The best part is the primaries begin in January 2028. Just over 24 months from now. No more presidents named Obama, Biden, Trump, Bush, or Clinton. It’s been a run, and not in a good way. 330 million Americans. We can do better.

I see this as a feature of Democracy, not a bug. It’s not healthy to overly “like” the President. They’re supposed to serve 4 years, a maximum of 2 times, and be an advocate for the 300 million Americans, not just the top 1% wealthiest. They’re supposed do this by being stewards of Defense spending, Social Security and Medicare. Those are the 3 areas of the Federal government that make up the spending. Most other stuff is noise. Fervent support of a president leads to authoritarianism like regimes and cult-like behavior. It’s unhealthy, for individuals and society. Don’t worship a politician, or anyone for that matter.

It will be nice to (hopefully) have actual primaries where voters can decide the candidates. Things have been broken since 2016 when Dems stole the nomination from Bernie using "superdelegates". That said, it's not certain those will be the two candidates by any stretch. Most of the assertions being made in here so far are one person's opinion being cast as "this is the way that it is!". No, it's not. My early favorite one is that it will be Newsom running on a trans platform

Nit-picking minor portions of an overall discussion while continuing to simp for the mega-millionaire/billionaire agenda isn't the flex you might think. Getting easily distracted by minor details in an overall point, or overly-focusing on the 0.1% transgenders in the country, are exactly some of the tactics ultra-wealthy MAGA uses to get you to support their agenda. Maybe one day they'll invite you to their country club. But they won't, they're too busy laughing at you all the way to the bank.

It's not just that they hate "Obamacare" because their cult leader tells them to, although that is part of it. There's a wider picture at play here being pushed by the wealthiest of the wealthy (not you). They have gold-plated health insurance for life. That's for them, not you. They don't want "regular people" having anywhere near the same level of health care that they enjoy. Notice how commercial air travel just keeps getting worse? Again, they fly private or charter. They don't want you having the same access to air travel that they have. Used to be that regular Americans could get to their destinations reliably, safely, and even with some modicum of dignity. Not anymore, if they can help it. That's for them, not you. All aspects of American life are going in this direction. Housing, education, youth sports. The wealthiest of the wealthy do not want you having the same or even similar opportunities that they enjoy. That is for them, not you. All policies since Trump took over his second term have gone this direction. It's basically Project 2025 in a nutshell. Enabled by MAGA, the most gullible and easily manipulated movement we've seen in America.

I'm not looking to personally benefit. What I want is a federal government that works for the majority of Americans, not just the richest of the rich. That means policies like maintaining/strengthening Social Security, taking steps to providing affordable health insurance options, and maintaining a strong national defense that doesn't attack other sovereign countries on a whim. Social Security, Medicare, and Defense are the three largest functions of the federal government, and that's where I want them to focus. Not on your culture war nonsense. Did your god teach you to do that, to bully weaker groups of people? Because that's what MAGA does.

This economy turned into a piece of crap once Trump took over and announced his idiotic "tariffs!!" policy, which everyone with a brain knew was a failure. MAGA of course supported it. All this dope Trump had to do was do nothing, and take credit for Biden's strong economy that Trump inherited (he also inherited a strong economy from Obama and fcked that up too). It would be easy to say Americans are stupid for re-electing a proven loser, but the truth is only MAGA really did that. Ironically 99% of them are rally-goers who are suffering with these stupid policies. But they don't care because ICE is deporting veterans and college kids with brown skin.

Trump showing himself to be a garbage human being for approximately the millionth time is the least surprising thing to stem from this awful family tragedy. RIP to those people.

Lawmakers in the Democratic party are as incompetent as it gets. If you get the 2 year extension on subsidies in exchange for exclusions on abortion, you take that deal 100 out of 100 times. Dopes.
