  1. Took Ravens -11 for 2 units

    Over 39 for a half

See this game something like 34-13.

Browns have injuries to key LBs, Quinn at QB and no weapons outside of Cribbs.

The Ravens gotta win and can put up points. I think the Browns hang around in the first half vs. an overrated Ravens D and get smoked in the second.

    good luck to all

    yep

  4. Liking Texans, 49ers and Eagles....

Any reason why the Packers are going to do a better job blocking the Viks D-line than the first game?

(Serious question--Don't follow the Pack close enough to know what's going on with the O-line)

Cuz if it's the same bunch as the first game you will get the same result and I like the Viks to win SU.

  5. 0-2 posted this year

Got away from posting on here, but have strung togther a few good weeks so I thought i'd resurface.

Playing UNC +16 tonight for 2 units, it seems like too many points...I made this 10.

Probably staying away from WVU, although gun to head i take WVU because of SFla's very inexperienced QB..

    Leans for Saturday

    Ohio -6.5..fade of Ball State

Wisconsin -6.5... They are much more physical than Purdue and should dominate the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball.

Indiana +17.5 Iowa is banged up (Lineout broke leg, down to 3rd string RB) and hasn't blown anyone out this year except for Iowa State. Think Indy can hang around and make this a close game.

Nebraska-13...Baylor has been terrible since they lost their QB. Not scoring at all while Nebraska should be ready after 8 TOs last week and back to back home losses. See an anrgy tlaented team playing a bad team. Nebraska lays the wood to Baylor in this one.

SJState +35...This game was close last year into the middle of the 4th quarter. This seems like way too many, but I do know that SJState is bad this year so probalby a small bet for me.

Temple +7...See last year's game. Big Time Revenge and Dobbs still out for Navy at QB...

Toledo -5 vs. Miami...Toledo ran all over Miami last year and I look for the same this year. Toledo QB situation does make me a tad nervous though...

Canes -7...Wake has no offensive explosivenes. Feel like Miami will hang 30 on them and they won't keep up.

Lville -4...Don't get this line...Made this 12. I guess people are fading LVille and their terrible coach, but Ark State??

    Air Force -4...Fade of CSU

S Car +7...Tennessee is playing better, but I think this one is a tight low-scoring game that goes to the wire. Two weeks ago, S Car would have been favored in this game.

Oregon +3.5...USC has not impressed me this year. Ducks have Masoli back and will have a big HFA at night.

Mich State -4...Minny without Decker is very challenged on offense. Think Mich State will roll as long as they can shake off the end of the Iowa game.

Good luck to all, and all are welcome to chime in with comments.

  6. 0-0

Playing NC State -4 for 2 units...

NCST QB Russell Wilson was very impressive to me last year absolutely destoying teams last year toward the end and would have had a bowl win if not for an injury. Last year's score (34-0) is very deceiving as it was only 3-0 when Wilson was knocked out of the game.

Ol Ball Coach still has Garcia at QB, so I like the home team and much better QB here.

Playing Oregon if I get 3 or more, two units

Oregon's QB Masoli was knocked out of last year's game by a cheap shot late hit by Boise. By the end of the game, Oregon was playing a fifth-stringer at QB in the loss.

I think Oregon has had this one circled for a long time and while going against Boise on the smurf turf isn't usually a good idea I will do it if I'm getting 3 or more. (I bet with a local so I don't know what he's going to have it at...)

Oregon's big moose running back returns and I think Boise won't stop them on the ground.

    Good luck to all

    Got Ducks +3

  7. Gentlemen

    Got some early leans.

I plan on jumping back in for more dicussion later this week. But my initial thoughts:

    Thursday

NC State -5 vs S Car

    Oregon +4 vs. @Boise

    Saturday

    Navy/OSU UNDER 47 @ OSU

    Wake Forest -2.5 vs. Baylor

Illinois -6.5 vs. Mizzou (in StL)

    Ohio U. +3.5 vs. UConn

    E. Mich -5.5 vs. Army

    Alabama/VT UNDER 38 @ Atlanta

    C Mich +13.5 vs. @ Arizona

    Monday

    Cincy +6 vs. @ Rutgers

    Canes +6 vs. @ FSU

  8. Talk to me about Akron, Phillybear...

I was just breaking down that game and saw multiple edges for Cincinnati.

Can't see how Akron will be able to run at all and Cincy has passed on good teams like Oklahoma and Miami Fl. Meanwhile, Akron's run defense couldn't even stop Syracuse who everyone knows is coming with the run.

What's your thoughts on this one?

  9. Early leans

    Cin/Cle OVER 44.5

Always got to look at the Over in the Battle of Ohio. Bengals showed some life last week and Brownies are due to have a good offensive game after getting some good defenses in previous weeks.

    Tenn -3

Tenn has a super defense and is emerging as a real sleeper to me. I like Minnesota but just can't see Gus Frerotte going on the road and winning this game.

    SD -7

Oakland is one-dimensional. SD will stack the line and Rivers is playing out of his mind right now. Only thing that worris me is the short week coming off the MNF game.

    NO/SF Over 48

There is a reason that this is the highest OVER on the board this week--New Orelans has no defense and Mike Matrtz is coming to town. SF has a better defense than in previous years but NO has some great playmakers. Wouldn't be surpised by a 35-27 type game here at all.

  10. Gents:

Been away for a while on vacation and the windstorm in Ohio had my power knocked out as well. Back at it this week though, here's what I'm thinking right now...

    Ohio State -18

Beanie Wells makes all the difference in the world for this team and he was back at practice this week at full speed. Pryor had a 4TD game vs. Troy and really was starting to put it together in the second half of that game.

Now, Minnesota who had problems with N Illinois and hasn't played anyone on the way to a 4-0 record comes into the Shoe. OSU is on the verge of a breakout game, will it be this week? I don't think it's asking too much for them to beat one of the worst teams in the Big Ten by three TDs. OSU's defense hasn't been very good, but I got to think they will start showing their true form in Big Ten play. Of course, maybe they are just overrated. We will see how they do against a Gopher offense that is nothing special.

    Purdue +1

N Dame needs to show me something before I think they can beat at least an average Big Ten team like Purdue. Painter should have his way passing on ND, and I don't think Claussen can get it done through the air. ND's only hope is to run on Purdue and I can't see it happening.

    W Michigan -4

Temple's starting QB got knocked out last week and he really makes that team go. Just see a letdown for a deflated Temple and WMU seems better on both sides of the ball.

    Auburn -6.5

Rocky Top is not good. Auburn's new spread offense looked pretty good to me vs. LSU. I can't see Tennessee hanging in this game and I think it could be a trip behind the woodshed.

    Illinois +14.5

Illinois showed me a lot of speed and talent against Mizzou even though they got smoked. I don't believe that Penn State is as good as they have looked. Juice Williams should be able to keep Illinois in this game--I think it goes to the wire.

    Wisky -6

Michigan's offense has shown me nothing.

    N Mexico State +3

You get a home doggie and N Mexico is breaking in a new QB in a rivalry game. A bit of a gut play, but give me State here...

    Alabama/Ga UNDER 45

Need to look into this more, but surprised to see this over 41 or 42. Also lean slightly to Ga. because of superior QB although Bama in the trenches is tough.
