There is a difference between being standoffish and submissive. Trump was submissive. He could have shown strength and been commanding while still showing a modicum of respect for a war criminal. Instead he bent the knee and groveled to him, and as a result he got nothing in return. He doesn't know how to deal with Putin.

And the agreement is Putin gets to continue the war as he sees fit and Trump agreed to sit down shut up about it. This is the exact opposite of trumps goal going in for a ceasefire. What makes you think anyone is rooting against peace? We absolutely want peace. We want a ceasefire. Trump wanted a ceasefire and went into yesterday saying he wouldn't be happy leaving without a ceasefire. What happened? Not only did he not get a ceasefire, but Putin played trump into saying he doesn't want a ceasefire anymore. There is nothing "winning" about this. Trump got coerced into repeating Putins orders. That's bad.

There is no agreement you idiot. The war rages on. Trump failed.
