I love this post! Especially since I wrote it last year. http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...;hl=beefcurtain Loser!

    Derrick Ward

I'm starting him because Jacobs and Cadillac are both hurt. My other running back, Deangelo Williams, seems like more of a gamble than Ward. I don't want to jinx myself but there is a solid history of no name runningbacks coming in for injured stars and performing well. A few years back I won a few games when Dom. Davis made his first few starts. Also, Nick Goings stepped up big for me once. Why not Ward?

    Brandon Jacobs walking without limp!

As a Jacobs owner this is obviously positive. But there is a big difference between walking without a limp and being able to play full contact football, especially for a bruiser like Jacobs.

    Caddy

Same with me. I have a waiver claim on Jacobs back up. Otherwise I will have to start D. Williams if Caddy misses Sunday.

what can I expect with the 7th pick?

I drafted 7th last night in a 10-team non-ppr league. Took Parker, S. Smith, B. Jacobs then Housh. Bush was taken 12.
  10. I picked 7th in a 10-team league last night. Start 3wr's, no flex, no ppr. 6 pts for TD, 4 pts for passing TD. Your thoughts are appreciated. QB- McNabb, Hasselbeck RB - Parker, Jacobs, Caddy, D. Williams, Duckett WR- S. Smith, Housh, Glenn, Chambers, T. Williamson TE - Shockey K-Graham D-Denver
  11. Curry for his upside. Mason for a dependable, almost solid type guy. http://www.fftodayforums.com/forum/index.p...p;#entry3253612

    How does this team look?

Looks great. I had a 10-team draft last night and Maroney went #10 while Addai went 4. Only thing I would worry about is depth at RB. Not excited about Dunn or Morency.
  13. I've seen Manning going everywhere from 3rd overall to the third round. At what point does he become an excellent value and too good to pass on?

    2nd round dilemma

For those of you picking 7-8 in a 10-team league, who are you looking to nab in round 2? Manning - Is a QB worth going #14? Portis - Injuries and Betts? S. Smith/C.Johnson - WR rather than a RB? R. Brown - Brutal offense, poor preseason? MJD, Benson, Jacobs - Too early? I'm actually temped to take Benson or Jacobs. They will get 80 percent of their carries and score TD's. Problem is that I can't trade down to get max value.

    Westbrook/Parker and the Goalline

According to the Philadelphia Inquirer Westbrook is expected to lose goalline carries to rookie Hunt. I'm a big Westbrook fan but after suffering with Tiki Barber last year I can't bare to have another RB lose out on goalline carries. Do you think Parker will keep goalline carries even after last game's fumble and the aquisition of Davenport? Tony Hunt touched the football seven times Friday night and moved it a total of 5 yards. A seemingly unimpressive 15 feet. But the Eagles were impressed with Hunt. Not only Friday night, but throughout training camp. Mostly because they see Hunt, their third-round draft choice out of Penn State, as a viable option to replace tailback Brian Westbrook in goal-line situations. Hunt did that Friday against Carolina and scored twice -- first from the 3, then from the 1 -- in the first half of an easy 27-10 preseason victory in south Philly. "That's not a bad deal. Not at all," Hunt said when asked about becoming a goal-line specialist as a rookie rather than competing for more carries behind Westbrook. The former is a distinct possibility, the latter unlikely unless the multi-faceted Westbrook gets hurt -- and no one with the Eagles wants to see that happen before or during the NFL season. "Being a rookie, anytime you get on the field above special teams is a great thing," Hunt said. "If I can get out there on offense, I would be really happy." The Eagles would be pleased, too. Anything to ease the burden on the 5-foot-10 Westbrook.

    Westbrook/Parker and the Goalline

Where did you see that Davenport is expected to get goalline duty? Not sure that's decided.

    Westbrook/Parker and the Goalline

It's news because they have a runningback this year who they may be grooming as a goalline back. They didn't necessarily have that last year. Add that to Westbrook's perceived fragility and there is trouble brewing. As far as your argument about him scoring from outside the 5-6 yard line, that may be true but that's the same argument given by Barber supporters last year and he ended up scoring 1 TD weeks 1-16.

    2nd round dilemma

Agree with most of what you're saying here. In my league, though, I expect the first 13 picks to be RB's, incl Rudi, McGahee and Bush. I don't want to take a potential bust (Brown, Edge, Benson MJD) over established studs like CJ, S. Smith or Manning.

    2nd round dilemma

McGahee, Bush and Maroney should be gone by 14. At what point does Manning become a value pick that can't be passed up? I think second round, but not at 14.

Chicago Homers: Local talk on Benson

Your "source" has no idea what he is talking about if he thinks Wolfe will start this season. He wont even move ahead of AP on the depth chart. I live in chicago and listen to Bears talk daily. Wolfe is far beneath the radar.

Chicago Homers: Local talk on Benson

Benson is undervalued. He has no competition for playing time, plays for a team with a great defense that likes to win by grinding the ball and has young, fresh legs (that sounds gay, no?). I think he will be as good, if not better, than R. Brown. I am considering him at #14, especially over guys like MJD who will share carries.
