Two times I can remember giving up my seat. One there was a woman with a dog in the window, I had aisle, guy next to me asked if I would switch since he didn't like dogs. I do like dogs so I switched and made friends with the woman and the dog, had a nice flight. Another we were returning from the islands. My wife and I had aisle and window as I was hoping the middle would go vacant, but it was taken, and she asked if she could sit window to see the ocean since she never has. I obliged.
