Stock Market bubble - will burst - it did, and recovered twice. ***Official thread***
Ron_Artest replied to Gepetto's topic in The Geek Club
It's a nice consolation prize but your money should be in the market, except for emergency fund. I have a good chunk sitting in a high yield right now getting 4.3%. I also know that if rates go down that my fixed income and equities will rise in my investment accounts. I would rather those accounts increase than my emergency fund. -

Fixed income is great, bonds are great. But it's not a high yield savings like you talked about. The price of bonds is inverse to the rate. So when rates go down the prices of bonds go up and vice versa. Also there are times when both equities and bonds go down like we saw in 2022 when rates were rising. We could see the same thing next year if tariffs don't go away and take hold. But again, it's a not a guaranteed 4% like you get in a high yield savings account which is what you're giddy about. -
Well I'm the one that is here. I presented the fact that the EU framework is non binding, and I challenged RLLD and you to respond, and you can't. There are no links to dispute my points, they don't exist because I am 100% right, so go off and cry about it.

So if China said tomorrow they are buying Eleventy Billion dollars worth of US Made cars, you would be beside yourself about the huge win and praise Donald

Of course I understand rebalancing and equities/fixed income portfolio. But you're talking about being happy getting a guaranteed 4% in a high yield savings account. That's not what investors do with their money nor should they be happy getting 4%. If/when the fed lowers rates, valuations should go up, more than 4%. -

Enjoy your 4% sitting in cash bruh. Real big swinging d1ck you got When money becomes cheaper investment follows and markets go up. You should be invested in the market not sitting in cash getting 4%. Aren't you the guy that keeps accusing me of going cash and missing out on the market? Now you're happy in cash? bruh. -
So you're going to call me economically stupid, yet you can't rebut anything I said about the EU deal which destroys your narrative that it's a masterclass and a huge win. Thanks for playing. I've gotten better debate from children.
-
You want to explain to me how this EU deal was a masterclass and a giant win for america?

I guess if you're happy with 4%, but the market has returned much higher over time, and lowering rates usually results in a higher market. So you're sitting in cash now? -
OK so you agree with my assessment that this deal isn't anything great. Thanks. I'll ignore all your other BS about how you're always right and I'm always wrong on the same page as you conceded I'm right and you're wrong.

Why would you want the interest rates untouched? -
Do you want to dispute any of my points? Was I incorrect? Can you explain why this is so good? Are you even going to try or is it just fingers in your ears LA LA LA I"M RIGHT YOU'RE WRONG. I welcome you to prove me wrong here. Please.

So let's talk EU deal, the master class. What did the US get? Well we got a non binding framework first and foremost. We got a 15% tax on all EU imported goods. There was also talk about a $600B investment, right? Well not really, see it's private investment and the EU has no control over them. What about the $750B in energy? Well again it's non binding and it's also unrealistic and not likely to happen. See this is how most of the Trump negotiations have gone. The world knows Trump is old and stupid and easily manipulated. So you tell him what he wants to hear, and he eats it up. We saw this with the troops that Mexico sent to the border to avoid the fentanyl tariff, the troops that were already there. And the task force that Canada created, which already existed. So did I miss anything with the EU? Any other big "wins"? What you call a masterclass is a joke. So I agree that we're not done. You said we just witnessed was a master class in how to conduct negotiations to achieve the desired outcomes. Even though we're not done yet, can you name any desired outcomes that we have achieved and how Trump has achieved this? Otherwise we didn't witness anything, correct?

Accept that you are who you are, not who you think you need to be. I am also a law abiding tax paying productive member of society that provides and cares for his family -

Exactly. Unless you accept it you will always feel trapped in your own skin with an inability to achieve acceptance of yourself. -

You're very much like horseman. You've spent your life trying to prove how masculine you are, banging chicks, military, police, but nothing worked so you're spending your twilight years flaming people online -

@Horseman has some real issues going on. He's constantly insulting others calling them effeminate, women, weaklings. His sense of self worth is tied up in his masculinity, and toxic at that. Horseman thinks that masculinity is derived by being physically strong, having money and possessions, controlling women who display certain psychical qualities. He's a rather textbook case for a Narcissist Misogynist. Probably why he admires Donald Trump so highly. His reply to this will be a combination of laughing emojis, rent free, triggered, third grade summary, etc. -
So previously you stated we just witnessed was a master class in how to conduct negotiations to achieve the desired outcomes. But now you're saying the masterclass is still underway and we haven't seen the desired outcomes yet. As I assumed, you're full of sh1t
-
I wasn't wrong about tariffs. We haven't seen the full effect of the tariffs due to the pause. Last time I'll ask... So about that masterclass, desired outcomes and how he achieved them? I'm assuming you are refusing to answer this because you can't.
-
I'm not rooting for people to suffer, rooting for the opposite. So about that masterclass, desired outcomes and how he achieved them?
-
I would love to hear what the desired outcomes were and what we actually achieved. We heard so many different desired outcomes between balancing trade to building factories to raising revenue. All we have done so far is raised some revenue which I would argue there are easier and better ways of doing so. But feel free to explain this master class.
-
What we just witnessed is a guy that conveniently ignored the fact that tariffs were largely paused giving businesses a chance to import a large amount of goods before they kicked in and thus haven't had an effect on the economy yet. Not only did he ignore this, but he's now claiming that he was right all along. Truly a spectacle.
