Trump's NY Election Interference Trial - Trump is found guilty on all 34 counts
Ron_Artest replied to squistion's topic in The Geek Club
Are you referring to the fact that originally it was just a campaign finance violation? Trump was charged with 34 felonies related to falsifying business records. You can read them all here: https://www.cbsnews.com/news/trump-indictment-34-felony-counts-charges-new-york-read/ These felonies are a result of obtaining documents that Trump stonewalled for years. -

Not necessarily, could mean "better chance", but as we know, Bragg is prosecuting and wouldn't do so unless he thought he could convict, so obviously NY has enough good laws to convict in his opinion, and a grand jury's opinion. I already covered that. You can read the post above. The fed wanted Cohen to make a plea deal and he refused. So again it's not about the "nothingburger" that you lied about and thankfully will stop saying. -

So you've changed your story from "He thought it was a nothingburger" to "He couldn't prosecute him under NY Law" Is that correct? But obviously Bragg can right? Because he is. We'll see if he's successful, but your argument that the only reason he is in court is because "Orange man is bad" is a BS argument right? -

No problem. So you're referring to Cy Vance and why he didn't prosecute. In a 2023 interview, he explains why... I think it's public record that we commenced the investigation at around the same time as the Southern District of New York did. I was asked - we were asked by the Southern District of New York to stand down. We did stand down for probably over a year. And then it got to the point where Michael Cohen was indicted and pleaded guilty, and then it stopped. So that was one reason why we didn't move forward at the beginning. We were asked because the federal prosecutors were looking at it. They had better laws. So up until Michael Cohen pleaded guilty - and then this was really something that the federal government had asked that we not get involved with. His statements contradict your statement that he thought it was a nothing burger. Thoughts? https://www.npr.org/2023/04/02/1167665437/former-manhattan-da-cyrus-vance-calls-trump-indictment-extraordinary-event -

Sunk cost fallacy. Defending trump all those years, and some of it rightfully so, they can't accept what a turd trump has become. They keep defending before they realize they are no better than the guy yelling Hang Pence and beating up a cop. -

Many trumpers are like this. You got youre die hard maga idiots draped in trump flags with their F Joe Biden shirts saying trump is their savior. No hope for them. Then you got your Jerry crew who say they don't like trump but will try and defend him to no end. Eventually they turn and decide they don't need to make excuse after excuse for such a vile disgusting person. Jerry will get there. -

Both sides are whiny no doubt. I think the Democrats invented whiny following 2016, and then in 2020 the Republicans said hold my beer. The extremes are both babies for sure. -

What does any of this have to do with denying that you lost an election? Some wacko lady screamed at the sky so it's ok to believe lies about election fraud and claim that you won? WTF dude. Talk about self awareness. -

Obviously you didn't read the article. Though the prosecutors had gathered evidence of possible crimes by Trump, they couldn’t charge him due in part to longstanding Justice Department policy that bars federal authorities from bringing criminal charges against a sitting president. Has nothing to do with the federal prosecutors finding no violations, you made that up. Then after he lost and wasn't president, there was another reason the DOJ decided not to prosecute and that was regarding Cohen's plea deal. They wanted Cohen to divulge all previous crimes which he refused to do. The decision not to indict appeared to be rooted in lingering concerns about Mr. Cohen’s credibility and cooperation as a government witness. The Southern District prosecutors had informed Mr. Cohen that he had to provide a comprehensive accounting of his conduct as a condition of a cooperation deal, but he declined to be debriefed on other uncharged criminal conduct, if any, in his past, the prosecutors said in a 2018 court filing. https://www.nytimes.com/2023/03/31/nyregion/justice-dept-trump-indictment-charges.html THE TRUTH SHALL SET YOU FREE -

Muslim extremism is in the same bucket as Christian extremism, and thats the shite bucket. When religion violates human rights it's wrong, regardless of the religion or the color of the person. -

I'm gonna need you to back up this claim that others called this cases a nothing burger, but it was Biden that decided to go after Trump. That just smacks of trump propaganda easily swallowed by your side. I can't find anything to support that claim. In fact here is a good article that lays out the history of this case and why it took so long. https://www.politico.com/news/2024/04/15/trump-hush-money-case-history-00152172 Tl:Dr it was delayed since trump was president, trump fought against the subpoena and released of records for years. But I welcome anything you can provide to support your opinion. -
