Do you support the Trump 10%+ tariff proposal?

It is not that simple when you consider logistics and supply chains along with the global market supply and demand. Theoretically yes. A 10% or more across the board tariff does not factor in any of the complex issues and will most assuredly result in higher prices for all of us at least in the short term. I believe in free and fair trade using tariffs only as a last resort to maintain fairness where outside influence contradicts.

Well let me be clear because there is much confusion. The Chinese government or manufacturer of the good does not pay anything to the US govt. The tariff is paid for by the importer, the entity importing the goods to the US. The importer can 1) absorb the cost 2) Increase the price of the good to the consumer and/or 3) negotiate with the exporter (China in this case) on a lower selling price. Historically it has been some combination of all three. What we saw with the Trump tariffs is that 100% of the tariff was passed to the consumer and sometimes it's even more. The clothes washing machine tariff saw prices increase by more than Trump's tariff. Same with solar panels. I explain this because Donald Trump doesn't understand this and my assumption is people who support tariffs do not understand this either.

You also forgot Newsmax, NY Post, Sinclair who owns most of the local news, epoch times, Washington times, Breitbart, wall St journal, fox business, daily caller, oan and now X. If you're going to opine about being saddened that folks take the media as truth you have to look at your own side doing the same thing and be honest with yourself.

He brags about overturning roe, then he says he's voting against the Florida 6 week ban because it's not enough, then he says free govt IVF for everyone, now he says he's voting for the Florida abortion ban. He will take whatever position elects him.
