  1. Lets see if I understand you right...

you want the ranking be based on your custom scoring of your league... and once you set that, you want an overall ranking of all players...

Almost everysite including FFtoday allow you to do your own custom ranking but the problem is, they don't usually have all the options possible for the custom scoring rules. For example, in my league rb get .5 ppr, wr get 1 ppm and te get 1.25 ppr. There is no site that I have found that allows me to do so. which makes no sense since it would just be a calculations of their stats, but that's another conversation.

so you just have to find the site that gives you the scoring that is closest to your league and then do a custom overall ranking of all the players (where it doesn't separate between different positions)

If I understand you correctly, that's as close as you can come to what you are asking, the rest of it is black magic to pick the right player at your slot.

  2. STRAIGHT FROM THE MOTHERSHIP ITSELF:

    "B: Collusive transactions

Collusion occurs when one team makes moves to benefit another team, without trying to improve its own position. One-sided trades are an obvious example of this. Another example is when a player drop is made so another team can pick up that player. Teams found in violation of this policy will be cancelled and their owners prohibited from participating in future ESPN Fantasy Games."

That my friend, is collusion to a T.

Minor difference.... the above statement is only collusion if both parties are in on it. If some one made you a trade offer that you thought it was to your advantage, would you turn it down and say .. no no nooooo,,, you should ask for more..... no my friend... you will accept it in a heart beat.....

now.... it is shady and bad karma... and you know what they say about karma....

  3. You have to use both. If I have Larry Johnson projected to be one of the top 10 RBs, that doesn't mean I have to draft him in the second though that's where my projections would put him. If ADP has him being taken in the 14th, THAT lets me know I may want to look at him a few rounds prior or someone else will.

FWIW, I don't have LJ anywhere near there (probably upper 60s), just the first name that popped into my head.

I completely agree. This year the fields feels very open. There are many players that can make or brake you but they seem to be harder to pinpoint this year with all the changes over the offseason. I thought about doing an avg of the projected rankings with the players ADP to get the best sense of when it would be best to draft him. do you guys think thats a good or bad idea?

  4. ok so in advance this being my first year i appreciate all the help. I herd this is the palce to go for good info.

rules of my league. 12 man league. points are

    6 points per passing/rushing/recieving.

    1 point per 10 yards recieving/rushing.

    1 point per 20 passing.

    -2 for a pic

    -1 for a fumble

    Team A Team b

    QB- Cuttler QB- Schaub

    RB- AP RB- AP

    RB- Forsett RB- Forsett

    WR- Roddy White WR- Jennings

WR- Calvin johnson WR- TJ Housh.

TE- Vernon davis. TE- Vernon Davis

Team A. Ur upgrade at wr is worth the projected dowgrade on ur qb

  5. Jeff Garcia

    Passing - 22 TD / 14 INT 2,200 YDS

    Rushing - 41 CARRIES FOR 50 YARDS 2 TDS

    Darrius Heyward-Bey

    Recieving - 52 REC FOR 800 YARDS 10 TDS

    Rushing - 7 CARRIES FOR 52 YARDS

    RAIDERS - 9 and 7.

umm.. are you saying that garcia will only throw for 2200 yards as a full time starter and within that throw for 22 TD's? quite a high number for the yardage. Generally you would have to be around 3500 yards for about 22 td's.

As far as DHB.. you are way off. Calvin johnson played in 15 games as a rookie and he only ended up with 48 rec and 750 yards. DHB will have 35 catches for 300 yards and 3 tds.

at best raiders end up with 7 wins.

  6. Its the #68 pick...everyone is a project with a good upside at that point aren't they?

And Dusty is ok...but Gilbert next to Harris could be nasty up the middle.

I liked the pick for them.

I am not sure about the Knox pick as he seems to be a poor man's Hester (small, fast, good on special teams, not a great pure WR)

Yes, its the 68th pick.. my point is if you are going to take a project, why not take a player that will address your #1 hole if he pans out. If Gilbert pans out he will make our strong DL stronger.. how is that going to help cutler with the offense with the WR's that we got. I really hope that bennett and/or Rideou are diamonds in rough.

  7. I am not a denver fan, but I was shocked by the moreno pick. He may end up being really good, but I would have thought they would have addressed need rather than take the highest rated player on their board which seems to be what they did. I would have thought they would have taken the best defensive player on their board with their first 3 picks. I am surprised you think that they need help with WR. Also, the belichiek system does not need a stud rb. But playing playing devils advocate, NE has Brady and DEN no longer has Cutler. so he may have been trying to get Orton a good running game to lessen the load that he would have to carry.

Now I am a bears fan. My main problem with the draft was the 68 pick. I know everyone is big on Jarron Gilbert, but he was not on anyones radar until 6 months ago. yes, he can jump out of the pool, but I see him as a project with a good upside. My problem with this pick is that DT is not our #1 need. our need is a true #1 WR. I was really hoping that we could get Britt, but he was gone. I was then hoping that robiskie would fall but Cleveland took him to my surprise. Then chung (Saftey) was taken by NE. at this poing I had no problem with them trading down. But I was hoping that they would have drafted Ramses Barden with that pick. He is as much of a project as jarron but to me if it works out he would fill in our #1 need vs our #4 need.

