Republicans are against fair trade and want to use tariffs. Fair trade is ensuring that the producers of these goods follow ESG guidelines like earning a fair wage and working in acceptable conditions. This is where slave labor comes in. OK so ignorance it is. We have free trade with many countries that is mutually beneficial. Many US corporations have slave trade compliance that prohibits them from doing business with these companies that engage in slave labor. Tariffs have nothing to do with slave labor.
