Taking over Venezuela will not do anything to help keep Oil pegged to the dollar. It will in fact hurt it, as with everything Trump has done so far from tariffs to running up the debt and soon dropping interest rates to nothing. This will continue to devalue the dollar. I also mention this a lot, but low oil does not help us, it hurts us. Below $60/barrel, it's not profitable to drill new wells. Same with US Shale. We're currently at $55. Our current rig count is lower than it was a year ago. By taking over Venezuela and bringing in US companies, the govt would get a cut, and in turn Trump personally would get a huge cut.
