Airlines to give cash refunds for cancelled or delayed flights
Ron_Artest posted a topic in The Geek Club
Thanks Joe! Good looking out for the frustrated traveler. On Wednesday, the Biden administration announced two new rules for airlines in its years-long war on so-called “junk fees.” The White House says the new rules will help consumers save over half a billion dollars every year that they are currently overpaying in airline fees. The first new regulation mandates that carriers issue full cash refunds automatically instead of in response to customer requests when flights are canceled or significantly changed, when baggage return is significantly delayed and when ancillary services like inflight Wi-Fi are not provided to passengers who purchased them. https://www.forbes.com/sites/suzannerowankelleher/2024/04/24/biden-airlines-must-provide-automatic-cash-refunds-more-transparency/?sh=78ba0e7614a3 -

No that's stupid. There is a balance. Just like the govt has laws that stop airlines from colluding to jack up prices, the govt doesn't also have to set prices. You don't seem to understand that. -

So you would be ok if all the airlines got together and decided that they will all started charging a $1k surcharge for every passenger? And you'd be against the govt getting involved? -

OK, because it was kinda presented like it was fact, not that it will be their excuse. Also if you want to compare AP and Epoch Times, I like Ad Fontes media. They do a thorough job of scoring bias and use a multi scoring system, not just right or left. They grade multiple articles and produce a cool scatter plot. More transparent than a simple right or left. You can also filter to find another news source that you might want to follow. https://adfontesmedia.com/interactive-media-bias-chart/ You can see they have AP in the Middle or Balanced quadrant with good reliability. Epoch Times falls into Strong Right, almost Hyper Partisan right, and well below the reliability scale on the border of propaganda. -

Prosecutors alleged that an email Chesebro wrote on Dec. 13, 2020, showed that the strategy “was not to use the fraudulent electors only in the circumstance that the Defendant’s litigation was successful in one of the targeted states.” Instead, prosecutors alleged, “the plan was to falsely present the fraudulent slates as an alternative to the legitimate slates at Congress’s certification proceeding.” https://apnews.com/article/donald-trump-jan-6-investigation-fake-electors-608932d4771f6e2e3c5efb3fdcd8fcce Also Epoch Times -

Thinking that asking someone to vote their conscience is the same thing as telling Congress that you actually won. You're a complete moron. -

It was wrong and douchey for one of the Dem electors to try and get a R elector to not vote for Trump. It's illegal and a threat democracy to fake that you won an election. You're retarded -

Was the plan, in both instances, to fraudulently declare that you won the election in an attempt to steal the election? Yes or no If you answer "no", you're a doosh. If you answer "yes", you're a retard. Take your pick. -

Not only that, but they also claim that this could help Trump. Enough with the BS about how these trials help Trump. Trump is currently sitting in court, looking like a feeble old man, crying about being cold, crying about sitting in a chair, crying about his gag order. None of this helps his image of a tough, alpha, law and order, strong candidate. No smart person is going to see him catch more indictments and say to themselves, "Welp Trump has my vote now". And since Trump is fighting and delaying all these cases, he knows that they hurt him. He doesn't want to charged. He's terrified of going to jail. Such nonsense. -

Boyo, Dems didn't try this. You can't be this stupid. And for the record it's pretty lame for the Dems to ask republicans to not vote for Trump. But it's criminal for Republicans to fraudulently declare themselves winners when they lost. -

Yeah we're good with election integrity, honesty, law and order, democracy, absolutely. You're against all of it. You're not an American, you only live here.