  8. Why is knox a good pickup? What do u project him to be? Name me another 5'8" impact wr? At best he will be an stand out ST player and make a few play on trick plays. Our glaring holes are wr and SS and we did not adress them with any impact players in the draft. Look at NE 2nd rd picks. They had 3 holes, s, cb, ot and they adressed al three positions with good candidates. I love angelo for the cutler move. But if u given stale or old ingredients to the best chef in the world he won't be able to cook a better meal than an avg chef with better ingredients.

Nice pickup of Knox for the Bears as well. I know SOME people here are pretty big on him as well. :dunno:

  9. I agree with u. I was hoping that the bears would get Britt. I think he has most potential to become a true #1 wr. I liked robiske a little more than nicks. But I don't think either will be a true #1. The other player with big potential was ramses. Iglases is a good vale pick but but he is about the same as josh reed that u could have traded for for a 7th round pick. He is going to be an upgrade to davis. I think peterman out of NU could do the same as iglases. I hope rideoue and hass get an opportunity to play. I think bennet ceiling is curtis conway level. Good but not great.

Was bummed to see Robiskie go at 36, but not suprised. SO...was pretty happy to see them get Iglesias at 99. I know they were trying for Robiskie, and traded down once he was gone.

I still don't feel like we have a #1 wr, and don't think Iglesias will be that guy either.

Hester - #1? really? he's fast, but come on

    Davis - an Ok #2

Bennett/Iglesias - this could be interesting

    other wr - not much

    that leaves

    Olsen @ TE

    Forte @ RB

Not fantastic, but maybe Iglesias will surprise.

  10. I can't believe u guys think that a #1 wr is not the highest need for the bears. They don't have a true #1 and they didn't draft one either. By having cutler it further increased our need for a true number 1 wr. Its like haveing one of the best skilled employee and giving him century old tool to accomplishh his job. I would have been a lot happier if the bears picked ramses with the 68th pick. Not saying that he would end up as a better player than gilbert, but he has the measurabless to possibly devellop to a #1 wr. To me they both are projects and I would have rather gambled on the position of most need then the position that I have decent talent. Ramses is 6'5" and about 220 with good speed. If u look at the nfl, all true #1 wr's are 6'3" or taller, except for SS. And ramses has the measurables and decent college carrer.

Not alot of picks due to the trade.

The key areas to focus on are:

S or CB - biggest weakness imo. Tillman is solid and they have a bunch of decent players that arent necessarily starters or need to step it up. Good potential, but an unknown group. Mike Brown is gone I think and vasher has sucked or has been hurt the past two years. Tillman could make a great safety if they draft a CB.

Pass Rush - The Bears had very little pressure despite blitzing often. The lack of pass rush put additional pressure on the LBs and DBs and they wore down in games and gave up big plays late. They need to get to the qb for the defence to return to its former glory. Mark Anderson has done little since his 12 sack rookie year. Alex Brown has done well. Ogun is highly overpaid and a likely FA next year. DT also needs more inside pressure.

WR - The obvious area of need, but not the most critical imo.

  11. Made the SB for the 3rd time in 5 years in my 12 man redraft league. I am 0'fer for the previous two times so hopefully i am due.

    Cutler (s. hill)

    Thomas Jones (addai)

    Colston

    Andre Johnson

    Brandon Marshall

    Greg Jennings

    Tony Gonzalez

    Gould

    Falcons

  12. I am commish in this league. One team that has a playoff spot locked up is playing against a team fighting for the last spot in the playoffs. By losing this week's game, he would insure that they will meet again next week in the playoffs. He has set his worst possible lineup for this week's game in hope of losing. Keep in mind, he has not inserted injured or inactive players, he has just left his best players on the bench. It's obvious that he wants to set his preferred matchup for the playoffs. Would you consider this attempt to fix the outcome illegal, or is this just good strategy? As commissioner would you intervene or would you just leave him to his own fate?

We do not have weekly prizes or prizes for season point totals. Do those rules help cases like this in any other leagues? My initial thought is that someone would gladly throw away a chance at a small one week prize to help them advance in the playoffs.

    Any other thoughts?

    AHHH very interesting questions..

By doing well, he has earned the right to throw a game if he likes. I have a rule in my league that teams that have locked up a spot have the right to play any player they want(minus players that are not playing). aka, throw a game if they like. And teams that are on the bubble or out of the playoffs should play their best lineup... ex, no benching Wayne for Henderson.

I have weekly and season point totals, so those will not affect an owners decision.

So i say its a strategy and should be left alone.

  13. I talked to the owner that gave up mcnabb this morning. he was extremely defensive and mentioned to me that its his team and its his right to trade anyone he wants. a very unusal tone than compared to when I have talked with him in the past. I told him that I am not trying to evaluate the fairness of the trade, but whether it was collusion. He told me that there is no collusion.

    :dunno:

  14. In 8 years of being commissioner, i have never over turned the trade. but this one beyond baffles me. i just had a trade go through for mcnabb for cassell. under no circumstances do i see this is remotely a close trade. note that the guy that has mcnabb has only 1 win and the team with cassell is in the hunt for playoffs. I have asked both owners to explain themselves. what do you guys think...

put it up for vote or no?

edited: the team that had mcnabb has only 1 win.
