  1. I am up to draft need a Young QB, do I draft Stafford or Sanchez

    who does everyone perfer

    please let me know Thanks

Stafford for late this year... for sure next year...the guy is STUD Qb just waiting to play....

  2. I have been hearing good things about Stafford, less good about Sanchez, and almost nothing about Freeman.

Where should the be drafted in keeper leagues (say 4 players), or in an initial dynasty draft.

    J

All I can say is that Stafford will be one of the strongest QBs in the league within two years. If not this year... next year. Don't miss having him on your roster in Keeper leagues.

I watched him in his debut and every pass except one was on the money... he reminds me of a young Farve. A rocket arm with deadly accuracy. I just hope he doesn't throw as many picks as Farve...but he is WAY ahead of the curve.

Draft with confidence that he will be the man maybe late this season but without a doubt next year.

  3. Yeah.. that is what I was thinking.... but it is tempting to take Bryant Johnson because you know that he will also be getting a lot of looks and he is so much younger....

Thanks for your input... I appreciate it.

Well, Martz has worked with Bruce before, so I think he wont need any adjustment time for him. The only issue is age, but that plays a smaller factor in a timing based offense like martz runs, so Bruce could be a good pick for this year and next.

  4. I have Torry Holt & L. Coles

    The list of possibilities....

I.Bruce or Bryant Johnson SF, R. Williams Jac, J Gage Ten, R. Brown Phi, P. Crayton Dal

There are some others... but you see what is left.

This is a 12 team with 6 off keepers.

Standard rules.... I used my first three picks solidifying my RB... since I am drafting 10th... It has been difficult.

Any words of advice on SF wrs.... is martz really going to get production from Bruce... or is he just pulling him into the organization to help develop others?

I am leaning towards I. B. but will Bryant Johnson be the man?

  5. Yeah ... I have read a little about him and he is looking very good.... however when questioned about Greg Jennings status since he hasn't caught a pass in the last two games....McCarthy insists that Jennings is still #2.. Jones ...against Seattle... 4 catches for 58 yards with two touchdowns....one from Farve and one from Rogers. .. but.....

What if the second half slow down by Jennings last year continues? How long would it be before Jones gets more playing time...

Those that watched Jones at SJSU say he was a beast. Some that have watched him live say that he is something special.

I picked up Jennings earlier in my keeper league draft.... I am currently on deck in round 12.... he is still available so I thiink I will select him just in case Jennings doesn't pan out this year.

I'm talking about James Jones, the WR for the Green Bay Packers. I've heard he is looking pretty good so far and is almost a lock to secure the 3rd WR spot. Expectations are good for this 3rd round pick. So what do you guys think his impact will be this year, and maybe next year? Is he worth picking up in a 12 team keeper league where 1 rookie is kept each year? Or is he just being a bit overhyped right now?

  6. I am also 3rd pick in one of my drafts ... number one has announced his pick will be LT.... number two has announced his pick as Steven Jackson.... sooooo.....

That leaves me with the same choice as you.... and I am going with Gore.

    Good luck

  7. We have a keeper league and I built up a powerful team through trades over the last couple of years.

P.Manning, S. Jackson, Tiki (retiring, but still), K.Jones, T.O., TJ Housh. It is a flex so you can start three RB's. I won ten straight games and won the league. For the last few weeks people have been saying they want to go back to a redraft league. I will have to turn all of these guys in because it looks like that is the direction we are headed.

How lame that would be..... I am in a 10 player keeper...6 offense and 4 defense... 12 teams....

I finished in 5th this year.... I missed the final four by a couple of wins... won the conselation round and ended up in 5th. It takes patience and football smarts to improve each year.

Next year I start with Alexander, MJD, T. Jones and Frank Gore.... throw in my waiver pick up Tony Romo and I can focus on a couple of good WRs....I think this should put me up in the top of our league...

Now if some in the league wanted to change to a re-draft I would be pissed. I would tell them start a NEW re-draft and continue to play the Keeper or find new owners that are willing to wait a couple of years to be competitive, which may be difficult if yours is a money league. Mine isn't... it is just for bragging rights.

    Anyway...best of luck

  8. BTW, it should be noted that Troy Smith is not considered a top pro prospect, i would be very suprised to see him go in the top 15, and will likely be an end of the 1st/start of the 2nd type of guy. He is short for a QB and don't have great arm strength. If he hadn't of had such an incredible senior year, he wouldn't of even been drafted, he is very smart and accurate and great in the clutch, and that alone should put him in or near the 1st round.

