’s tariffs? Not the other countries? My favorite part is the deflection that Trump’s tariffs are somehow Obama or Biden’s fault.

I will say he's successful and probably vote for the Republican in my Congressional District if this happens. I'm not wild about the approach, but I'll be honest about the outcome.

People mistake bluster and "tough talk" for strength with this guy. Trump is a weak man's version of a strong man.

If the US actually gets measurably better trade agreements with major counties/blocs (talking China, Europe, Canada, Mexico, Japan, South Korea sized economies here), and the S&P 500 recovers to a measurable gain in 2025, I will say it was worth it, but will still disagree with the approach. We are currently trending in the opposite direction on both counts. If we wanted better trade agreements, he should have just negotiated them. WTF. A lot of the deals we had in place were from Trump's first term.

This isn't just historically based normal market seasonality at all. The market was doing quite well, and then very abruptly starting going down when Trump announced his genius tariff non-strategy. And has continued to tank since. This isn't just "markets gonna market". He did this deliberately. How would anyone need this to be explained to them?

In what world, and when, did it "make all that back and more"? The S&P was at 5975 when this dope took office. It's now at 5250. That's a 12% haircut. It never "made that back and more".

Other countries are making trade deals and shutting out the US. Trump isn't "destroying the global economy". Just the US economy. Which was the best in the world before he was elected. And the MAGA rally goers cheer, probably because they have nothing to lose anyway. They're not the crowd that saves in their 401k every year, they're the losers who blame immigrants and Obama for their lack of wealth.

Pretty quiet in here after the Fed Chair called Trump a dope today, which everyone already knew, oh and the market dropped another 3% today. Great job on the self-own. Again, guy could have done nothing and just taken credit for the solid economy left to him. Clueless.
