I'm sure the convention scheduling process is quite arduous. In the past when the GOP convention was scheduled past the Alabama date, Alabama moved their date. They're not doing so with the DNC. In Washington, they are giving them a workaround. So the precedent has been set that it's not a big deal to miss the state deadlines, states work around in. For Ohio and Alabama, they are indicating they will not give any exceptions. That's not "taking the high road", that is political sticking it to them.

And a point of logic that eludes you, if inflation started going up when he took office, then OBVIOUSLY it was lower under Trump. To take his statement and twist it to say that inflation has gone DOWN when he took office is completely asinine. Even a child can understand this. Fast forward to August 2022, Inflation reduction act, did some good things to lower inflation but also included a bunch more spending which didn't help. At this point though inflation was already coming down thanks to rate cuts and some resolution to the global supply chain issues from covid along with energy production ramping up.
