I never made the claim if it was "needed" or not. United has decided that they want more diverse pilots. They have decided they want to increase the percentage. In order to do that they have decided that they want to create opportunities for black pilots by funding various programs. So for United it's not a total waste, it's an investment for them to reach their goals. So question is who are you to say United shouldn't do this? And who are you to say they are lowering their standards and hiring black pilots that you can't trust?

I never claimed they won't hire black pilots. The DEI programs promote opportunities for pilots who might otherwise not get them, primarily through financial assistance. The goal is to increase the diversity but they don't lower standards. That's the lie you believe.