It is always interesting to hear the experts say someone is to small... or not strong enough... One that comes to mind is Doug Flutie. He became (in my opinion) a great QB even though he did not have all the qualities that the experts say is needed....

I could name others... but I really think that Troy Smith may be one of these type of players. I don't disagree that he has a real team around him... but he has played equal to his team.... the best in the U.S..

Anyway.... I hope as many here have stated, that the Lions draft whoever the most wanted player is and trade him for OL and other picks.

Thanks for your thoughts... as a life long Lion fan... all we have is hope.:-)

tigers were turned around in 2 years? i disagree...

i would say 4..they had to draft the pitching they have now...trade for guys like ordonez..get irod...

but yes..with leyland and a healthy ordonez..it was a quick turnaround..the tigers also added casey and others...

the lions arent that far off anymore..especially if they can draft a QB, sign michael turner at rb...and marcus robinson at wr..get willie roaf to come back and play the line again...

but they need ron wolf at gm..they need to believe in their GM..wolf will make mistakes also..but the team and city will still trust his moves...millen would be a loser in our ff leagues, let alone being a real gm..

Yeah your correct... but you have to admit... looking at the number of wins they had in 2004 and now in 2006.... it was a two year turn around. The changes made...Pudge being the first.... started the change.... the final piece of the puzzle...Leland coming back to Detriot.....

I think the Lions are actually a better team than they were last year or the year before... they lost a lot of very close games this year.... and at times the offense moved the ball very well.... what surprized me was the defense actually took a step backwards.... something that was improving the last couple of years.

Anyway.... spring training is only a couple of months away... :pointstosky:

  9. I personally think they need to take Brady Quinn or Troy Smith ... then trade for proven OFFENSIVE LINEMEN who can actually protect the QB.

Will it matter? Probably not... but... the Tigers turned it around in two years.... so I can't give up hoping that the Lions could do the same.

    Just my Humble Opinion...

    :ninja:

  10. YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!

Yessss is right... I won my league because of Gore....but how lame is the play calling for the 49ers...

At one point they had second and short and they throw TWO passes incomplete...and at the time Gore had 10 carries for over 50 yards.... get the freaking first down with your money man....it is a wonder that the 49ers won as many games as they did....

How important was that game with St. Louis now.... another terrible play call....lost that game...

    Maybe next year niners....

  11. 1. Bush

    2. Jones Drew

    3. M. Colston

    4. Maroney

    5. Addai

    So many to choose from.

Got to go with my boy Bush.. He's been turning up the heat.

    MJD.... is my choice...

I drafted him and Gore in a keeper league...to go along with Thomas Jones and S. Alex...

I missed the playoffs mainly because of SA ... but next year I will be able to focus on some quality WRs to compliment my RBs...

  12. I won my league with the following lineup....

    A. Smith... QB

    F. Gore..... RB

    L. Johnson..RB

    J. Galloway..WR

    A. Battle......WR

    A. Crumpler..TE

    N. Rackers...K

    GreenBay...Def....

I ended the day with 106 points to my opponets 77... he had terrible matchups... and mine were pretty good..

100 points was about average in our league this year... so not a great day for me... but I got lucky again....

The only real mistake today was sitting Brady over A. Smith... oh well... I won anyways....

Whooo Whooo... my first league championship....

  13. Driver will have a decent game. He'll probably get close... but won't get 100 yards.

Larry Johnson will have a good day for yardage... maybe 130-140 yards... but will have a hard time getting into the endzone. 1 score would be realistic.

Well you nailed that one didn't you... :bench:

I have him as one of my RB in our championship this week... I was hoping beyond hope that he would have at least 2 scores... but the way he has been shut down at the goal line this year... I will take the one and 135 yards. He gave me a solid 19.5 points ....

Now I need Frank Gore to tear Ariz a new ahole....

  14. I am the commissioner of three leagues, and our add/drop deadline in each league stopped prior to the Week 11 games. As commissioner, I feel that each team needs to have their lineups and benches set well before the playoffs. I dont want any team getting lucky and picking up some waiver wire guy to help them win a championship. I place alot of value on the draft, and each team still has 11 weeks to add/drop players to better their team. Plus, you can ensure yourself a backup at each position by just carrying an extra TE, Kicker, etc.

