We all know by this point that refs (especially in college) pay no attention to the standard of review on these calls. Brady may have gotten that first down, but the ref should have spotted and measured it in the first place.

That non-sack by Freeney was the result of the BS rules that don't allow guys to hit QBs anymore. Freeney pulled up, thinking that Brady was about to throw and probably didn't feel like getting a 15 yard penalty for "roughing the passer." If he wasn't concerned about BS penalty calls, he could have finished the hit for a sack.
