Just. The time magazine calls out cuts for reimbursement for emergency care for illegals which says accounts for <1% Medicaid spending. It's also calls out cuts everywhere. You don't save a trillion dollars by cutting out reimbursement for illegals ER care. Bottom line is the Republicans through the BBB cut Medicaid funding up and down. Democrats want to stop that. The illegal talk is the distraction.

They don't contradict each other. 1) illegals cannot sign up for the ACA or Medicaid. 2) anyone who shows up in a hospital ER and needs care gets it. Govt may reimburse hospital for services.

Exactly. It's the law that hospitals treat anyone in an emergency. If Republicans were serious they would change the law so illegals can't be treated. Also it's not just reimbursement for illegals, it's reimbursement for everyone. If Democrats were smart they would try and make a deal to carve out the illegals to fully eliminate that talking point.

Forget illegals, it's a red herring. 2 main issues. 1) ACA subsidies, they are expiring and will raise premiums for millions on ACA starting in January. Many will lost their insurance because they can't afford it. Republicans want to weaken the ACA. Democrats want to strengthen it. 2) Medicaid cuts. Republicans want less Medicaid spending, Democrats want more.