I just see so much stuff about who to pick up this week, and this is the championship week for fantasy leagues. I think that is lame. :bench:

I completely disagree with you here.... WW is there for everyone to use. I try to prepare for injuries...but sometimes you have to go to the wire to find a replacement. Even if I didn't have injuries.... if I think there is a better matchup from a defense or player on the wire... I should be able to make the change. My opponent has the same ability.

I put in a lot of time reading about the matchups and make changes the entire year ...to prevent me from continueing from playing the game as I have all year just punishes me for studying the match-ups and choosing to make changes.

I am against roster dumping by teams that are no longer in the running. That is something that would change the status quo of the wire.

This week I picked up GB against Minn ... choosing not to play my main D... NE... Will it work out... if the Jags can score this week... I made a great choice and am on my way to being league champ.

  15. I need to start one of the three following wide receivers. Which one should I pick?

    Joey Galloway is at Cleveland.

    Chad Johnson is at Denver.

    Laveranues Coles is at Miami.

Johnson and Coles are apparently dinged up. I really dont want to wait till game-time to make this decision.

They all have a downside...but the upside of Galloway is Rattay liked him last week in their near upset of Chicago.... and Cleveland is no Chicago...

I would go with Galloway as the other two defenses are tough....

    Good Luck

  16. Here are my RB. and I need to start two of them. in league 1.

    Larry Johnson @ Oak

    Frank Gore vs Ari

    Brian Westbrook @ Dal

    Ladell Betts @ Stl

    Travis Henry @ Buf

PPR league. 10pts for TD. 20yards/1pts

For league 2. chosee two of four.

    Steven Jackson vs Was

    Frank Gore vs Ari

    Ledell Betts @ Stl

    Ronnie Brown vs NYJ

    PPR league. 6pts/TD, 10yar/1pt.

Thank you and don't forget to leave a link.

The same as my starting two.... LJ and Gore... they will each have monster days this week.... these two are right behind LT in rushing this year... no doubts for me who I would play....

Gore and Betts in your second league...

  17. I just picked up Curry - he will be the number one against Kansas City in Oakland or do I go with Furrey at home against the Chicago Bears......help from "fantasy nation" :pointstosky:

The only thing I could say about using Furry is that if your league gives a point per reception as mine does... Furry is being used alot for short crossing routes for first downs... he will be tossed to at least ten times against the Bears as the Lions running game gets stuffed....

I would expect 6-8 catches for 40 to 80 yards... Kitna also likes him inside the red zone, so there is always that possibility that he scores a TD.... he is quick and could burn one for long yardage also....

    Good luck....

  18. Galloway is a good call at WR.

Battle... not so good for 2 reasons:

    1) hes the #2 WR on a team that's not overly strong on the pass.

    2) you would have both the SF QB and the SF WR starting at the same time.

I would switch him with either Mason or Berrian (I'd probably go with Berrian)

Your other option is to replace Alex SMith with Brady. Brady is the safer play because he rarely gets less than 200 yards passing in a game.... Alex Smith cant say that.... but Alex SMith has a sweet matchup so I'd still go with him but I'd reduce my risk by going with a different WR.

    good luck man.

    Some great inputs from everybody...

I certainly have been putting a lot of time in these choices....

Brady just hasn't had a good run this year... he is steady... but it seems as though NE would rather rush the ball across the line instead of throw.... Brady will have tons of completions and barely over 200 yards passing.... it has been a crap shoot with him all year.... so since I have to take a chances to beat a better team with tougher matchups... I will go with Smith.....and a very weak Ariz passing D.

Berrian started hot... and has one good game since he returned from his injury....and there is a risk of him not getting as much playing time as a do or die game would neccessitate.

    A. Bryant won't be playing... Battle will have to respond.... he had a great game against Seattle and his confidence should be high.

I know I am putting all my eggs in one basket...but the matchup is so good.... I can't help but think I will have at least two of three solid scores between my 49er players... and with my opponents matchups... I think that will give me enough to win....

It does take a little luck sometimes also... and this year has been good to me in that respect...:-)

    Thanks for the help...

I will let you all know how I fared on Monday...

  19. Who should I start?

    Palmer @ Den

    Grossman @ Det

    Bulger vs Was

Grossman most likely would be my first choice..but he may not play a complete game....

    Bulger has been inconsistant....

I would go with Palmer in a shoot out....

    Good Luck....

  20. please help. Thanks.

I love MJD.... Taylor's out.... MJD will get 25-30 carries... at least two will be for TDs....

I have had him on both my Fantasy teams... unfortunately... behind LJ and Gore in one of the leagues...however...in my Keeper league he has been outstanding....

    Good Luck...
