1. I don't believe they take a QB in the draft simply for taking a QB. Contrary to what many say, this offense doesn't necessarily need a franchise QB to run it.

I honestly believe every team needs to make the necessary moves to go up and get their player. The conversation would be much, much different had they done that with Russell Wilson. Instead they thought they could wait for him. Turned out to be a very big miscalculation on their part.

Point being is that their future QBs indentity has yet to reveal itself. The Vikings could give up on Ponder and/or Freeman. And I don't rule out Matt Barkley, whom I feel could be the right guy.

  2.

 Division race. It's only a "race" because the division is so bad. The Eagles 3 wins have come against teams with a combined record of 3-16. Honestly I'd rather they don't try to make the playoffs. The QB of the future is not on the roster and that is the most important thing in my opinion. If they win the division, they fall all the way in to the 20's in the draft. I'd rather they bottom out and hopefully get a top 10 pick.

I don't see the Eagle QB of the future coming out of next year's draft. I believe their QB is playing for another team, one that will be out there via FA next year.

The reason why I say this? There are teams that will draft in front of them who will be looking for QBs in the draft. A run on QBs should leave talented defenders still on the board.

I don't know who that FA QB will be, but I think he'll be there. Additionally, I think they should let Maclin walk and acquire a FA WR to play opposite Jackson. Someone like Hakeem Nicks would be a really good fit.

  3.

I like what I have seen and how can you not like a player who get's compared to Graham & Hernandez. Also Washington doesn't have much at WR (I think Garcon is overrated).

Is he a top 5 TE the rest of the way? Upside is there, good QB, favorable schedule. He was obviously the #1TE last week.

I own Gonzo (just traded DeMarco to get him) and Reed. Today I was offered Decker for Gonzo. I'm pulling the trigger and going with Reed as my TE1 the rest of the way.

The only legitimate fear with this guy is injury. He's no Vernon Davis/Jimmy Graham when it comes to physical build, so there's a high chance this guy gets hurt, especially running routes within the hash marks.

But the reward far outweights the risk IMO. Especially as RGME continues to raise his passing game.

  4.

They tried to force Vick into being a pocket passer in 2012, and it didn't end up well. From what I've seen, he's much better when given the option to run. Although a bigger injury risk.

This Sunday, he's a better option than Matt Barkley is what I'm saying.

  5. Does anyone have any thoughts about Fleener vs Reed ROS?

Fleener plays like a bonehead. Inconsistent hands. At some point, a QB is gonna bail on throwing him the ball. However, Wayne's injury may be his only saving grace. Fleener does get open, so maybe the sense of urgency kicks in and helps him focus on what he needs to do; catch the damn ball.

  6. What's Reed's value right now? I did my homework (thanks for the help) and started him with Graham on a bye. Is it possible for him to be a top 5 TE the rest of the way? We've seen TE come out of the woodwork mid season and have stellar second halves. Those of us smart enough to buy the early hype, are you buying or selling?

I got in last week. One just has to watch the kid on tape to know that he's the real deal. However, I do believe there may be an injury history with him. He could be ever slightly fragile as a TE.

For me, I like to see a player for 4 weeks to measure their consistency.

There is absolutely no denying his talent.

  7. Vick has to play. The Iggs can not afford to fall behind too much further or they can kiss this division race goodbye.

Exactly. Even if he doesn't run and sticks in the pocket as a passer, he's the best option they have. The Giants aren't exactly fielding a vaunted defense.

  8. I picked him up, then proceeded to trade Greg Olsen to a needy owner in return for Darren McFadden (he's my bi-week fill in). I'm rolling with Reed and Clay, Clay the starter until Reed can prove to be a consistent scorer.

  9. Seeing that I already had Jackson, I traded David Wilson (before the injury) and James Jones for Spiller. My guess is that Jackson will break down by week 10. Spiller should be healed and ready to carry the load from there on in.

If you are assured of making your playoff, trade for Spiller.

  10. I'd be happy to see him in Philly, as Vick's backup. Vick will get hurt at some point. Freeman would be a nice fit in the Kelly system. It would also give them the flexibility to trade Foles this year for a pick.

So in the offseason, if they are not in the draft hunt for a QB, they have options: Freeman, Barkley, or Vick.

  11. Just traded Dave Wilson and James Jones for Spiller. I could afford to trade Jones as my receiving corp is deep. Additionally, I already have Jackson.

Jackson starting as my RB2 this evening. Spiller will eventually get there. I am confident.

  12. The issue is along the offensive line. Wilson has no room to run, Eli has no time to throw. Nicks can't get early separation, Giants have no viable TE threat.

Attitude adjustments aside, it's hard to polish this turd. The defense doesn't help as they allow the opposition to score and put the pressure on the Giants offense.

I just traded Wilson and Ja Jones for Spiller. On a better team with more upside. Never thought I would be saying that Buffalo is a better team than the NY Giants.

  13. Brees is the only guy I would consider in a trade involving Manning. To me, there isn't much difference between the two. Except Manning is on an incredible roll right now. Very similar to the one Brees went on late last season.

That said, there is a huge difference between Cruz and James Jones. Julio, Cruz and Nelson are #1,3 and 5, respectively, in WR scoring average. Since we start 3WR weekly, that is a HUGE lineup advantage.
