    Pennington hurt

Jets fans were cheering, even louder when Pennington kept going down. Very shady.

    Gambino vs. Mikeock

Betts will be involved in the offense and should get at least 40% of the carries. Speculation, of course, but I would be wary of hedging my bets on Portis being the workhorse. Betts is far more valuable than Hunt, and Manning is more valuable than Brady but not by a whole lot. I'd say it's an even trade and goes by your preference.

    Randy Moss

The one and only reason I could see why Moss owners would be tempted to bench him in a given week is if he ends up being downgraded to questionable on the injury report. The Pats are so deep on offense that Belichick has the luxury of making Moss inactive on a given week if there are injury concerns and the matchup is simple enough. So keep an eye on that. Only do this if you have a viable option ready to sub in for him. Like don't bench him for Eddie Kennison or anything like that. Other than that, I would say start Moss with confidence until you see reason to do otherwise.
  10. Here are last year's participants. They all get automatic invites to return for 2007, but I'll most likely need alternatives who will fill in for those who choose not to return. It will be a live draft on Yahoo, scheduled for Saturday, September 1st, at 2:00 PM ET. Participants 1. Somerville Shamrocks (DBZ) IN! 2. Blackout City (TUS) IN! 3. South Shore Stomperz (SayChowda) IN! 4. LT's Crack Dealer (Thin Spirit) IN! 5. The Fightin' Amish (Rally Millar) IN! 6. Fatboys (Patriotsfatboy1) IN! 7. Happy Valley (Jimmy) IN! 8. tikigods IN! 9. Toxicity Raiders (yanko) IN! 10. North Shore Shockers (cgod) IN! 11. Ikeatlanta IN! 12. Bikini Bottom Bruise (gocolts) IN! Alternates ============================== One change that I plan to make is make it instead of 3 WR, 2 RB, it's 3 WR, 1 RB, 1 WR/RB. So while it's a good idea to have 2 starting RB's, it's not necessary. Adds a little element of strategy. Either that, or makes it harder to trade. I'm not sure. But I think it's a good idea. Anyway, if you want to return for this season, reply here. I've already sent the league ID and password to those who allowed email from last season. If you're not on this list and are interested as a possible alternative, reply here and keep an eye on this thread and I'll make a decision later.

Mike Bell is on the trading block

Green Bay just placed Noah Herron on injured reserve. This means they have room for another RB. Not sure they would be willing to pay up to get Bell though. They seemed satisfied with Jackson and Morency so long as they're healthy.

Rodney Harrison suspended 4 games for HGH use!

I'd rather be without Harrison for the first 4 weeks of the season than to miss him for the playoffs (like they've had to the past two years).

  21. Tatum did that in a preseason game, to make matters worse. Harrison hasn't crippled anyone yet.

    Thank you Tikigods!
  24. 1) HGH is not the same as steroids, though many will think that to be the case. Merriman, on the other hand, tested positive for nandrolone, which is a steroid. 2) Harrison was desperate to heal quickly, so he used the HGH. He shouldn't have, but at his age, I can see why he went that far. He went a great length to try to rush back and help his team, even if it went against the rules and set a poor example. 3) If he's a scumbag, it should be because of his dirty hits, not this latest scandal. There are far worse scumbags in that regard, including anyone charged with a DUI, because that's putting other people's lives in danger. Rodney Harrison is my favorite Patriot and I don't view him any differently. I'll still cheer for and support him, despite the disappointment in all the negative attention this scandal draws.

NEFFL 2007 (full), drafting today at 2 PM ET

Actually it went from 8:30 (central time, I take it) to no draft to 1:00. Sorry about the change. It just occurred to me that people are more likely to be available on a Saturday afternoon than on a Saturday night. BTW I cannot focking believe the lack of interest in the league this season. I've never had a situation where it was so difficult filling up vacancies until now.
