You don't know anything about tariffs. No one does. We're at the whim of one man and whatever he feels like doing. As long as we have this uncertainty then business can't make decisions, can't plan, will just hoard cash and recession will be self fulfilling. And yes we're overdue and I don't see any more QE anytime soon.

Let me ask you, if we get rid of the people whose job it is to provide federal loans, grants and scholarships, then who is anyone going to get them?

I already pointed out the one good is college loans, grants and scholarships. I think this is important because I value education but I can see others thinking that we shouldn't help people graduate college.,

The federal govt only funds about 15% of funding for k-12 schools. 85% of school funding comes from state or local taxes. So it's already happening. Besides, eliminating the DOE is not going to lower anyone's taxes. It's not like we're all gonna get a tax cut. The Federal govt is gonna take the same amount of money and just use the DOE money for something else.

One of the largest expenditures for the DOE is helping students afford college. Eliminating this supports the republican belief that college is useless.
