It wouldn't be punk rock if they showed up to accept their awards and give a speech. Fear was one of my favorite punk bands, but I don't think they belong in the HOF. I also loved the Big Boys, and maybe they should get in because they invented funk punk, leading to the Chili Peppers and Rage Against the Machine. X is the one who really ought to be in there. The recently put out a new album with the original lineup, and it kicks ass from start to finish.

Another band I think ought to be in is Status Quo. They never got too big in the United States, but they've sold 118 million albums, and about a half dozen of their albums are absolutely great. By comparison, Van Halen has sold 80 million albums. It's good ol' boogie rock, like Foghat, only way better.

Definitely Jethro Tull, Rory Gallagher and The Smiths. I saw Rory Gallagher as a small venue years ago. Phenominal. I think Robert Plant more than deserves to be in as a solo artist. So much more deserving than Stevie Nicks, who had one OK album and a handful of hit songs.

I didn't know this about Joy Division and New Order. I've listened to a little Joy Division but not New Order. I'll have to check them out. It's good to see a band like Joy Division get some recognition. I wish they'd give more nods to punk, bands like The Germs, Black Flag, X, the Dead Kennedys and even the Butth0le Surfers, who destroyed the musical landscape with some of the most original music in history.

I didn't like them, Foreigner, Journey and R.E.O. Speedwagon in their prime. I've grown to appreciate the last three, but I never got the Styx thing. "Mr. Roboto" and "Too Much Time On My Hands" are terrible.
