LIBERATION DAY: USA and China agree to a 90 day pause on most new tariffs
Ron_Artest replied to The Real timschochet's topic in The Geek Club
Looks like Biden's economy still has some legs. -
why? Seems like overkill. 10g ports? Do you even have 10g service? LED that displays the weather? ok. You would also need to buy mesh units for that. My recommendation would be to get a free router from your provider, then buy a mesh system with several mesh units, place them around your house, and you're golden.
-
Do you even own your router? You can probably get one for free from your Internet provider. Fios gives you one for free. The router doesn't need to be the wifi.
-
It's not the router, it's the wifi. Get a mesh wifi. You can use it with your current router, just turn off the wifi and use the mesh wifi. Google makes a good one. I have deco, it's good.

I can read just fine. You keep telling me how long it takes for federal employees to retire. I never said it didn't. I don't know why you ever responded to me unless you disagree with the actual point I made is that Musk was full of sh1t when he said the elevator in the mine was holding up retirements.
-
What am I wrong about?
-
You're on board with the mine elevator theory too?
-
You're telling me that the elevator in that mine is what is causing the retirement lead time? That's what we're discussing here. Final answer?
-
Agreed, the government should not run like a corporation. A government's responsibility is to the health, safety and well being of its citizens. A government doesn't have shareholders.
-
Of course govt retirements take too long. Is it because of a top secret elevator in a mine shaft in PA? Of course not. Don't be a moron.

Typical toxic masculinity insult aside, it's not about wanting to give Harvard taxpayer money. The issue is about whether a president can extort private institutions for their own personal agenda. I am against this as should be every American. The distraction is having sympathy for an institution that has a giant endowment. It's hard to argue that they should get taxpayer money. What I will say is that these grants go to research, hospitals, etc. The funding helps people and saves lives. It's not paying tuition for a foreign grad student to get a degree in America hating. -

Harvard’s Trick for Fighting Trump? A Deep Bench of Conservative Lawyers. Harvard has hired lawyers connected to conservative Supreme Court justices and President Trump himself to fight its case against the government. Legal observers have said that Harvard stands a good chance of winning on the legal merits. Although the case could face headwinds if it reaches the Supreme Court, the roster of conservative-aligned lawyers was designed to give the university a boost in front of a court with a supermajority of Republican-appointed justices. https://www.nytimes.com/2025/05/02/us/harvard-trump-conservative-lawyers.html?unlocked_article_code=1.EE8.cCID.wahiFDwj1kJZ In a battles of brains between trump and Harvard, I'll take Harvard -
LIBERATION DAY: USA and China agree to a 90 day pause on most new tariffs
Ron_Artest replied to The Real timschochet's topic in The Geek Club
Allow me to explain. Inflation was a big problem the past few years. It was a concern of everyone .It spiked really high and then it came all the way down. We can debate the cause but the policies resulted in the decline. We were around 2.5% leading up to election day. Now that Trump is president, after promising to eliminate inflation and slash prices, his policies have re-introduced inflation and the forecast is now looking at over 3%. When a president is directly increasingly inflation it should be talked about by everyone. Conversely for 4 years all we heard from the right was how bad inflation was and how Trump will fix it. Now he's doing the opposite and silence from the right. That is your insanity. -

No house is clean. Biden saying he's gonna cure cancer was dumb. Bondi saying trump saved the lives of 258M people is also dumb. See how this works? -
